This is a hidden gem in the valley. From the outside I did not expect the interior to look so nice and Japanese style. The sushi omakase was so tasty with different cuts of fish like toro, salmon belly and more. Each one had garnishes like chili oil, yuzu, fresh wasabi, etc. The presentation is stunning. The other items we ordered were also so fresh and tasty like the Toro toast, negitoro mini bowl, and shishito peppers. Fresh and delicious food here !

Asahi Sushi in Granada Hills was such a great find. The quality of the fish really stands out--everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We especially loved the Lemon Yuzu Seared Scallop Crudo (super bright and refreshing) and the Toro Toast, which was rich, buttery, and topped with caviar for an elevated touch. The Osaka Premium Sushi Combo is perfect for sharing and showcases a great variety of delicate, high-quality cuts. They also have a wide selection of rolls, so there's something for everyone. Overall, a solid spot for both classic sushi and unique dishes--definitely coming back!

Love coming here for lunch. Great service, great prices, and fresh sushi. Nearly every table was filled with patrons and the service was still spot on while being so crowded.

We were looking for a sushi spot after my boys event in Granada hills and this spot has a lot of reviews. As soon as we got here I realized I have been here maybe a couple of years ago. The wait time on a Friday night after 9am was still about 15+ minutes. First thing I noticed was their menus. It's the same template as Koppan Ramen. When we got seated I also noticed the seats/booths are the same. Maybe they used the same designer. Onto the food, my son is in his unagi phase so he got the unagi hand roll and unagi sushi, I got the calamari and soft shell crab to share, my other son got the mini negi toro don and Benjie roll. I got the Snow White roll, halibut and yellow tail roll. Loved the soft shell and the mini toro don. Price was pretty good. Our server Louis was attentive and nice. I flagged another server to check on my order and he got a bit of attitude so docked a star for that. Acoustics is not so good, the table in front of us was a bit loud and I can hear their conversation.

Met a friend for lunch and we ended up at Asahi honestly, such a solid choice. They have a great selection of lunch specials, and I went with the late lunch box. It came with miso soup, a fresh salad, a sushi roll, and your choice of protein and rice perfectly portioned and super satisfying. Naturally, we couldn't pass up a tall glass of Hite to go with it . Service was on point. We were seated almost immediately, our order was taken quickly, and the food hit the table surprisingly fast (always a win during lunch hours). Heads up: parking can be a little tricky since the shopping center gets pretty congested with neighboring businesses. Overall, great food, efficient service, and a reliable spot for a casual lunch. We'll definitely be back!

Great food fresh sushi and amazing service. It's a perfect date night. Wife stressed out with work so sushi will fixed it. We will be back for some more. All we tried tonight was delish and it's so hard to choose from their menus

Though Asahi Sushi has been around for such a long time, today was my first time giving it a proper chance and I am soooo happy I did. I definitely see it becoming one of my favorite sushi spots. There's a very classy but cozy vibe to the ambiance, staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious! I really loved the spicy garlic edamame and out of all the rolls we ordered, the Pink Lady was my favorite. All of the fish was super fresh and I think all of the rolls we ordered had a great combination of ingredients. The price seemed to be pretty standard for most à la carte sushi restaurants and for the quality and flavor, it's definitely worth it.

Ambiance: Great! Haven't been here for more than 15 years... I was pleasantly surprised at the tasteful remodel! Beautiful booths and softly lit light boxes for their decor was both tasteful and functional. Food was fine, no complaints. Service was also good. I think that the money invested in the interior is being paid for by the customer. The food was presented well, but the quality and execution was neither good or bad.

My friend has eaten here plenty of times and recommended it to me. I met her for lunch and today was my first time dining here. There was no wait at all and parking was easy (plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot... no charge). We got seated right away and the staff and our server (Koko) were very friendly and attentive. As far as the food, the sushi was just ok. Overly priced although I heard their prices use to be a lot lower prior to remodeling. I eat sushi often and I've had better for less. They definitely have a lot of options on the menu (something for everyone).

The good: Bora Bora Luau Roll, Balboa roll, spicy tuna, spicy albacore, energy roll, red dragon roll, green dragon roll. :)

What happened, Asahi? Prices went up but size and quality took a huge hit. The fancy shmancy rolls that cost a bunch are literally half the size and not as fresh. I was chalking up the difference a few times during to different chefs or whatever but it kept happening. What an absolute shame. Hard pass.

Service sure has gone down since we were here last. Came by this morning basically when they opened and no one else was there. For 10 pieces of Nigiri Sushi, you would think that would come out quickly, it took SO long, maybe like a 20 min wait?? So odd since there was literally no one else there.. we ordered to go for this small meal (luckily had other food but needed this for reference on keycap making). Delicious sushi which is why I haven't lowered my rating so drastically but I think my biggest gripe is the tipping system. Pay attention to your receipts!! My bf paid and decided to tip with some cash he had, not much but a little something, even if it was a To-Go order. He gets the receipt and there's an AUTOMATIC 10% tip for to-go orders. Mind boggling and they don't even tell you beforehand so that's not cool. The only reason we decided to come here was just because we were running early errands and this was the only one close enough that opened that early (11:30am). Sticking to our regular sushi spots from now on. IG: @ammysalamii

If you like and enjoy sushi at it finest then this place is for you. This has been our go to place since 2018 Great place great service great dammmmmmm food. I'm never dissatisfied or disappointed but I can tell you this the place around the corner has no competition nor even close to serving the quality of sushi that ASAHI has to offer. Believe me when I say it. This place is EFEN GREAT!!!!!! NOTE: these are only 3 of 10 dishes we had tonight!!!!!!!

I was very disappointed with a recent takeout order. I ordered a salmon salad and the Rock and Roll roll. While the salmon salad was acceptable in portion and value, the Rock and Roll roll, priced at $17.95, fell far short of expectations. The roll pieces were quite small, roughly an inch and a half in diameter, with only six pieces total. More concerning was the lack of actual fish. Despite being advertised as containing salmon, albacore, and tuna, the roll consisted almost entirely of imitation crab mixture, with only a very minimal amount of the fish mentioned. It tasted more like a basic California roll with a hint of fish as an afterthought. I felt genuinely disappointed and overcharged. The overwhelming flavor and texture came from the crab mixture rather than the fish that was advertised. I hope you will take this feedback seriously, as this experience did not reflect the quality I expected for the price.

    Yes but not usually required

Do they have lunch specials and what time?

Been trying to call, is there another number? The one here is busy?

Not that I'm aware of. I always start calling super early in anticipation of constant busy lines. I've found they get overwhelmed with takeout calls very easily

Check your telephone lines! It's been busy! We have been trying to order since last week, can't get through. I have to call the next pizza place to check if you are open or closed! What's going on?

They are still open. The only way I've been successful is by placing my order in person. Maybe they are short of staff?

    Are you open?

    Yes, we are open!

    Do they do reservations?

    No they don't take reservations

Do they offer all you can eat sushi?

No they don't. I wish they did

Do they ever answer the phone?

Hardly ever. I just order for pickup through google.

Do they substitute the seaweed for soy or rice paper on the rolls?

    Yes they do

Are you open for dine in?

Yes. Proof of vaccination is required.

Yelp says they are open til 10:30 but when you go they say they close at 9. Guess they haven't updated their hours??? ):

Safe to say... our sushi craving paid off. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away -- always a great sign when you're about to eat raw fish. The ambiance is modern and sleek, with dark wood tables and TVs throughout, giving it a clean but relaxed vibe. Service was fair overall. Our waitress was friendly, just not quite as attentive as we typically expect at a sushi spot. Nothing terrible -- just noticeable. Now let's talk about what matters: the food. We ordered three rolls: Hot Night (tempura roll) - Shrimp tempura with spicy tuna inside, served with spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side. Absolute banger. The sauces added the perfect touch without overpowering the roll. Orange Roll - Salmon on top with spicy crab inside. We don't usually go for spicy crab, but this one changed our minds. The salmon tasted fresh and clean, and the crab mix wasn't drowned in mayo -- huge plus. Hush Roll - Spicy tuna inside, topped with shrimp and albacore, finished with ponzu. This might've been my favorite. Super fresh, balanced, and flavorful. The slightly sweet shrimp paired perfectly with the albacore and ponzu. If you could've seen my face after that first bite... pure joy. Quality-wise, the fish was on point. Everything tasted fresh, and the combinations worked really well together. Now for the only downside -- price. Each roll was $17, so about $55 after tax for three rolls. Considering spicy tuna and crab aren't premium ingredients, it did feel slightly overpriced. That said, the quality was there. Is it the most mind-blowing sushi I've ever had? No. Was it delicious and satisfying? Absolutely. Will it replace our favorite spot? Probably not. Will we be back when we need a solid FFF (Fresh Fish Fix)? 100%. If you're craving quality sushi with a modern vibe, Sushi Raw delivers.

He knows I love hot pot and instead of our usual 626 hot pot spots, he wanted to choose something new and hip that we've never tried before. He heard from a friend that Tabu Shabu was a good hot pot place so we decided to try it out. The restaurant is located in the corner in a huge plaza, we came on a Friday night and although the plaza was busy, we were able to find a parking spot. Inside the restaurant, you'll either be seated the few tables that they or in the center circular "bar" style seating. It was my first time being at a hot pot place with this style seating, but it was a unique experience. Once seated, we were given menus and quickly asked what we wanted to drink. After the waitress took our order, it took us about 15 minutes for our appetizer to arrive. We ordered spicy edamame and a cucumber salad. The menu was very basic and I wasn't impressed with the broth selection. The standard broth was traditional kombu (literally water with a huge piece of seaweed), miso for additional $1, sukiyaki, for additional $3, and tonkotsu for additional $4. Sounds a bit absurd to me that they would charge extra for the different options when at much better tasting Hot Pot places, the options would all be included in the price. After 20 minutes, one of the waiters noticed that we didn't receive our broth or food and asked us if we ordered yet. We told him that a waitress took our order already but we haven't received our food. Turns out, the waitress took our order but didn't place it in the system yet. I'm hangry at this point, we came to our reservation at 7:30, it's 8:20 at this point and we had plans at 9pm-- so I was a bit annoyed that we had to wait so long. Things were turned around once we received our order though, the broth and food came quickly after she placed our order and the veggie platter section was OK. I'm not the biggest fan of hot pot places that have preselected veggie plates. The veggie plate had a small handful of spinach, a few pieces of napa cabbage, 3 pieces of broccoli, two slices of kabocha pumpkin, a small bunch of enoki mushroom, two pieces of tofu, and some onion slices. It's a nice "variety" but I only like broccoli and mushroom, but because I don't eat rice I had no choice but to eat the veggies to fill me up. I'm happy they offered Shirataki noodles! I chose the large portion and did half chicken half chuck roll. The chuck roll I was given was chewy and fatty. I spat out the chewy parts which was basically majority of the portion I was given. Would I come back here? No, but being from the 626, I have higher expectations for hot pot because I've grown up eating it. This is a good hot pot place for beginner hot pot goers.
