Kat's deli is a must! If you are in the Hatteras area, her restaurant is a destination staple! I haven't been able to visit in a couple of years and I was delighted to see what was new and to see if some classics were still available (oniontended consequence). Needless to say I was more than pleased when I entered an artistic sandwich deli filled with all kinds of handmade gifts including soaps, candles, art, clothes, bags and soooo much more! The staff and owners are so pleasant and attentive. Now what you want to know is HOW WAS THE FOOD?! It was AMAZING! Their sandwiches somehow got even better over time and are crafted to perfection. We loved it! It's walk in and order at the counter. They have some seating inside and some seating outside. Sandwiches ranged from $4 for kids and $10 for adults, and they all included chips & a pickle. Drinks were extra and sold individually. Good selection of bottled water, canned soda, and Snapple. We waited less than 10 minutes for 4 sandwiches and they brought it all to our table, and had the entire order correct. Very nice staff also. We are happy we chose this based on yelp reviews. Very small dining area. 15 seats inside and outside porch seating. Cute little place. No seafood options. Butternut Squash soup was very good. Fantastic little deli that also has some souvenirs for sell. I got the Jurassic Park panini and upgraded the chips for pasta salad. It was delicious. It's behind the Happy Belly. It is fantastic food, properly prepared in a clean, air-conditioned environment. The sandwiches are mostly classics but some are invented on site. The ingredients to top notch, the deli meats are sliced thin and the bread is excellent. The Rubin was for real and the Italian was what you'd get in jerzy. One thing I always dislike is when you go out to eat, and feel like you ate a car. We had one of their Panini's and the Cobb salad and I must say that the cost per portion size is spot on. They will make a sandwich or salad to your preference, so don't feel limited by the menu - just ask. Super friendly and casual roadside deli. We walked in and were greeted by the folks behind the counter. They were very patient as we ordered while it 5&6 year old sons kept changing their minds. The deli had counter service but they brought the food to our table. Indoor and outdoor seating. There were even people on beach wear sitting outside eating. Stopped here after getting off ferry. The sandwiches are huge and delicious. They are a little pricy, but once you see how much meat and in my case eggs they have on them you understand the price. My husband had the Italian and thought it was one of the best he has had. I tried the egg salad and it was very good also. Defiantly worth the stop. read more

Wonderful gem near Hatteras and Frisco! The sandwich/wrap options were really excellent. Ingredients include avocado, homemade pesto, bacon, caprese... the works! There's something for everyone. Not what I expected...at all. To start with, the person who took my phone order HUNG UP ON ME before I could even finish my order! When we did get our food, it was quite underwhelming. The roast beef had a good flavor and everything seemed fresh but for a $10 sandwich, I expected, at the very least, adequate portions. $30 for 2 sandwiches with bottled water and we both left hungry! Very little meat at all and one slice of tomato on an 8 inch roll. Plenty of lettuce though...I guess lettuce is cheap. Honestly, if given the choice between Kat's and Subway, I'd choose Subway every time. read more

Don't waste your time here. This place can't decide if it wants to be a real restaurant or some kind of ironic, hipster deli. They have a very limited menu and nothing on it is particularly "gourmet". The Big Kid Grilled Cheese is just two pieces of cheese on some sourdough bread that they stuck in a panini press and even their sandwich meat tastes more like some pre-packaged stuff they picked up at Food Lion. I liked the decor until I sat down at one of their cheap metal table sets. Overall, the staff seems uninterested and food is uninspired. There are significantly better places you can visit in Hatteras of Frisco without spending a disappointing amount of money on food you won't even finish. I stood and watch the guy behind the counter wash his hands. Which is a great thing but then blew nose with the towel he dried his hands with and then walked over and started making my sandwich. When I said something to him he basically called me a liar and told I did not see what I saw. First off don't argue just wash your hands again and start over. Then after spending $20 on two sandwiches. My wife text me to remember to grabs a couple of sodas because the cooler was at the rental. So I try and buy 2 cans of coke which they wanted $2 each for a can of coke. So I try and buy 2 of them. Only to be told I need to spend min. $5 to use my debt card. They are RUDE and Nasty. My advice go spend your hard earned money some where else that appreciates your business. read more

I stumbled on this deli after visiting the Graveyard of the Atlanta Museum. The staff & service were excellent. A very good selection of sandwiches & other menu items. My ham & Swiss cheese daily special was huge (@ $9). It came with a pickle & bag of chips. I enjoyed it on an outside patio. It's tucked into a group of small businesses & the sign next to the road wasn't very big but definitely worth a stop! read more
