Considering it's an expensive restaurant my expectations were high and this place definitely exceeded it! The waiters are all very kind and provide phenomenal service! I was blown away by how delicious the food is, starting from salads to appetizers! The truffle orzo and tuna tartar were BEYOND delicious, I've tried many but this place TOPS it!! Loud, overpriced and bad service... The ambience is as unique and we had a lot of expectations. When we were seated, we were provided complimentary stale chips with ranch. What happened to bread service. This place wants to charge for that. We asked to lower the music, we get it for the live performance but before the performer arrived, the music was so loud that we couldn't hear each other. We waited over an hour for our meat dishes- ribeye, beef cheeks and braised beef. The meat was tepid and the beef cheeks was gamey and tough. The vegetables were steamed with some weird sauce. I ordered an iced tea which was as fruit based as I was told, there was no ginger ale or lemonade. Given there was a full bar, that made little sense. Of course, there were no refills and the iced tea was warm. Service was average with the wait staff barely making her round, especially given most of the folks also waited over an hour for their food. I was provided an email asking for feedback in which I provided constructive feedback, no reply.. never coming back and most certainly telling my coworkers not to go there.. we work close by at Disney. We ordered Ribeye (medium) and I can say, it was the best Ribeye I've had. And I have tried every steakhouse in LA. Our Waiter Jakob was so nice and friendly, he definitely made our dinner more enjoyable. The singer had a beautiful voice and the choice of songs was bomb. From the moment you walk in, you feel transported to a beautiful interior with such lavish 3D decor and ceilings. Now, onto the food, service, and ambience (the more important aspects). The food is incredible. The heirloom tomatoes, beef cheek, dips, and the steaks are all incredible. Many of the dishes have a great rich taste and even truffle! We had 7:15 pm reservations for my mother's birthday. When me and my wife arrived the place was still empty. We were the first to arrive from our party of 7. Our waiter, Greg, was absolutely terrible. He brought over 2 menus and immediately asked us what kind of alcohol we wanted. I informed him that we would be waiting for the rest of our group to arrive before we would be ordering drinks. He immediately got a sour look on his face because we didn't start racking up the bill with alcoholic drinks the second we arrived. He didn't know that my wife is pregnant, which is why she wasn't drinking. When I noticed that he started getting an attitude because we didn't immediately order something, I ordered a beer while we were waiting for the rest of our group to arrive, while my wife just asked for water. (Which he brought an $8 bottle for, not a glass of water). It was too late in Greg's eyes though! the "damage" was apparently already done. For the rest of the evening, Greg, was INCREDIBLY rude to our entire group, including being rude to my elderly Armenian Mother and Father, Pregnant wife, my sister, and even rude to her 2 children. It was so bad even the children we had in our group noticed, and asked me why the waiter was being incredibly rude to us. After the rest of our group arrived, Greg did not bother bringing more menus, even when we asked him for more. He said you guys can just share them and walked away. So we were stuck sharing 2 menus among 7 people. I was trying to be EXTRA nice to Greg for most of the evening, as the host of the party, being polite and thanking Greg with a nice "thanks Aper" every time he brought plates or took them away, trying to salvage the rest of the night, so it would go smoothly. That effort was useless. Not once did he say "you're welcome" or crack a smile or anything. He acted like we insulted his family or something, even though he was the one that insulted mine by being VERY rude to them all. Even though we ordered 4 appetizers, 7 entrees, and 3 desserts, and multiple drinks/bottles of water and sparkling water, he was a jerk to us the entire night because my pregnant wife didn't order a cocktail the second we sat down. After the entrees were finished, he even had the audacity to argue with my wife about not wanting to bring a dessert menu, and that we should just order the off menu dessert that includes all the desserts. My wife finally snapped back at him saying, well we don't know what the desserts are, because you don't want to bring us the dessert menu, so why would we order that item without knowing what's included? Imagine arguing with a pregnant woman, let alone a pregnant woman who wants to see a dessert menu so she can order more food. At that point my blood was boiling, and I had to choose between confronting Greg directly, which would not have ended well, or going and speaking to Mariam the manager. I chose to speak to Mariam instead, and despite her attempts at making the situation better, the night was already ruined. Mariam was very kind and comped the desserts for us, but 10 mins of finally being treated nicely by someone employed by Katsin, and having $50 knocked off a $700+ bill, does not make up for 2.5 hours of being treated absolutely rudely by Greg. She offered to change our table but the evening had left such a bitter taste in our mouths that we just wanted to leave. We had already eaten and been treated rudely for long enough. The worst waiter in the world, Greg, didn't even bother acknowledging my mothers 66th birthday, despite letting them know it was her Birthday when we were seated, AND when we made reservations. The food is actually really good, but when you have someone serving you that is intent on being rude to you, it ruins everything, including the food and the show. This place has the potential to be a wonderful place, and had we had a waiter that was capable of not being as friendly as a wasp, we would be coming here from now on. The singing and the dancing are very well done, but were all overshadowed by the terrible attitude of our waiter. I will not be recommending this place to anyone and will be sharing this extremely negative experience on Trip Advisor and Google. The Katsin in Yerevan is way better, and has much more friendly people. I also noticed HOW Katsin has so many positive reviews. The waiter will literally stand there and almost force customers to leave 5/5 star reviews on their Yelp page and even noticed him grabbing one of the customers phones, and writing the review himself. Greg literally took a customer's phone, and wrote himself, and the restaurant a review. We were shocked to say the least. There's a reason why every review that mentions him, uses the same descriptive words like "exceptional". He's the one writing them! read more
