    13. Curry chicken cutlet
    Nancy Q.

I've tried this restaurant twice and the food wasn't good each time. First visit, I tried the ramen. The broth was salty and not flavorful. There were very few toppings. Definitely the worst ramen I've eaten in Northridge. Second visit, I asked the worker to recommend something. So I had the chicken katsu with curry. It was a very small amount of curry especially because the katsu was dry. The service took some time but I was surprised the food didn't taste better, maybe they cooked the katsu too long which made it dry. Maybe I happened to be here on 2 bad nights. Not sure if I'll try it a third time.

    #1: Pork Cutlet Combo

I've been going here for literally probably about a decade now and it still hits the spot for me every single time. It's food court food, but it's comforting food court food. Portions are so plentiful to fill you up. Lotsss of that delicious cabbage and sesame dressing to cut through the fried food which btw has never been greasy in my experience! Meat rice and veggies + soup, how could you go wrong. I have yet to try the ramen since I usually go here when I'm craving a rice katsu meal specifically (usually between the pork cutlet or the katsudon). Food is usually served fairly quickly even when they're busy. Sometimes they offer random seasonal offerings. I wish they'd bring back the unagi rice bowl, that was yummy!!

Absolutely amazing! The man who helped us (possibly the owner) was so kind and friendly -- such great service! The food completely blew me away -- delicious, fresh, and the portions are huge. Even the miso soup that comes with the meal was incredible. Highly recommend this spot to everyone visiting the Korean market!

Owner and staff are nice, food is great Thank's to chiny for my son's plain udon request Sunny is so friendly It feels like home while the whole family's eating dinner We love it! See yah nextime

I was surprised by the quality of the katsu, especially because the restaurant was located in a food court inside Galleria market. I had the udon combo, and it was so big! Not only the pork katsu was big, soft and tender, the combo came with a big potato and shrimp katsu (both huge)! The udon was also surprisingly flavorful, with the right level of chewyness and the broth paired so well with the greasiness of the fried items, with a good but light seaweed hint. It also came with a big portion of cabbage salad, thin sliced, just the perfect way to eat a good katsu. Highly recommend!

My kids were craving Katsu, so we decided to go to a spot we frequent. Katsu restaurant is located inside Galleria Market, in their food court. We got the Chicken Katsu which was made deliciously. The breading was light and crispy and paired well with the Katsu sauce. The meal included shredded cabbage salad and the dressing was very good. The meal also comes with side dishes and a bowl of Miso soup and White rice. They also offer Pork, fish, hamburger and shrimp Katsu. Next time you're craving Katsu and rice, come pay this place a visit, it won't disappoint.

The ramen was missing just a kick of seasoning. I had to add a few drops of soy sauce. Chicken that came with was good. Next comb pork Katsu was slice pretty thin and it was ok. Although the service was good. The place is clean. The cooks should do Better. For the price, not worth it for 13.99 small ramen noodles and thin pork. They should do better next time

Here's a photo from another tonkatsu specialty restaurant. The tonkatsu is crispy and really delicious

Yesterday, I had tonkatsu and ramen at this restaurant. I ate the ramen on the spot, and I got the tonkatsu to-go. The ramen was decent, but the tonkatsu was tasteless and the meat was tough. They called it "King Tonkatsu," but compared to other tonkatsu specialty restaurants, the portion was extremely small, and including tax, nearly $20 is quite an outrageous price. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat here, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Katsu Cutlet is a great shop to visit if you're craving for curry. They have normal chicken curry or ramen curry. Location: The restaurant is located inside the Galeria Market, to the left side of the building. Parking: Plenty of free market parking. The curry: It tasted pretty amazing. the chicken cutlet was thin and extremely crispy. The curry sauce was very light and flavorful. The meal comes with a bowl of rice, all sorts of sauces, some kimchi sides, and a large pile of delicious cabbage. Staff: they were very nice korean ladies! Covid Protocol: none Overall: I minus on star because I notice the lady who was dealing with the cash registry was not wearing glove when she was handling the food bowls and trays. I would totally come back here. next time i am trying their curry ramen!

    Omurice

This is the closest place to us (that we know of) that has Omurice so we came here today to try it after days of craving it after trying it at another spot. Waited a bit but not too long. We took it to go (as usual) to eat at home and enjoy while watching something. I opened up the little container they had for the sauce for the Omurice and I already knew I wouldn't like it. I'm not a fan of tomato soup and that's what it smelled/looked like. The place we had gotten it before was more of a thick sauce that was more soy saucey than tomato-y. I proceeded to eat it anyway and poured a little bit over my rice for the first bite. It was ok. Nothing crazy and the fried rice is pretty basic. I love egg so I enjoyed that at least. Tbh if they didn't include any pickled radish and jalapeños, I probably wouldn't be able to get through this. It was very tasty with the pickled side dish and would've asked for extra if I had known. Decent meal but would much rather drive 45+ min to the other place for better Omurice. Still, this is decent for some fried rice and egg! IG: @ammysalamii

Pork Katsu. Good. Wish the curry sauce was hot.

I don't eat pork, but I'm okay with pork broth, so I asked if I could substitute the pork chashu for chicken. What I received instead was popcorn chicken, which was unexpected and not at all what I had in mind. There was no communication that this would be the substitute, which made it even more frustrating. On top of that, I was still charged for it without any clarification beforehand. Transparency goes a long way, especially when making substitutions. Overall, between the lackluster flavor and the confusing substitution, it just didn't feel like a thoughtful or well-executed experience.

For example, the agedashi tofu came with vegetables like zucchini, eggplant, and cauliflower, which is quite unusual and not something I've seen in traditional Japanese preparation. The sashimi also tasted off -- it seemed like very low-quality fish, almost as if it had been frozen for too long. We also ordered a nabeyaki udon for our 2-year-old, knowing it's typically served in a very hot bowl. However, the server attempted to place it directly in front of our child without any hesitation or warning, which felt quite careless and concerning from a safety perspective. Overall, this didn't feel like authentic Japanese cuisine or sushi, but more of an unclear fusion concept. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share this experience so others don't come in expecting high-quality or traditional Japanese food.

This is one of the few Mitsuwa that doesn't have a food court (San Gabriel is another one without). The premade food section was surprisingly pretty good, better options than the Torrance or Santa Monica locations, imo. They do carry the same poke bowl that is also sold at Torrance. The store closes at 9:00pm, so the premade food section is pretty much cleared out and the self checkout is closed by around 8:00pm. The late hours actually got the busiest because only one staffed cash register was open and customers had to get in line instead of the self checkout. The store is clean and spacious, lots of self checkouts that are open during the day, and the bathrooms were clean (just need to get the code from a staff member!). I came three times on a weekday, once a little after lunch and another right around 5:30 and then around 8:00. Parking was a breeze every time. They have plenty of parking adjacent to the store. The other side of the shopping center gets a little busy, but Mitsuwa is at the comfortable corner closest to the train tracks. Getting out of the parking lot can be challenging because Tampa is a busy street and some people try to make a left turn out (I have my opinions about that lol). If heading out towards CSUN, the shopping center also has two exits out to Nordhoff so that worked well for me. I was in the area for a few job interviews... If I am hired nearby I'm definitely coming to this Mitsuwa a lot :)
