We had an absolutely amazing experience celebrating birthday with my family and friends! From the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. A special thank you to Liana, our server, for her excellent service. She was so attentive, kind, professional, and made sure that everyone was taken care of throughout the entire evening. And the food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully prepared, fresh, flavorful, and enjoyed by all of our guests. Everyone loved the food and kept complimenting how delicious everything was. We also want to thank the owner for making us feel so welcome and for creating such a beautiful atmosphere. And the DJ was fantastic! The music was perfect, the energy was incredible, and he kept everyone dancing and having fun all night. This is place is a different experience...Liana was the person who helped me with booking and also took care of us there. She sent me an agreement with menu, do and don't s and charges. Even though its not a straightforward one. First and the most thing to remember, have cash with you (zelle will be extra $10 charge on every $100). Their pose didnt work so it was surprising but incidents happen and hopefully it was only tonight that it didnt work. Parking is next door and dress code is elegant at least for the time we were there. It was baptism, birthday and etc. I love the idea that with minimum 10ppl you can experience Armenian wedding with same table set up, apprizers, bbq and etc. you only dont have centerpieces but you have dj and live music and they both were professional and honestly the whole night we were dancing. The whole table was colorful with so many great appetizers options for every taste. Im against leave leftovers while the food is too much and there is no way you can eat everything. Please ask for boxes which i never did before....The only part that was concerning the amount of food that its left. I saw in any other comments that they were other people concerned before so as our sweet Liana offered to take your the and and also she stated she can provide boxes as many as we need...Such a gesture! 5 stars to Liana... we didnt feel bad because there were so many appetizers left that we werent able to eat it...Its like fat Armenian wedding table. And i cant tell enough the deliciousness of food... bbq was great...i love the salmon...Also other thing to consider, they also offer caviar but its red caviar. ​UPDATE / RESPONSE TO OWNER'S DISHONEST REPLY: ​I need to set the record straight regarding management's response, which contains several blatant falsehoods: -​Reservation Time: We never made a reservation for 6:00 PM. We explicitly communicated that we would arrive at 8:00 PM due to living an hour away. We were not "two hours late." -​Racist Comments & Disrespect Upstairs: When I went upstairs to offer genuine feedback that charging individually for tea bags ($32 total) instead of offering a pot is uncommon, the owner's immediate, aggressive response was: "Because this is an Armenian restaurant, that's why you're talking to me about this. Otherwise, in other places, you wouldn't say anything. So if you don't have the money, don't come out." Using ethnicity to dismiss a customer and insulting our finances is completely unacceptable. ​-Lie About Discounts: When I reminded him that this is no way to speak to a customer, he offered to take $12 off. I told him to keep his $12--I was giving feedback, not asking for a handout. Claiming they offered to remove all 7 teas is a complete lie. I uploaded the bill. -"Complimentary" Dessert: False. I have the itemized receipt showing we were charged for the creme brulee. ​-Service Issues: Our server barely spoke English, and the kitchen/staff completely forgot to bring out the birthday girl's drink. Regardless I handed $20 cash directly to our server and as he mentioned we were super respectful towards her to later on saying we disrespected anyone. -​Payment & Street Scene: For the final bill, the cash was left inside the bill booklet. Instead of checking the booklet first, the owner, another man, and the waitress rushed into the street, pointed at us, and publicly accused us of not paying while I had a birthday guest in my car. ​Refusing to Apologize & Aggressive Conduct: They made an embarrassing scene in public before bothering to open the bill presenter where the money was sitting. Not only did they never apologize for the baseless accusation, but the owner also displayed aggressive tone and body language toward an older woman in our party. That was captured in the video. ​Staff Treatment vs. Owner Disrespect: Even in the owner's own reply, he admitted we were loving and friendly with the server. We tipped her in cash upfront. After hostile treatment my reaction was towards the owner appalling disrespect, racism, and condescension upstairs not directed to anyone else. ​ ​Instead of taking accountability to check a bill booklet before chasing guests down the street, the owner chose to write a dishonest narrative online. As a business owner, your hostile demeanor, racist assumptions, and refusal to apologize speak for themselves you completely failed. The receipts and facts don't lie. ​It is deeply unfortunate that after being publicly harassed, chased down the street over a payment that was already recorded in the booklet, and subjected to racially charged comments during a conversation upstairs, the owner still refuses to take accountability. Not once has there been an apology for making a scene, hurling baseless accusations, or creating a hostile environment. I have been to three parties at JAAAAAN over the last 2 years, and 2 out of the 3 were parties that my family hosted. We have had wonderful experiences all 3 times. The music is wonderful. They have a DJ and live entertainment. The food is really good, especially the seafood options in my opinion. It's a great spot to do a birthday party or another celebration like a graduation. You can do a smaller party, or a bigger party where you rent out the entire venue, it just depends on their availability. The most recent time we did an event was a Friday in November and it was very nice because it wasnt as packed as the other times we went and we could easily move around. The other two times it was insanely packed and we could really get up from our seats ans rhe dance floor was packed. I will say when it is packed they bring out multiple live singers, some pretty well known Armenian singers. On the most recent visit there was only one live entertainer that came out around 10:00pm, the rest of the time it was the DJ. I highly recommend this spot for occasions like milestone birthdays or graduation parties. Not big enough for a wedding unless you are looking to do something on a smaller scale. Reservations highly recommended for big big parties or on weekends. They also have different packages for food options to include certain add-ons. read more

I have hosted A LOT of parties throughout my life and have given the venues a deposit to hold the date and paid my balance after the event with no issues. What I found surprising and silly is the fact this establishment taxes you on the DEPOSIT! I sent a $200 deposit and he asked for an additional $20 as well and when I questioned it, the owner said he has to pay tax on that $200. Lucky me he did not ask for $2 to pay for the additional $20 he also has to pay tax on.... If a place is this stingy and tight, I cannot imagine what they do with their leftovers. read more

We were guests to a birthday party at Jaaaaan and had a good time. It's a good place to celebrate special occasions since you can reserve for large groups but not necessarily the whole venue. You basically reserve according to number of guests you will have. In our party it was set up for about 30 guests. The food is served family style. Appetizers and mezzes are on the table when you arrive. Then they bring the hot food items such as bbq, rice, fish etc .... Most of the mezzes and appetizers were delicious so was the fish with veggies. The bbq was not that good, specially the chicken. The service was attentive and friendly. The entertaining was nice. Mostly DJ but also an Armenian singer that was a great performer. Everyone was up and dancing..... If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I made a reservation for Easter and called THREE times to confirm the details. Each time, I was told it was "Arabic Night" and $100 per person fine. No one ever mentioned that the entire place would be filled with cigar and hookah smoke. My family arrived before I did and called me in a panic apparently the whole restaurant was a smoke cloud. CIGARS. HOOKAH. Indoors. When I spoke to the manager (who claimed she had talked to me before), she suddenly swore she told me there would be hookah. That never happened. Just "Arabic Night." What, are we supposed to automatically know that means people will be lighting up inside like it's a nightclub? And why would I bring a child and elderly family members with health issues if I had even the slightest clue that smoking was part of the evening? Use common sense. To make it worse, I came across a review where the restaurant claims, "We'd never allow smoking inside." So which is it? are you lying to customers online or just to their faces? As someone who has managed a restaurant before, I'm shocked at how little this team seems to care about guest experience. No accountability, no effort to make things right just a weak "sorry" and pretending it's the customer's fault. You even had the nerve to lie to my family when I wasn't there to defend myself? Such a wonderful restaurant and my party had the best experience! We reserved for a birthday party two weeks in advance, and the manager who assisted us was so kind and helpful! The table was set beautifully and there were a wide array of items from cold to hot appetizers, salads, sauces, and bbq! Everything tasted amazing, especially the Thai beef salad and the pork ribs bbq. Our wait staff was excellent as well and they made sure that we were doing well at all times. Their Fish along with Avocado tomato salad was really good! The music is mostly in Armenian / Russian but i am sure the DJ can accommodate and play different types of music. First time being here, so just couple of pointers. The location of the restaurant is great. The music is good and the food is mediocre, nothing special to remember. I have to mention that the show with the belly dancer added some spark and excitement amongst the guests. There was only two other tables in the restaurant besides ours, so the waiters had barely anything to do, nevertheless we had to pour our own drinks, cause they were never around.
