I came back here a few weeks ago to get my fill done and i have to say, they do a great job but not worth the price! $55 for a fill is ridiculous! They are clean and do quality work but i cannot justify paying that price!! Plus there posted prices are not the true prices and when asked, they say those are not the updated price. I've been here a few times and sometimes they were okay, but today was just pitiful. My friend and I went in and were served by a guy and girl. Both of them were awful. The guy (who did my friend's nails) couldn't do nails to save his life and the girl (who did my nails) was so fast she was done before I could blink. She started 7 minutes after my friend, stopped for about 5 minutes to go do someone else's manicure, then came back and finished at the same time as my friend's pedicure. Love this salon. The technicians are all talented. I especially like the 3D technique they offer. I have vyet to find a salon on the mainland that has this skill. I make sure and go multiple times while on Kauai. I never leave the island without having my nails done. If there was a review lower than one star, that would be my review. You never know if you're going to walk out mildly satisfied or pissed off. The techs here range from good to horrible, and most are average. They do not care about providing good customer service--as long as they can slap some polish on you, that's all they need to do. The polish they use is cheap and the color selection is poor. It's a nail mill. You'll pay a lot and leave very disappointed! read more

Not impressed. Gel nails are overpriced for the poor quality - unevenly trimmed and painted. We were the first customers of the day and there were nail clippings on the floor. Utensils did not look very clean and the light box was very dirty. (Which somehow seems to be the standard, not only here but some mainland nail salons I've been as well.) read more

My daughter (10 years old) was ripped off by these thieves. She called and was told the cost would be $40 inclusive for what she wanted but was charged $55 after the service. I called the owner but she has yet to return my call. Ripping off kids for a few extra bucks is shameful. read more

Went there to get my nails done, acrylic, but my cuticles started to bleed and the guy tried to cover it up since I was watching the tv. They didn't give me no discount whatsoever and never apologized. My nails are also badly painted and it barely goes to my cuticles. Went in for a quick Nail polish change and was told I'd have to await 30 mins... which was fine. I'm here for a week of vacay and want my toes to look pretty. The gal that told me to pick a color scolded me for having too many bottles in my hand that that I'd be charged for them if I dropped them. She then proceeded to tell me that they do not do any nail art even though I clearly saw samples of nail art. The polish was slapped on, the Gal was as rude as could be and didn't even help me put my flip flops on so I wouldn't ruin the polish. I just feel that for a service industry in a tourist community they could have been a heck of a lot kinder & courteous!!! My daughter and I arrived on Kauai with unpainted and calloused feet (YIKES!) so we needed pedicures fast! I called for an appointment and was able to get in within the half hour for two seats. I absolutely love Kaua'i Nail and Spa! Before this nail salon opened, I have been going to Professionail at Kukui Grove in Lihue. You can dramatically see the difference in the two salons. The staff at KNS are excellent. They are very polite and it seems as though they genuinely care about their customers. Everytime I visit, I get a great quality job done on my nails. Not only is their hospitality great, but the place is clean and always tidy. Other than nail services, they also offer waxing service as well - which is awesome! Jessica does my eyebrows, and they do both services very well! I really appreciate the nail techs at Kaua'i Nail and Spa. I would give them a 5/5! read more

Absolutely awful experience here. I stopped in for manicure and they treated me like I was a stupid tourist from the moment I walked in. I asked my husband to bring me cash because I know it's preferred for payment and tip. He came in and I asked what the price of the manicure was so he could give me the appropriate amount of cash... After about 30 seconds of giggling and talking they told me a price $1.00 more than the price on the board (I couldn't see it from the chair I was in otherwise I wouldn't have asked, but I saw it on the way out). The woman doing my nails talked and laughed the whole time, occasionally looking up to give me dirty looks. The final straw was when I asked her to cut some hangnails off and she refused, grabbed my hand, and dragged my arm over to the guy in the chair next to her to show him, laughing at my request. I literally put a 20 down and walked out. I have never been treated so poorly at a nail salon in my life. I was so upset, I paid and tipped for a service I was unhappy with because I didn't want to sit there another minute. Avoid this place. I'm sure there are plenty of nicer, more friendly places to go on Kauai that presumably want your business. read more

Not sure about the negative reviews. However... when you get a pedicure here. You sit down, and pick what type of pedicure you want. It has the price list right there. So there is no confusion. I usually get the $60 one. It is amazing. I LOVE Annie for my pedicures. Jessica and Mai are incredible for nails... and very artistic. Franny has a room there to do your brows and other waxing and/or eyelash extension and even microblading. Am sitting in my PLUSH leather spa pedi-console and recieving an Honest to goodness foot and leg massage. How did I not know that this awesome place has existed for 7 months? Atmosphere on a Monday afternoon is quiet with smooth Sade in the background. A nice change from the hustle and bustle of the more centrally located establishment I usually go to. Tip to Lihue folks, a 15 min drive to Waipouli may be worth the PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE and EXCELLENT SERVICE. Facilities are immaculate and new (7 mos). The pedi consoles are a plush tan leather with supple cushioning and built in massage function. My service provider is excellent and not doing my massage halfway. I expect my pedicure will be done with care and precision as well. read more

My mom, sister and I had our nails done here for my wedding and I was very disappointed in the service my mom received. A man did her manicure and pedicure and was very rude to her because she could not understand what he was saying as he had broken english. He also kept asking my mom for my sisters number and asking her if she was single which was very awkward and unprofessional. He was also so unbelievably slow that my sister and I were waiting around for so long after we had our nails done waiting for our mom. So not the stress I needed before my wedding! read more

My partner and I came into the spa today and were told there was a 30-40 minute wait. We signed up, went for a short walk, and then came back to the salon to wait. We've had acceptable service there before, although we knew they weren't very friendly. While we waited, two male technicians finished their clients and then proceeded to play on their phones while we sat there waiting. The two female workers were with clients. No one paid any attention to us or acknowledged that we were there. After one hour, another female customer came in and ask if they could possibly fit her in. Immediately, one of the male technicians jumped up and took her right over to a chair. It became evident to us that the male technicians would NOT serve male clients or they would not serve gay clients. No explanations were given to us at all. We left, never to return. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They are rude, dismissive, and (apparently) the male technicians refuse service to men. read more

Then I had to ask the chick to change her gloves after she worked on some ladies feet next to me, and she laughed at me like I was crazy. I took my wedding party here to get our nails done for my wedding after seeing such nice pictures and great reviews, and they did make our nails pretty, however there were a few issues to say the least... first off, I made the appointment months in advance for the four of us and when we came in they told us one of the chairs was broken so one of us would have to start with our mani while the other three would get started on our pedis.. now I understand that the broken chair was not their fault, but they had four stations on one side of the broken chair and we were placed on the other side where there were only three chairs.. they should have made sure that the four chairs were available for my wedding party instead of us being separated the whole time. My other issue was that they couldn't do the design that we had a photo reference of for my bridesmaids, I wish they would have just told us that they didn't know how to do it and we would have picked another design.. they still came out cute I guess, but one of my girls ended up doing her own design on one of her nails (which she actually did a way better job than they did) and they still charged her full price! I have to say I was really pleased with my design for my wedding nails, however, the girl cut my cuticles wayyy too short and my thumbs wouldn't stop bleeding! I have NEVER had that happen! And I get my nails done all the time!!! To top things off, they forgot to put gel coat on the design so on the day of my wedding the whole design came off one of my nails! I had to have someone rush out and buy some clear coat to save the rest of my nails! That is just completely unacceptable for a $180 mani and pedi!!!! My girls mani and pedis were $130 which I felt so horrible since they were mediocre and one of them didn't even get a design added to her toes! read more

I went here the day of my sister's wedding when we were in Kauai. We made appointments in advance. When we got there, they said they didn't have time to do the services we requested appointments for. We decided to just go with it and I opted for a polish change on my finger nails and toe nails. The man that did my nails was rough, and the entire experience was kind of painful. The salon was not clean. There were finger nail clippings left from the last person who was there. The person who did my sister's gel nail polish had never done it before, so it was a disaster and had to be redone. So we were there for an extra hour. On top of that they charged me $52 for a polish change, and over $100 for my sister's pedicure and gel polish. Over priced, dirty, inexperienced. Don't waste your time or money, there has to be a better place on the island. read more

I had been going to this nail salon since they opened. A few weeks ago I went in to have my gel nails removed , the technician filed the gel off of my nails using the Dremel filing tool. Now my nails are paper thin all the way down the nail bed. When my nails grow out I have to cut them off because they are so thin they tear like paper. I called the salon and spoke to Anthony and told him that the guy that did my nails did not use the soaking method to remove the gel. He told me that I was a liar then hung up on me. Been going here for years for pedicures. I bring my daughters and mom to get services done here with no problem. Yesterday was the worst service I received by any business ever! A male older technician (Don) was not gentle with my toes and his sharp instrument. Before he applied the polish, during the 'cleaning' stage of the services, he cut the side of my toenail and it started bleeding. I've informed him that it started bleeding and it hurt & he apologized. I continued with the service thinking this type of thing happens at times so did not make a scene. After he applied the nail polish, some polish got on my skin near the cut. Instead of using a gentle brush to clean it up, he grabs the same sharp tool to clean the polish off my skin where the cut was & it caused more pain to the area!! I informed him that he just made it worse but he apologized. Again, not causing a scene, he apologized, and I just wanted to leave so I could soak my toe in alcohol. While he was ringing me up (yes, he charged me), he asked if I wanted to leave a tip!!! That is when I lost my cool and reminded him what he did and did not deserve a tip, he made my bleed twice, and was not happy with the service he provided. Never going back there again!! I did not get upset about the bleeding or the pain, but the expectation of receiving a tip after the poor and neglectful service he provided. Please go somewhere else to get your pedicures done!! So disappointing to treat your loyal customers that way, not a good business practice. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I unfortunately have had several very unpleasant experiences at this nail salon. They DO NOT TAKE APPOINTMENTS PERIOD. They discriminate and will not take appointments if you aren't a local and appear to be a tourist. I have called several times asking if they were busy, or if I could make an appointment but they insist on "walk ins only". (I live far away and have young children so using my time wisely is important). Every time I walk in there's a 30-45 minute wait. Plus the service is extremely slow. I am a busy mom with a busy life. So, taking 2 hours out of my day to get my nails done is absurd. Yet, they will sit and reserve times for regulars that come in and they get service immediately. Their costumer service is severally poor, do not speak english, and are rude while sitting down. My woman checked her phone about every minute and had conversations with her young son on his ipad. I left crying one day because of their discrimination towards me. I highly DO NOT recommend this establishment in ALL regards. read more
