First time trying it even in the valley for 20+ yr.......and this restaurant is amazing. The fish was so fresh and delicious. The uni toast and toro toast are the must order dishes. The scallop was also amazing. Great service and good decor. Great place for a date or thang out with friends.

The quality of their fish is great, you can tell it's fresh and not cheap quality. Their fresh fish rolls are the best you can really taste the quality compared to the baked or fried stuff. Their happy hour does have a lot of good options and honestly the happy hour is what makes it more worth it here, higher quality for normal prices, their regular prices are a bit insane lol. $17-$20 for a roll. Service was so fast we got our food crazy fast. I love the inside of this place, just a nice intimate date vibe, dark and relaxing. Overall enjoy the quality of food here. Will come back again for happy hour lol.

This is a hidden gem in the valley. From the outside I did not expect the interior to look so nice and Japanese style. The sushi omakase was so tasty with different cuts of fish like toro, salmon belly and more. Each one had garnishes like chili oil, yuzu, fresh wasabi, etc. The presentation is stunning. The other items we ordered were also so fresh and tasty like the Toro toast, negitoro mini bowl, and shishito peppers. Fresh and delicious food here !

Asahi Sushi in Granada Hills was such a great find. The quality of the fish really stands out--everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We especially loved the Lemon Yuzu Seared Scallop Crudo (super bright and refreshing) and the Toro Toast, which was rich, buttery, and topped with caviar for an elevated touch. The Osaka Premium Sushi Combo is perfect for sharing and showcases a great variety of delicate, high-quality cuts. They also have a wide selection of rolls, so there's something for everyone. Overall, a solid spot for both classic sushi and unique dishes--definitely coming back!

It is a long time since we had a sushi place more Japanese than others. We felt in Tokyo. The food is totally fresh, delicious, tasty.the service is friendly, they were really busy. The ambiance is super charming Japanese. $price is reasonable. We saw a lot Japanese people there, it is a good sign.

We were looking for a sushi spot after my boys event in Granada hills and this spot has a lot of reviews. As soon as we got here I realized I have been here maybe a couple of years ago. The wait time on a Friday night after 9am was still about 15+ minutes. First thing I noticed was their menus. It's the same template as Koppan Ramen. When we got seated I also noticed the seats/booths are the same. Maybe they used the same designer. Onto the food, my son is in his unagi phase so he got the unagi hand roll and unagi sushi, I got the calamari and soft shell crab to share, my other son got the mini negi toro don and Benjie roll. I got the Snow White roll, halibut and yellow tail roll. Loved the soft shell and the mini toro don. Price was pretty good. Our server Louis was attentive and nice. I flagged another server to check on my order and he got a bit of attitude so docked a star for that. Acoustics is not so good, the table in front of us was a bit loud and I can hear their conversation.

Love coming here for lunch. Great service, great prices, and fresh sushi. Nearly every table was filled with patrons and the service was still spot on while being so crowded.

Met a friend for lunch and we ended up at Asahi honestly, such a solid choice. They have a great selection of lunch specials, and I went with the late lunch box. It came with miso soup, a fresh salad, a sushi roll, and your choice of protein and rice perfectly portioned and super satisfying. Naturally, we couldn't pass up a tall glass of Hite to go with it . Service was on point. We were seated almost immediately, our order was taken quickly, and the food hit the table surprisingly fast (always a win during lunch hours). Heads up: parking can be a little tricky since the shopping center gets pretty congested with neighboring businesses. Overall, great food, efficient service, and a reliable spot for a casual lunch. We'll definitely be back!

Great food fresh sushi and amazing service. It's a perfect date night. Wife stressed out with work so sushi will fixed it. We will be back for some more. All we tried tonight was delish and it's so hard to choose from their menus

Ambiance: Great! Haven't been here for more than 15 years... I was pleasantly surprised at the tasteful remodel! Beautiful booths and softly lit light boxes for their decor was both tasteful and functional. Food was fine, no complaints. Service was also good. I think that the money invested in the interior is being paid for by the customer. The food was presented well, but the quality and execution was neither good or bad.

My friend has eaten here plenty of times and recommended it to me. I met her for lunch and today was my first time dining here. There was no wait at all and parking was easy (plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot... no charge). We got seated right away and the staff and our server (Koko) were very friendly and attentive. As far as the food, the sushi was just ok. Overly priced although I heard their prices use to be a lot lower prior to remodeling. I eat sushi often and I've had better for less. They definitely have a lot of options on the menu (something for everyone).

Though Asahi Sushi has been around for such a long time, today was my first time giving it a proper chance and I am soooo happy I did. I definitely see it becoming one of my favorite sushi spots. There's a very classy but cozy vibe to the ambiance, staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious! I really loved the spicy garlic edamame and out of all the rolls we ordered, the Pink Lady was my favorite. All of the fish was super fresh and I think all of the rolls we ordered had a great combination of ingredients. The price seemed to be pretty standard for most à la carte sushi restaurants and for the quality and flavor, it's definitely worth it.

Please try their Ankimo, monkfish liver! Also their crudo special, the one with scallop. Sushi combo is also awesome. Cozy environment; good for family or eat alone.

The good: Bora Bora Luau Roll, Balboa roll, spicy tuna, spicy albacore, energy roll, red dragon roll, green dragon roll. :)

    Yes but not usually required

Do they have lunch specials and what time?

Not that I'm aware of. I always start calling super early in anticipation of constant busy lines. I've found they get overwhelmed with takeout calls very easily

Check your telephone lines! It's been busy! We have been trying to order since last week, can't get through. I have to call the next pizza place to check if you are open or closed! What's going on?

They are still open. The only way I've been successful is by placing my order in person. Maybe they are short of staff?

    Are you open?

    Yes, we are open!

    Do they do reservations?

    No they don't take reservations

Do they offer all you can eat sushi?

No they don't. I wish they did

Do they ever answer the phone?

Hardly ever. I just order for pickup through google.

Do they substitute the seaweed for soy or rice paper on the rolls?

    Yes they do

Are you open for dine in?

Yes. Proof of vaccination is required.

Yelp says they are open til 10:30 but when you go they say they close at 9. Guess they haven't updated their hours??? ):

Staff was just as friendly as before, and the place still has that lived-in, homey charm. I ordered a pair of tacos: BBQ Beef and Crispy Shrimp. Both come with shredded cabbage, sliced jalapeños, cilantro and a creamy, mayo-based sauce. The shrimp taco worked perfectly, with a crispy, tasty coating giving way to plump, fresh shrimp. The sauce melded into the cabbage, almost making a slaw you might get on a po' boy, and the peppers added a nice heat. I added a squeeze of fresh lemon, and that rounded things out nicely. It was a great bite of seafood. The BBQ Beef was less successful. The mayo and an extra dollop of chipotle mayo were too much for the small taco, and overtook the flavor of the beef. The beef had a nice flavor, but was a bit too dry, and had been chopped a bit too finely -- I would have liked larger pieces to really enjoy the flavor. In fact, others were eating the BBQ Beef plate, and the beef there looked far more appealing. So, I'm not discouraged. I'll come back for the full plate treatment, and see how things stack up. I still think this is a great place that deserves your attention and support. Good people.

That side is named Kusina Ni Kuya and has a vast catering menu. I came here for a carry out from the Cajun side and picked as I did before, the half pound shrimp. The only difference is this time, I opted for the peeled version. This was prepared in the house Kuya sauce, medium spicy, with an extra of boiled okra. The dish did not disappoint and was consistent in texture and flavor, and a glorious mixture of spices as before. This entrée has a lot of oil added to it, but that is what brings out this burst of taste and satisfaction. Everything was soaked with the thick sauce. This time what I did at home was, I boiled a few golden premium small potatoes with skin, sliced them into quarters and added it to the mix. Once it soaked up the gravy of the shrimp dish, the potatoes ascended to a totally different level. So how does the peeled version compare to the whole shrimp version? I would say that the whole shrimp selection is the way to go. The meat is not overcooked and you get the flavor off the shrimp shells too, that kicks it up more than a notch. In addition, the fact that you have to use your fingers to get to the shrimp meat (though messy), heightens the pleasure of the dining experience.
