This place is awesome. My girlfriend and I rented a Yamaha xt250 and took it all the way to Waimea canyon. The bike was in great condition and ran perfectly. Ross delivered it to us and picked it up on time. Will definitely rent from him next time we're here.

Simple online process. The staff was friendly and taught us how to work the mopeds with a easy hands on training before we started our moped adventure! Very fun and convenient with moped drop off to your hotel!

It was very easy to book the moped online. They sent me follow up emails and called me once I was in town to arrange drop off. It's great that they bring the moped right to you and then give you a lesson on the spot to help you feel comfortable on the bike. After a couple of practice rounds I was ready to go. I've used the moped 2 days in a row and have enjoyed the freedom, views and island air. You get to places a little faster and can dip into side roads to explore. I did find it a little risky riding the moped on the highway, but generally most vehicles are aware and do their best to give you space, while there are the rare few who don't want mopeds on the road. I did my best to stay in the bike lanes and stay to the right, so that worked out. It's a good choice for local trips, but be aware there's is a lot of vehicles traffic on this island. One more thing re: the service; I think it's great that they drop off and pick up the moped from wherever you're staying.

A great way to see the island. To get anywhere interesting, you have to be willing to white knuckle it down the highway for a bit. Really enjoyed the shorter trip up to Opeka Falls and beyond on those country roads. Also, the backroad between Poipu and Koloa were a Hawaii fantasy. Finally, drive through the Marriott property--low traffic, fantastic views. Friendly and convenient drop off/pick up service. We were surprised by how sore our tooshies were and the amount of sun we got. A great experience!

Kauai Moped was a great, well organized business they both dropped off and picked up the bikes from the condo we were staying at. We were so happy with the price and the service that we ended up renting for another day. The owners were great to us and I would highly recommend their business to anyone looking to rent bikes and rip around the island. We got the Suzuki 650s and were very happy with their performance, perfect bikes for the island.

My boyfriend called and within an hour and a half, Russ and Tracy were dropping off 2 mopeds to our condo in Princeville.

After seeing the very favorable reviews on renting from Holoholo, we decided to try them out on our…read morerecent Kauai vacation. We were excited to take a family ride up the bike trail, which we've done many times before with other providers. I'll jump to the reason for this zero star review. Service - the young man at the checkin desk was of zero help in adjusting seats, handle bars (both rusted shut) or adjusting our 8 year old's helmet. Selection - the absolute worst inventory of bikes I've witnessed on our multiple trips to Kauai. Every one was full of rust and looked like they were retrieved from the landfill. The Keiki bike's chain came off twice going up the hill and one of the adult bikes chain came off - both bikes had to be replaced (took almost an hour to receive the replacements). Value - prices were similar to other shops, but we've never experienced this many problems with any bike rentals on Kauai. My son-in-law requested a refund and after a heated discussion by phone where he was verbally berated by the owner (he also severely berated his employee) he granted him a partial refund. BUT not before the owner called him a scammer and said he would not have replaced the bikes (both broken down with no chain) had he known he would request a refund! WOW! Just a word of advice to any potential renters - go check out the place and its inventory BEFORE renting from Holoholo. We love Kauai and use local vendors whenever possible but WE WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS PLACE!!

All i brought with me were my swim fins and an extra bicep leash I had. I was looking for a legit bodyboard rental and the shops I had been to and/or the beach side rental shacks had boards that just werent up to par. I was down the road at Tamba buying tees and the guy there (thankfully) referred me to Kapaa Beach Shop when I asked if he knew of any places that had quality bodyboard rentals. He told me Mike at KBS rented Mike Stewart Science Bodyboards.... The look of shock on my face was probably photo worthy. I couldnt believe the type of place I had been looking for was just down the road. It was already my 2nd time in Kapaa by that point. Kapaa Beach Shop is on your right side along Kuhio Highway if you are coming from the Lihue area. It's right after Chicken in a Barrel BBQ. It has about 4 dedicated spaces out front in its gravel driveway. They rent everything from beach umbrellas, chairs, bicycles, diving and snorkeling gear... You name it. You need it for the beach, he has it. It was jamming with customers the both times I went there but Mike was gracious and helpful with all of us. I was able to rent a hybrid Mike Stewart Science bodyboard which I used at a few beaches on the island. It was great. Thick board with lots of float to it, making catching waves easier. It also came with a Gyroll bicep leash... It was like a setup I would gladly have every day back home. I'm thankful to Mike for the Aloha and just being super cool in providing a quality rental. We chatted it up a bit and you can tell he is legit and really knows his stuff. I HIGHLY recommend you go see Mike at Kapaa Beach Shop for all your beach rental needs. He is the man. Mahalos Mike! Shout out to Chaos the shop dog at KBS. Chee!
