Just a hot dog window on the sidewalk with limited standing tables outside. Quite a diverse and creative menu. I respected the quality; quite filling too! Chicago Dog: I'm normally a NY style hot dog type of guy (e.g. Gray's Papaya), but I can respect the Chicago Dog. Since it seemed so pretty in the photos, decided to give theirs a try. It was definitely packed with flavors. I especially liked the flavors from the pickles, peppers and celery salt. Though to be honest, the onions and relish were nice too. Also, loved the split dog way of cooking, since there's more seared surface area.

The Chicago beef dog. No relish on mine. Nice spice level with the yellow peppers.

Randomly wanted a hotdog and found this place. Did not disappoint. The owner, Daddy, was super cool and a great conversationalist. Will definitely comeback.

Amazziiiinnnnng hot dogs. My boyfriend took me here when it was raining like crazy and I'm so glad he did. The owner was so friendly and gave us complimentary bottles of water. He was very friendly and conversational and we appreciated his hospitality. Great vibes. Can't wait to go back.

We tried this place a few nights ago and got the Seattle and Chicago dogs. I personally enjoyed the Seattle one more. The Chicago was a little too sour for me since it had pickles and pickled peppers. When it's not busy, it does not look opened lol we were confused until we saw someone inside. I'm assuming it's the owner that runs the store. He likes to crack jokes and is a bit sarcastic.

Best wiener in town. Yesterday was National Chili Dog Day. I couldn't make it here and ended up at a place that cannot properly build a hot dog. Stopped by Daddy's for a Gamecock and some redemption! Always fast & friendly. It is a walk up only place with a couple of tables out front to enjoy your eats. Happy Belated Chili Dog Day!

This is one of my favorite places to get a quick lunch. The dogs are fantastic! There are a few different styles of dogs so you're sure to find something you love! The service is always fast and friendly. It's a walk up window right on university, with a couple of stand up tables to eat at. I usually get a regular chili dog, but he's got a variety of delicious choices. Love the logo too!

I want to say the hot dog itself was amazing. I really wanted to get another one, but I would not due to the service. It was about 8pm and cold, I was holding my little niece sleep in my arms and when I asked what is the "Russian sauce" and I got the rudest response, a smart ass response. Then a long explanation on how I'm supposed to ask. I placed my order and he was staring at my sister and I let him know that we were paying separate and he was like I know I want to cook at the same time. And repeated several times you can pay separate. It made it to the point it was kind of uncomfortable, and I did not want to go back and order again. The hot dog was so good and I wish my experience was better.

Whenever I need a hotdog fix I always go to Daddy's Hotdogs. They are so simple yet delicious. Nothing frilly and over the top, just some consistently good hotdogs. It's super quick and if you want to eat right away there are a couple standing tables out front. I'm pretty sure it's the owner who is always there working and he is the nicest person. Always friendly and gave me a quarter once so I didn't have to watch the meter. I always order the Chicago dog no mustard and it never disappoints. I've tried the Seattle, the O, the Manhattan and a couple others. All are delicious. This is my go to spot for a quick hot dog in San Diego.

This place is a 1-man show for hotdogs and so it may take some time to get your food. That being said, this is a great place to get a no-frill hot dog. The menu has a lot of good choices that range from classic choices to slight variations with some unique additions. Most hotdogs range from $6-7. They aren't the biggest portions so you could probably eat 2-3 if you're really hungry. 1 is a perfect size for a hearty-sized snack. I went with the "O" which comes with bacon, grilled onions, jalapeño relish, Russian dressing, tomatoes, and some cracked black pepper on top. It was really delicious and simple! I would have gladly ordered more it was so good. The Chicago Dog was also really tasty and a good blend of savory, sweet, and tart.

Very good! I love Ben's in Newport RI and this reminds me of that spot. This is not dine-in restaurant and I believe it's family owned. One man was working when I arrived. I think this has potential to get backed up if a line forms. I ordered the Alexander and Gamecock. Loved both! Pricing is not bad. I highly recommend trying it out for your hotdog fix. Also, they have great packaging:)

So, I can't express how much it meant to me to see a plant based option on this menu when I passed by at the OB Farmers market. AND it was cheaper than the regular options!! Only $5! I thought maybe it was a mistake or outdated but when they rang me up, it really was only $5- for something just as loaded as the regular version. I'm used to seeing vegan options being the more expensive option, so this was really appreciated. The veggie dogs were great. If I could get this again, I'd probably skip the chorizo or ask for half as much because it was pretty salty. They definitely leave some seeds in the jalapeños so skip that if you can't handle heat. It comes sauces that are mayo based (except for the mustard and ketchup), so leaving those off will yield you a vegan friendly dog. Thank you Gus Doggos.

Yet, it stands out as one of my favorites, and I find myself ordering from them frequently. One of the things you will notice as soon as you approach the place is how clean and net their food truck is. Their menu features burgers, corn dogs, fries, and more, all with a twist and a variety of flavorful options. Among my personal favorites are the Goblin's Club and Jalapeno Popper Corn Dog. The corn dogs are notably large, with a batter that's never oily, always maintaining a tender and flavorful quality. The Animal fries, a perfect side to burgers and corn dogs, are never overly salty, and the generous portions of golden, perfectly cooked fries are a must-try. The Classic Burger and The Jesse Burger are standout choices, boasting substantial sizes with soft and fluffy buns. The sauces and flavors elevate them above your typical burgers - vegan or not. I like that they came out at just the right temperature too (vs other places are super hot and you need to take time to cool before eating). The only thing I was sad about was I got a full sausage this time, thinking it would be the regular size... but my partner's half mozz half sausage was much larger. I guess the size of sausage doesn't change - they just add mozz to the top for the half and half. I felt a bit shortchanged due to that (minus one star). Place is small but clean, and they've structured it in a way where there's still plenty of small tables around. We had a table easily, and the food and drinks (via Urban Bubbles, operating out of the same kitchen) came out fairly quickly. Parking is definitely hard. It's a tiny lot and paid parking. This might be my own skills issue, because while well traveled I am not up on Korean food as much as say Lao or even Peranakan food. I've been a slow adopter so to speak. So damn sweet! The hot Cheeto does nothing, the dirty sauce is just super sweet. No depth, no acid, not even creamy. But people FREAKING love it! I can't fault the staff or execution. My meal (potato and dirty fries which were totally) were made fresh! Things were hot and fresh as promised. Just sickeningly sweet and lacking and sort of flavors I personally am into. Even a regular corn dog has depth of the corn meal my food don't have. It's a thing. I can't knock them because I got what I ordered. I just feel the whole scene isn't for anyone who likes depth of flavor if even in a bit of spice/smoke or any acid at all. It's basically sugar. Sugar everything! I say go and give it a whirl, but it might be for certain tastebuds who like everything SUPER sweet. Not for me, but plenty of fans out it there. The setup was a simple cart under a canopy in a random parking lot on El Cajon Blvd. A few picnic tables with overhead cover were available if you wanted to eat your food on-site. Five different hot dogs along with french fries and a stuffed jalapeno pepper were offered on the menu. A typical Sonoran hot dog has a bacon-wrapped frank topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and other condiments. It's served on a bolillo bun. The Hot Dog Regular here contained bacon, grilled onion, red onion, tomato, and mayonnaise on a football-shaped bun which made it the closest resemblance to an original Sonoran. I chose two other varieties for my to-go order, a Hot Dog Jumbo and a Hot Dog Chilidogo. The first one had the same ingredients as the Regular with ham and American cheese added. The second one also had the same ingredients as the Regular, however the bacon-wrapped frank was stuffed inside a California pepper with grilled mozzarella cheese on top. Trays of condiments were arranged in front of the cart so you could select additional toppings. Four different sauce bottles were also available for more flavor. As you can see from my photo, both hot dogs were buried under the other components. The right type of bun was used which was very soft. I did feel that a gratuitous amount of mayonnaise was drizzled on top. I didn't add more toppings or sauces because there was already a sufficient spread. I am unsure if there are other businesses in the SD area that serve Sonoran-style hot dogs as I have not actively searched for them. I can say that the products I tasted from Ochidoggy were good enough for a four star rating.
