It was absolutely beautiful, well appointed, and had everything I needed to enjoy a comfortable stay and respite. Parking was very easy right in front of the complex. It is located within a nice easy stroll from Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach. The Villa itself is the most private in the complex, and surrounded by lush landscaping. The grounds are very clean, immaculate and well-maintained. Trash and recycling receptacles are well hidden but still accessible. Inside the Villa, I was greeted with a pitcher of ice-cold and refreshing fruit juice. It was so delicious, and I'm glad I was able to enjoy it throughout my stay. The 2-bedroom Villa is beautifully furnished with newer kitchen appliances, dining table and chairs, ceiling fans, air conditioners, comfortable sofa and large screen TV, a queen bed in the Master, and a king bed in the second bedroom. There's also a TV monitor in the Masters bedroom. The centerpiece for me was the Jacuzzi hot tub, located in the master bathroom; the master bathroom is not very large, but the jacuzzi tub with rainfall showerhead head was my little slice of Heaven inside the Villa. It was also equipped with BBQ grill, beach chairs, and books to read. I treated myself to an in-room Lomi Lomi massage and facial. Call Vanessa at Garden Island Massage for more information! The innkeepers were not on the premises when I arrived or throughout my stay, as they were away, but they were always very communicative and responsive. Herb especially was very gracious. One suggestion for travelers, book ahead. I recently tried to make another reservation with short notice, and they were sold out. I hope to return one day soon. There is a restaurant on site, no air but good food! The beach sunsets were amazing and it's nice to have access to laundry. My only recommendation is to get bigger outdoor tables so a family of 5 or larger can sit together for a meal. It would also be nice for a cozy sofa or hammock on the patios! Overall I would stay here again!

This place is beautiful, amazing, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. In my opinion, it's even better than a "luxury" resort. It feels like you've stepped back in time to an era before technology took over, while still having all the comforts you could want. Each cottage has air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a TV, along with a full kitchen equipped with almost anything you could think of--a rice cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (with coffee!), tea kettle, and even a blender. And if you choose, you can leave the screen door open and fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing all night. It's truly a special place, and I can't wait to come back!

The entire staff was exceptional especially the Front Desk Manager Lena. She was so nice all the way up to our arrival answering all my questions to make the trip special and she even offered us a special accommodation just to simply our stay. The hotel itself is very centrally located, about 20-25 minutes from the airport and other small towns to explore for sights and food. It was so nice to stay somewhere where it's so intimate, that the valets, front desk and restaurant personnel all knew us by name! We had an oceanfront suite and loved feeling like the ocean was part of our backyard. And my light sleeper husband was very grateful for the primarily adult guests because it was unusually quiet for a vacation hotel. :).

The restaurant on-site, Red Salt, has delicious (but pricey) brunch and dinner. The pool bar is convenient (but also pricey). Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a very nice bathroom and a huge television. There was a free bottle of white wine in the fridge when we checked in. The room keys in the form of waterproof wristbands are a nice touch. It was mostly adults staying here and very few families with children, which is what we wanted for our mini-moon. Cons: The parking is Valet only. The pool is relatively small. The chairs around it fill up fast when it's busy. If a pool chair opens up, you can't get your own fresh towels/chair cover and have to wait for someone to come through with a cart to swap them out. You can't access the beach directly from the resort; on a map it looks like you can access Kiahuna beach, but you actually have to climb down from the boardwalk onto it (I did not want to do this and walked to Poipu Beach instead). The food is expensive and the "happy hour" drinks are $19. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a beautiful location!

The room was fantastic and slept my family of 5 well. Well stocked for cooking. My biggest complaint was the "Mountain View" is more like a parking lot and grocery store view. Also, if you're a lite sleeper, the roosters and road noise will keep you awake. I won't miss the roster crow at 4 am.

The room was a bit cozy for my liking, 2 queen beds for the three of us (hubby and 19 yr old son), but it did its job. We were mostly out. The plus was the lanai. We had a 2nd floor room, considered an ocean view but it faced the restaurant (lava lava club) and open field. There is a quiet time enforced so it doesn't get noisy after 9 pm. But you also get to enjoy the live music from the restaurant. There are water filling stations which is fabulous! Tip- use the one in the lobby! It comes out a lot cooler. You wake up to waves and can walk the shore or sit and enjoy the sunrise. Or opposite: watch the sunset! A short walk from coconut marketplace- enjoy shaved ice, eat at a restaurant, shop at various boutiques. Check out ABC country market- food, souvenirs, snacks, musubis, gelato and more! Cons: The shower pressure needs to be turned up. The AC works well but the bright light of the temperature kept me up. I wish we could turn that off. The tv guide wasn't working and we had to press the channel button up or down to watch. This is a nice choice if you're looking to stay in Kapaa. I would absolutely stay here again.

Four suites in the house overall, and it's right across the street from the Big Save Supermarket and several restaurants, plus within walking distance to other eateries and points of interest. One bedroom, one bathroom, and then the living room with a mini-refrigerator, a sofa, two soft chairs and a TV (which I did not use the majority of the time I was there because I was out and about during the 2 days/nights). There is on-site parking available and also out in front right off the road. To check-in, you will want to go to the West Kauai Lodging offices located at 9600 Kaumualii HWY #MC2, Waimea, HI 96796. It's right next door to the only traffic light in Waimea Town. They will give you the keys to get into the main entrance and then into your room. For security reasons, they want you to lock the bolt every time you go in and out. If I stay in West Kauai, I would certainly consider staying here again!

The toilet and shower are in one room and then a double sink outside that and across from the weirdly laid out kitchen which is basically all along one wall. There is no dining table, just two barstools at the counter and seating for four around a low coffee table. There is not enough storage space at all.... Two small drawers in a wardrobe unit in the bedroom. There is no way you could store clothes for four people in the place. The studio is really cramped, with even less space in the "kitchen" - there's no way I could stay in that space. The pool by the ocean, on the hotel side is too small given the number of rooms and people. The pool by the villas is a much better size but there is no food service over there. The grilling area needs to be cleaned everyday and it is not. The tables are disgustingly dirty.

Many details are attended to; the owners' love of this property is apparent. I especially liked the herb garden out back--the mint, chives, dill, and lettuce were put to good use! Two things that people should know: --NO air-conditioning. There are fans, but when it's muggy outside, fans blow muggy air around. --The bedrooms share a wall, which isn't soundproof. Overall, I loved it. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
