Having no way to reach him, I shotgunned calls to other dentists in the East Honolulu area and fortunately Dr. Weiss could see me that day. She took very good care of the emergency I had. Since then, Dr. Weiss has been taking excellent care of all my dental needs for the past few years. She is very knowledgable and addresses my dental issues with a high degree of professionalism and expertise. I am very comfortable with her being my dentist from here on out. So much so that I have recommended multiple family members to her. The waiting room, dental hygienist, and procedure rooms are all clean and much more modern than my prior dentist. Appointments have been on time and the front desk staff have always been nice to me. Also nice about this place is that they are located in the Kahala Mall professional building where there is ample free parking around the building and the mall. I dont know if Dr. Weiss is taking new patients at this time, but if she is and you are looking for a dentist, I strongly recommend giving her a try.

Poor Dad had to get his 3-tooth bridge and another tooth extracted since they were both loose. Dr. Chong was very kind and patient and easy to speak with. He was always asking the patient if he was okay or felt any pain. You can tell that Dr. Chong did everything he could to minimize/eliminate as much pain and discomfort as possible. He put a big glob of numbing gel on Dad's gum before applying the anesthetic via needle. He wasn't holding back on applying the anesthetic over several areas. I had a dentist once that grumbled because he had to give me another shot. Dr. Chong was very good about communicating with the nurses. Dad is in good hands. Hoping we don't have to deal with any more dental issues, but if we do, at least we can go to Dr. Chong!

Is it better to write a review right after the procedure? In my opinion, not always. As someone who's written countless reviews as a long-time Yelp Elite, I believe it's important to observe the healing process before offering a genuine evaluation--especially for something as delicate as dental implants. Now, my candid impressions. The first thing that struck me was how intimately Dr. Yoo understood the condition of my oral health--perhaps even better than I did. After only a short period, I felt I could truly trust him. My case wasn't a straightforward single implant. It involved a sinus lift and bone grafting, and the entire procedure lasted about 3 hours. There were moments when the sounds of the tools made me tense up, but the anesthesia worked perfectly, and I felt minimal pain throughout. Surprisingly, those three hours didn't feel that long. Either I have a high pain tolerance, or Dr. Yoo's technique is simply that exceptional. In Honolulu, procedures like this usually require separate appointments with various specialists. Under Dr. Yoo's care, everything was streamlined--from extraction to implant placement--all under one roof. Getting the implant placed immediately after extraction? That was a first, even for me, despite already having five or six implants. Post-op recovery felt efficient and smooth. I had three follow-up appointments, and each time I was given a clear assessment of how things were progressing. The healing stitches were visible for a while, but now even my gum line is gradually smoothing out. At the end of October, I'll be getting my final check-up and the much-anticipated crown, custom-designed under Dr. Yoo's supervision. I can already tell it's going to be something special. Sarah and Albright respond to me so quickly and they always find a way to help me get the care I need Dr. Fujii has been working on my denture process for 7 months now. I had no idea how often I would be in this office working towards my end goal- now that I'm learning, I'm so glad that this is the team I chose! Dr. Fujii is warm and never tires of my endless questions and requests. He demonstrates a level of patience that I rarely experience with doctors these days. He also has a great sense of humor, so I enjoy my time at the office. My dentures are a work in progress, but we are getting there by working together. My temporary dentures are great and I'm confident that I'll be well taken care of and happy with my final results! Also-Dr. Fujii makes things affordable and does not overcharge. Upsells fluoride and oral cancer check as separate charges of I think $60 each, had to take 19…read moreX-rays for my fist visit (my usual dentist only has to take a handful), conned into getting a deep cleaning for my gums b/c I thought I had gum infection but they didn't tell me until the first gum deep cleaning session that the protrusion is just my bone, got a total of 13 anesthetic shots just to deep clean my gums, I can just use my metal pick and get virtually the same effect, my gums were even worse after the deep clean b/c they went too far and made the pockets bigger, I had to rinse with salt water afterwards but that didn't help enough so I ended up getting Dr. Schulze's oral rinse which was great, they said they only accept my 50% share of the payment immediately after the deep cleaning of the gums which is unprecendented as every other healthcare service bills after insurance kicks in or at least can wait a little while before I have to pay them, also tried to upsell me braces on my first visit but I'm 36 years old and my teeth are pretty decent, they said it would help me keep my gums clean because my lower front teeth are crowded together (it's not even that bad), their practice overall seems a little old-fashioned and behind the times and uncomfortable overall for the patient. I went to another dentist in 2022 and they tried to schedule me to replace all my fillings I've had since I was a kid. I didn't do it and in 2025 I started feeling sensitivity in one of my fillings I've had for over 20 years. I thought it was coming loose. I went to get it checked out here - they scheduled me same day and he said honestly that it looks good and did not recommend I replace it. Was very kind and reassuring. Does not try to make money off of you. I came in thinking I needed to spend a lot of money because I don't have insurance and left spending a lot less than I thought I would.
