They were very careful of my property, it was on top of a jacuzzi water fall with little room to work, they also made sure none of my recently planted flowers next to the jacuzzi were not damaged. They were extremely conscientious of all my property. They cleaned up everything and made it look like new. Ramiro gave me some tips on how to take care of my other landscaping needs. We had a water leak on the side of our house, it was a high pressure irrigation feed line for our entire property. I needed it fixed quickly and having just moved to SCV last September we had no contacts. I called Kathy's Landscape and Ramiro met with me the next day and said he could start removing concrete the following day. All this was great, what I didn't get was quality work. The new irrigation boxes they placed were not at ground level, the security fence they removed had a bent mounting flange where they just pulled it over trying to break the fasteners and the concrete repair work was sub par. The concrete around the drain grate for my 3" rear yard drain was not feathered to the drain, instead they just created a pocket for the water to collect in. I appreciate the quick response but the quality leaves me wondering what the new water pipe connections are like and will this happen again! I am still waiting on a pressure regulator washer that was damaged but not sure I'll see that, did ask the owner/salesperson about it but haven't heard back. They have yet to ask me if I'm happy with the work but I guess when they read this they will know. read more

Kathys Landscaping recently had an employee/ Management change and Justin left the company leaving me with an incomplete contract that was hard to figure out. The office staff did not handle my paperwork in a professional manner.- In fact they lost the contract, and I had to send them the copies. Romero the owner worked with us to interpret the contract. While we did not get everthing we wanted; We did get a Perfect Patio, Walkway, and beautiful plants. This company is honestly the best company you're going to find to landscape any project, big or small. Fast, reliable, friendly, punctual, attentive and the lowest price for multiple projects we've asked them to do. Earlier this week we asked them to tackle an extremely large project landscaping thousands of square feet- Not only did they do a beautiful job, but they also were able to come out in just over a day after the initial quote and finished earlier than expected. This company was not helpful to my needs, came to our home brought a Designer made us feel as if they could do anything,except pools and walls higher than 3 feet. I live in an HOA monitored community in Santa Clarita. The front lawn is important to the community, so the lawn needs to be well cared for. I'd been having issues with my sprinkler system for a few months. My regular gardener was way too busy to take care fo the problem himself. He made a couple of recommendations. I called three landscaping companies that purported to work on sprinklers. Only Kathy's bothered to respond at all. I called on a Thursday (Kevin was professional on the phone), Romero (the Sales Manager) came out on Friday and the job was finished on Saturday. I had several problems: 6 sprinklers needed to be replaced (including one that had broken off completely), more than a few sprinklers were pointed in the wrong direction (actually watering the walkways), the controller was set incorrectly and I had tree roots "chocking" several sprinklers in my front yard. They did a great job at a reasonable price. They showed up when they said they would and cleaned up after themselves. ****. Stay away **** I received a price for the work I had done. One of the things I had done was change and add sprinklers. I was told by Ramiro, 23 sprinklers is what I needed. The price was high but I needed the work done and felt they were the company to do so. When they finished the work Ramiro came back out and I noticed it was only 16 sprinklers. I told him and he said 23 would've been too many. Ramiro didn't want to adjust the price to reflect 7 less sprinklers than the quote. They obviously pull prices out of their ass instead of having something set. Our experience with Kathy's Landscaping was extremely positive! I was referred to them by my sister after she had used them for a couple of much smaller projects at her home. Justin was prompt and kept every appointment we set. Our communication was frequent and he returned every text or phone call immediately. Whenever we had to revise an estimate (due to me changing up a couple of the project's features), he remained very patient. While assessing the yard, he was also very up-front about an issue with my yard drains that could increase the overall cost. So (I hear you ask)...why only 4 stars instead of 5. There were some gaps in the communication between Justin and the crew leader (Tomas) about what Justin and I had agreed to on placement of water and electrical conduit lines. Fortunately, I caught this before the concrete was poured so it was an easy fix. My recommendation is to be hands-on and verify expectations with the crew as they're performing the work. The work was done on schedule and came out better than expected. I have an appointment with Justin already set to discuss a different project for the front yard. Miserable experience. Would never recommend this company. I never write reviews because I don't have much time, but this experience must be publicized. 1. The look was not what I wanted. Despite the fact that I paid $4K for a tiny yard! 4 THOUSAND. I was going for the sleek, modern CA chic look with thin lines of grass in between concrete on a grid. Instead, I got very wide swatches of grass in between the concrete. It looks like a less sophisticated version of what I wanted. 2. The service was even worse. A few days after installing, the pipe they installed started leaking. They had to come back to fix their error. Also the artificial grass had a bunch of green balls around the edge making it look sloppy. They had to come back to clean it up. 3. My plants never grew. They told me to keep waiting. After I waited and waited, they told me they only have a 30 day guarantee so they couldn't help me. That's a scam to tell me to wait and then tell me they won't help me because I waited! 4. Several months later, my gardener tells me the sprinklers Kathy's installed are not working. I replaced the batteries, tried to reset it and still nothing. So I called kathy's because clearly the installation or the equipment or both was faulty. It never worked (after maybe the first few weeks) which is (one of the reasons) why the plants never grew. Kathys wants ME to pay $100 for them to fix their faulty installation and/or equipment and service (if they fixed it earlier we wouldn't be here) and Rimero, the owner, complained about having to drive out to my house. He repeatedly told me they are not responsible because Justin who installed me no longer works for the company, which is ridiculous. So they do not stand behind their work or product or THEIR EMPLOYEES. They also told me I should have been calling the office with any issues instead of calling Justin who they hired to interface with the public. Never told me that before. So I'm supposed to be telepathic and read their minds. Clearly they are trying to skirt responsibility to line their pockets. I was thinking this is "Kathy's" fault, but then found out Rimero is the actual owner of the company so all of this is squarely on him. Now I'm out $4K for a landscape I didn't want, 3 plants that have died and never really lived, an expensive sprinkler system that worked for a split second and a service fee to pay for service to fix kathys errors. 5. I referred 2 others to them lining their picked with tens of thousands of dollars and they treated ME this way. read more

We had Kathy's Landscaping design and build our new backyard. We LOVE the results of their work. Ramiro brought a designer/artist to sit and work with us to conceptualize what we wanted, everything from hardscape to the plants. He spent a lot of time with us making sure he knew exactly what we wanted and showing us samples. They had great ideas that took our initial ideas and developed them into a beautiful design. He was flexible and kind throughout the process. Once we had the yard designed and planned, they began work and it only took them and week and a day. They put in a patio section with pavers, a patio section with patterned concrete, a walkway with steeping stones and sedum, and build trellises which not have plants growing to provide privacy, but also hold the lights they strung from the fence to the house. They built a beautiful gas fireplace and installed an automatic watering system. I was amazed at how much they achieved in such a short time and how professional they were. We have had a few minor issues with the watering system, as might be expected with new construction. But Ramiro always comes to figure it out. He just replaced part of the watering system because the soil wasn't draining water properly and some plants were dying. He fixed the irrigation, replaced the plants, and has checked to ensure it's working properly. This company is super professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. We found Ramiro and his crew easy to work with and we would highly recommend them to others! read more

Our lawn needed to be completely replaced. Alex Corral gave us great advice about ground cover and plants next to the driveway, and lawn replacement in the backyard with different areas of sun and shade. The job included adding bender board to existing planted areas, adding a few new plants, and completely removing the old lawn/weeds and replacing with sod that should work in both sun and shade areas. The sprinkler system was reviewed and upgraded where needed with more efficient heads. A complete crew showed up and finished the entire job in four days. read more

Had a small job including new sod. Ramiro quoted a price. One worker showed and did not appear to know exactly what he was supposed to. Saw no supervisor all day. Ramiro called about 5:10PM to say he would be by in twenty minutes. He ran the sprinklers. After I had given him his check he told me that he had made mistake when he quoted the price because he had not run the irrigation. He said something about the sprinkler blah, blah, blah. Bottom line-he said he could send his guys to fix it tomorrow for another $250.00. It was then that I asked him to leave my property. I don't make a habit of paying for other people's mistakes. These people are the worst. Read the reviews, they WILL drive you crazy. RAMIRO made an appointment, called to say he was going to be late by an hour and then NEVER SHOWED UP! I called them to reschedule, rescheduled for a date a week after the original date, this time he showed up late with an extremely bad attitude. Paid no attention to what we were asking for just started quoting us for services we didn't need. He is very arrogant, rude and difficult to communicate with. AVOID RAMIRO AT ALL COST! Then the emails started, with quotes for thousands of dollars of services we didn't have any interest in. Every email was followed by another email saying the previous email had an error. Then the calls started, got about 15 calls, asking random questions, scheduling and rescheduling service. Finally they told us that we needed PRE-SERVICE for a large amount to prepare our garden for the SERVICE we had actually requested, which was ridiculous because our garden is nicely maintained. At that point I lost my patience and cancelled the whole thing. Save yourself and don't even call these people. Ignore the fake reviews, there is no way this business can 3.5 stars, they should have NO stars. read more
