This review is for the sunset dinner cruise on the Lucky Lady. Pros: Great views of the island, beaches, and ocean. We were lucky enough to see several dolphins and whales. The alcohol selection was pretty good, wine, Hawaiian beers and mai thais. The staff was pretty friendly and remained calm in spite of what turned out to be an insanely treacherous boat ride. Cons: This was really the boat ride from hell. I know they cannot control the waves, but jesus christ it was horrendous. When you entered the downstairs cabin it was like a vomit filled war-zone. People were throwing up left & right. The crew did what they could to help, but it was disastrous. While the waves cannot be controlled by this company, they can control the "dinner" portion. The appetizers were crackers from costco with some cheese, the dinner was gristly "teriyaki chicken," and dessert was a cookie. Since our trip two years ago, this dinner cruise has become something of a legend in our family. The real benefit of this cruise is that nothing we've done since can be any worse. read more

Have you ever been on a New York City water taxi through the grand rapids and felt like you were in the niagara falls? That's what this felt like. I don't personally blame this tour group for being out there. i do think that these smaller rafts/ catamarans shouldn't be allowed on these waters by the coast guard. I do blame the tour group for false advertisement. I am writing this review because people should be forewarned. We had a tour booked on the first day of our trip; it was an adventure raft that does a beach landing and cave tour. Granted, we signed up for an adventure so we deserved one. Waters were too high for cave tour, which is understandable. The beach landing was a rocky grass area- absolutely nothing like the beach in the pictures. We were at the Na Pali coast for less than 5 minutes then made a turn. Everyone on the tour was wearinf yellow rain coats. After our tour we told the lady at the Kauai Sea Tours that we wanted to do a relaxing cruise for my friends birthday. She proceeded to convince us to sign up for the sunset dinner catamaran cruise with unlimited drinks. We booked it immediately. We got to the boat the next day. It was in fact not a catamaran. It was designed like a water taxi. As we left the harbor, they got us SOAKING WET. Almost everyone on that cruise was dressed up in dresses and had makeup on. Once we left the harbor, 40% of our boat threw up from sea sickness. We continued on this 4 hour journey where no one ate the food served or drank anything to avoid more sea sickness. The boat crew was absolutely awesome to try and make us feel better but it was clearly falsely advertised. I had my head down the entire ride to avoid getting even more seasick- didn't even view the coast. We were throughly disappointed in this tour group for guiding us in the wrong direction and providing false advertisement especially when we conveyed our reason for booking as a relaxing dinner cruise for a birthday. read more

I took my son on the zodiac boat cave adventure for his birthday and he said that was one of the best experience he ever had. The crew Mac and CJ were the best. Very knowledgeable and had so much pride in the Hawaiian culture and respect for the land. They share many stories about the history of Kauai and it's people plus a bunch of movie trivia too and plenty of information about the landscape and lava flows and waterfalls. We booked the early tour and the weather was perfect and calm. We were able to explore all the sea caves. We were lucky enough to see a whale and her baby breach and play. Spinner dolphins and black birds and turtles. The snorkeling was the best I have ever seen and we had an hour to explore. They served us wraps and made sure we were hydrated too. To be honest.. it was a disappointment from the start. We were so excited about going on the sunset snorkel cruise for our honeymoon but it was just one disappointment after another. Timeliness - We left half an hour late. Cleanliness - It was clear that the catamaran hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. The floors were brown, there was hair stuck to the walls and weirdly enough.. the ceiling; and the water cooler was caked with brown stuff all around the spout. Then halfway through the trip customers were complaining that the toilet wouldn't flush and that it was about to overflow. I also noticed that the sink did not work in the bathroom as well. Food - we were told we would have appetizers and a three course dinner. For appetizers we had pretzels, crackers, grapes, and a Costco tray of cheddar/salami. For the price we pay per person, I think they can do better that that. How about some awesome local food we're all excited to try? Dinner was okay.. but it was nothing more than rice, chicken, a roll, and fruit salad. For a dinner cruise I expected something with a little more variety. Snorkeling - there wasn't any. I understand that you can't allow us to snorkel in rough waters.. but there should be a backup plan. Swimming - of all the spots in the water to have us swim.. they chose a spot completely filled with brown algae. Kauai is the most beautiful place in the world.. how in the world did they find the grossest place to swim?? Drinks - open bar didn't start until close to dinner when it was specified it was an open bar cruise; and even so the bartender was never there so you needed to wait for one of the deck hands to offer you one. Again.. I have to mention now gross the water cooler was. For $175 per person splurge and get water bottles please. Tips- the captain asked twice for us to leave tips for the hard work the crew did. People know to tip if there is good service; in my opinion it is just tacky to ask (especially twice). Comfort - there was NO WHERE to sit comfortably. The front of the boat people were soaked with the massive waves that came crashing over them. They were all asked to leave the front for safety (I'll get to that later). Up on top was too rough and we were encouraged to sit below to reduce sea sickness. Then down below, where we were, My husband and I were constantly getting water poured on us from the floor above (which is how the hair ended up on the ceiling). Others were still getting doused with water from waves. There really was no where to sit comfortably. Most important -- the ocean was incredibly rough. Knowing there was a hurricane off the coast.. and knowing how rough it was (it was mentioned that the previous cruise couldn't snorkel as well) you should have cancelled the cruise. I grew up boating and going on cruises; I have NEVER been sea sick. It took everything inside me not to throw up. In fact.. everyone I talked with on board felt the exact same way. There were people throwing up left and right in those little white buckets; it was disgusting. People look forward to this for months. This was by far the most miserable experience I've ever had on an excursion. I even asked before signing the waivers if it was rough out there and the lady checking us in assured us that it was a beautiful ride out there. Everyone around me had puke buckets in the laps.. that shouldn't happen. I'm sorry for the bad review, but Kauai Sea Tours should know this. We looked so forward to this and I can't believe how disappointed my husband and I were. Especially at the rate of $175 per person; we feel incredibly cheated. read more

This is a must do when you come to Kauai. If you want to see the Na Poli coast in a fun, relaxing, and beautiful way then this is the way to do it. Our captain was Capt Kauia and he and his team were great, hospitable and made sure everyone had a blast and was safe. They do serve drinks both alcoholic and nonalcoholic, snacks, and dinner. Great adventure sea tour! We picked an abnormally peaceful day, so raft ride wasn't as 'exciting' as others we read about. Didn't see much sea life, a few dolphins. Captain Ke'aloha & Howie were excellent guides keeping the trip fun and we learned a lot about the areas we visited. Views up close, in sea caves, beach landing with walking tour, beautiful blue waters all great experiences. My daughter had an amazing time assisting with navigation on the ride back. It was an unforgettable experience, highly recommended, and hope to be back for another trip with this team! As a side note, we did a shorter snorkel raft tour to Molokini in Maui a few days later with beautiful reef/fish, but the fun and energy and history from the crew wasn't even close to the level Ke'aloha & Howie presented us with. The crew did the best they could with no whales, and high surf . I believe that is what prevented my wife and i from seeing the Napoli coast as well ! There boat was a small , 30' aluminum pontoon boat not a catamaran. They advertise a 60' catamaran. That probably would have made the trip to Napoli coast. We did the sunset tour to the Na Pali Coast, and the captain Amber was great. She let us know what to expect and even though the waves were crazy, we were happy sailors. We saw whales and spinner dolphins and flying fish! The crew was fantastic. They circled all the guests and kept checking in on everybody and making sure everyone was okay. We were super impressed. Went on the lucky lady cat tour around the Na Pali coast. Beautiful coast line. Captain and crew were amazing. Very attentive to everyone's needs and knowledgeable with any questions I had about the tour. They took pics of whoever wanted them and made sure you had whatever you needed. Snorkeling was a nice touch but not a ton to see. It was great to take a break from the boat and get in the water. My biggest suggestion.... IF YOU GET SEA SICK DONT GO. I always take motion sickness meds before going out and it works for me. I still felt a little nauseated at times as the weather worsened. I stayed away from the open bar which is great if you can handle but I know my limitations with getting motion sickness. Kauai brewing was waiting for me at the end. I can't say enough about the crew Raquel, Dawn, Evan and I can't remember the captains name but it might of been Greg. He gave great commentary about the coast. Speakers needed to be turned up but other then that it was great. I don't hand out many 5 stars but the crew earned it. I think the Na Pali coast is must see when going to Kauai. read more

My boyfriend and I did the Napali Beach Landing Raft Adventure last week (9/17/19). Our guide was Noah and Captain was No-No...They were fantastic! No-No seemed to be very passionate about the history of Kauai and the Napali Coast and frequently stopped to provide information while along the coast. We were able to see a lot of different sea life and they made sure to point everything out as we came upon it. The beach stop was great, although the area for snorkeling is incredibly average (at least to someone who has snorkeled a decent amount) but the island, beach area was very informative, interesting and beautiful. Overall, it was a fantastic tour and our guides were educational, interesting and fun. When we first arrived to the Kauai Sea Tours location it seemed as though they were herding cattle and was VERY busy. They give you a name and tell you to go outside and wait for your guide to arrive...This seemed a bit all over the place which is why I removed one star. That chaos didn't seem to get better when returning from the tour, as they bring you back, everyone is obviously wet and there is no direction as to where people can change before getting into a vehicle or use the restroom (the ladies restroom is very small with only 2 stalls with many tours returning at the same time, it quickly becomes overcrowded). Regardless, the tour was well worth it and fun. read more

My husband and I took the 7 am snorkeling NaPali Sea Tour and we were NOT disappointed. Greg was our captain, along with the crew of Evan, Cameron and Riley-all of which were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful every step of the day. They not only were tour guides, but essentially waiters, lifeguards and sailing boat experts. We saw dolphins galore, an insane view of the Coastline and we both loved the 45 minutes that we had to snorkel-taking in the coral reef and colorful fishes. I do wish we could have snorkeled longer but I was impressed how much we covered in 6 hours. Would recommend this tour and company to anyone (provided you don't get motion sickness because it was certainly a bumpy ride at times)! Note: Breakfast, though tasty, is certainly light. Lunch was a yummy deli lunch and the last hour they offered as many mai tais and beer and wine that you desired. Also a tip: If you want the views AND to clearly hear Greg over the loud speaker at all times, sit on the top deck in the front row, behind the steering cabin. Was hard to hear at the back of the top deck until we finally moved! I hope to take another tour of theirs in the future! read more

I can only give 2 stars at most. - 1st star: they cancelled our reservation of the morning tour with non expectations operational issue (which they didn't explain why) and the sunset tour could result to many unknown conditions like can't see the dolphins and large current wave! And all happened on the tour! - 2nd star: they don't have any sunscreen preparation and seasickness pill on boat. Come on, which $230/person, and you don't even prepare those basic things on boat?? With the very large waves, 80% of ppl on boat got very serious seasick, and even me, like I never had any seasickness before ever, got seasick and vomit. That's the very bad experience. - 3rd star: they guaranteed 98% chance to see the dolphins and we don't see anything. also they did have arrange the snorkel before na Pali coast, but the reef area was not that clear and trust me you could find way much better place snorkeling in Kauai by yourself and free, and no sickness, no large wave. Overall, I can only give 2 star rating just for the crew staff and the na Pali coast view. Other than that, it's not worth that trip, and I do highly recommend the morning tour! This was the best excursion of our family trip! Captain Sean and our guide, Jaime, were extremely knowledgeable about the ocean and the island. I was very impressed with their love for their land and culture. We even stopped to take trash out of the ocean. Jaime took us on a walk at the state beach and gave us a history lesson about the area both her and Sean invest their time preserving on their off days. They were very concerned about the safety and comfort of all their guests. I have three children ages 13, 15, and 17 and they had the time of their lives. They felt safe even during the "exciting" parts of the tour. I highly recommend this tour. For those who get sea sick....not to worry, I get motion sickness extremely easy and I felt great just taking a few Advil right before we took off and sitting at the back of the boat. read more

By far exceeding expectations, the crew was more than accommodating and made multiple rounds to ensure all the riders were satisfied and hydrated. Quick heads up if you get seasick make sure to take some motion sickness medication in before you get on the boat. They also sell some at the front desk where you check-in. Throughout the trip, you can make your way throughout the whole boat though I would suggest the front as being the most fun to hang out at. My girlfriend got pretty seasick on the way back from the coast and had to upchuck. The crew handled it all and made sure she was comfortable where she was. Once again I cannot say how great the Captain and Crew were. They showed us spots on the trip that other tours just cruised by. So book this spot its worth it! read more

We decided to go on the tour last minute because it was a better day after the rainstorm. The sea was bumpy with big waves. They managed to take us to see Nepali close up and took us back home safe. Jake and JR led our 5 hour Na Pali raft tour, and it was one of the most exhilarating rides of my life. These locals were jovial and provided a great deal of information about Kauai. Our check-in was at 7:15 am and we gor back around 12:30 pm. There is a large parking lot at the end of the road with easy access. After a quick safety speil, our group of 14 loaded on to the raft, which was sturdier than I imagined. If you sit on the coastal side of the raft, you will get wetter, but don't get it twisted, everybody is gonna get wet! I loved the exciting ride especially because I took a couple of anti-emetic pills beforehand. During the trip, we had a couple of stops to view spinner dolphin pods, explore a cave, and dodge sea turtles. Rafting is preferable because catamarans are too large to enter the sea caves. For our major break, we had an hour to snorkel and eat lunch. The sandwiches included turkey, ham, and roast beef. Additionally, we had assorted fruit, chocolate chip cookies, sodas, juice, and water. I've had better snorkeling in other locations, but the water was pretty nice. The views of the Na Pali coast from the raft are idyllic and fill you with awe. I felt like I was in a movie which makes sense since many movies are filmed here. Overview: Four of us (two young and active, two older and somewhat inactive) took the snorkeling trip up the Nā Pali coast with Sky (Skylar) and Eric. We all agreed it was the best paid activity we did. Service: The guys were hysterical and super informative, both talking through different historical points as we passed as well as poking fun at everyone on the boat. Both guys also went way above and beyond by taking an endless amount of pictures for anyone who wanted it and showing an immense amount of patience for a child who was having a difficult time. Tour details: Insanely beautiful, like the most beautiful. You take a zodiac boat (inflatable boat) up the coast, stopping along the way to point out interesting spots and facts, swim, snorkel, and eat. Whole tour took ~5hrs. Look, I could keep droning on but honestly this trip is so worth it. So just book it and thank me later. read more

I'm always a little skeptical when tours are arranged by the timeshare concierge but they did an excellent job in this case. Parking is in a lot marked with "Kauai Sea Tours" off the side street. After a short safety meeting at the shop (be sure to be there a few minutes early to check-in) and we were set to head down the Lucky Lady. I am prone to seasickness but it's been a while since I've been on a boat, so my boyfriend and I took a couple tabs of Dramamine. If you get seasick, take my advice and take something else. Dramamine did nothing for me. But we will get to that later. The weather was perfect and fairly calm for the ocean. We were delighted by the history and information Captain Greg shared with us and were immediately enjoying the adventure. From first impressions, all of the crew were very accommodating and enjoyed their job. Along the way we saw dolphins(!) (we were told you see way more of these if you take the morning tour like we did), sea turtles and some of the most remarkable coast line in the world. After the turn-around we reached the snorkeling portion of the trip. As they freely admit, it is not "World Class Snorkeling". But it is a lot of fun. There are better places to snorkel on the islands, however you are on the NA PALI COAST. Can't beat that. Unfortunately, this is about the time that the Dramamine started to wear off.... Pretty much the rest of the trip I spent with my head in a bucket trying to keep anything down (unsuccessfully I might add). ***And here is really what earned those five stars.*** One particular crew member, Matt (please give this man a raise!), was so attentive and kind to me during my ordeal. He brought me ice chips, a wet towel for my neck, ice water, ginger ale, a peppermint oil to help me breath, and most importantly.. fresh buckets after every time I was sick. Matt checked in with us every few minutes, updating me on time, seeing if I needed anything else, just being overall completely amazing. When lunch was served, I was in no mood to eat. Matt offered to make and box me up a salad and sandwich to take home with me, and eat when I felt better. That trip would have been much much worse if the crew had not been so understanding and kind. I felt completely cared for the entire time. So yes, I would definitely recommend using Kauai SeaTours. Great group of people who really know how to take care of their passengers, and FANTASTIC views. With the caveat that the experience may depend on the crew you get, we had a great time with Captain Kauai (his real name is much longer than that but it does start with "Kauai"). We did the Na Pali snorkel and sunset dinner cruise. The crew was great. The captain stopped whenever there was something cool (like dolphins, waterfalls, etc). The snorkel spot was not as good as Captain Cook (Kealakekua Bay), but the water was clear and the current was not bad. On the way back we had dinner. It was much better than I expected. The food was fresh and hot (shoyu chicken, rice, veggies). We stopped for the sunset, and then arrived back in port after dark. A really nice trip. read more

only giving this a 1 star cause you have to give it one to at least comment. absolutely not worth it. we had a family of 6 go and out of the 6, 4 of us were so sick. (this is not their fault) but we were told after the fact that they didn't go out three days prior to us departing and probably shouldn't have went that day. there wasn't enough crew for how many people were sick. the crew was absolutely awesome and very tentative to their guests and trying their hardest, I was probably asked at least a dozen times if I was okay and if they could get me anything. for the price you pay, I don't think 2 grapes, a tiny wedge of pineapple and dry Walmart mini muffins/danish in a disposable nacho tray was acceptable. only beverage that was unlimited was soda. even though it states alcohol is as well. we were under the impression we would go out for an hour and then snorkel. that was not the case, they threw us in the ocean 15mins into our tour. it would have been nice to have been hot and jump in to refresh yourself. the view for snorkeling was sub par. we had better views at poipu beach (absolutely stunning there) they waited over 3hrs in when everyone was exhausted,hot and sea sick to finally serve lunch and drinks, (I feel they do this to lessen the amount of alcohol/food taken by guests) who wants to drink and eat when they are miserable. overall I'm sad we made this our big excursion for our family. we will never do it again. everything was very robotic, and didn't make you feel like you were paying the money you were and you were a guest. What I mean by that is it was a "next" onto the next group kind of feeling. the fact we had to make our own lunches was not acceptable either. Watching guests swaying around trying to make a plate and the poor crew having to help them carry their lunch to their spot was ridiculous. You're limited shade so expect to be in the sun, pretty much the whole time. I wouldn't recommend this excursion at all. read more

We toured the Nā Pali coast on the crazy raft. With Jake at the helm and Tristan as our guide, we set out on an amazing adventure. Disclaimer, our whole party was wiped at the end of the voyage, BUT it was well worth it. The craft itself is built for adventure, so, if you have issues with your body, keep that in mind. We got to: 1) coast in a pod of spinner dolphins 2) land and tour an ancient Hawaiian fishing village 3) tour several caves 4) have guided information about the entire coast by the knowledgeable crew 5) snorkel in a safe place with tons of coral deep enough where I didn't feel like I was imposing on the wildlife 6) have a bag lunch - I was so pooped that this was the best sandwich I ever ate. Then we sped back. We came across some garbage in the water and our crew stopped to remove it from the water! How amazing is that? These guys really care about their environment. Let me tell you, I'm a big girl, and was a bit concerned with getting back into the craft. It wasn't an issue at all. I'm serious, if I can do it, anyone can. Ok, I guess this is enough...let me close by saying that our crew made the day epic. I'd definitely do this again, I'd just use more sunblock. I didn't have any cash, but I wish I had because I totally would have tipped these guys. read more

First if all, I need to thank Kauai Sea Tours for accommodating my boyfriend and I at the last minute. After Googling and searching Trip Advisor for Na Pali Coast boat tours multiple times, and calling about ten other operators only to have them tell me they were fully booked. No fault to any of them as I was calling the day before I was hoping to book a tour for. About an hour before Kauai Sea Tours closed I called on a Tuesday to book a tour for the next day on a Wednesday and the nice representative kindly said they had two more seats on a raft tour! I was so ecstatic as this was my boyfriend's first time to Kauai and I was committed to showing him the Na Pali Coast on a boat. We arrived right on time as they were calling out names to separate people out onto their designated rafts. We had a great pair with Sky as our Captain and CJ as his second mate. The weather was picture perfect! I personally think the raft is the most fun way to discover the Na Pali Coast because you can really feel the water on you at times and they're the boats that can take you into the caves. The ride can definitely be a work out as you must grip onto the ropes on the side of the raft and put your feet under the rope on the floor of the raft, but it's all worth it! Sky handled the waves really well to where there were some moments I thought we might have a wave crash onto the raft, but he went right over it without us barely feeling a thing. Sky and CJ taught us a great deal about the Hawaiian history lived on the Na Pali Coast and it was all told in a very interesting manner. I'm part Hawaiian so having a fellow Hawaiian in CJ on board to discuss some of the history to the tourists was amazing to witness. We got so lucky as we got to see two groups of Hawaiian spinner dolphins, flying fish (which I had never seen before), bottlenose dolphins, and a humpback whale blow water from his spout. We stopped to snorkel at a nice spot, where people spotted a turtle. They also provided us a good snack in the middle of the tour of freah fruit and chips, then for lunch after our snorkel they fed us yummy sandwiches, cookies, and drinks. During the tour Sky showed us the numerous waterfalls along the Na Pali Coast accompanied by some interesting history and even took us into the entrance of a couple of caves. Sky also did some fun tricks with the boat at a couple points where he angled the boat to make for an exciting ride! CJ also gave us a great recommendation to watch the sunset on the road to Waimea Canyon and have dinner by our hotel at Street Burger. All in all, I would definitely recommend Kauai Sea Tours to anyone visiting Kauai! read more

My husband and I went last Wednesday and we had Ian and Evan and Keke and Jess and the were all AMAZING! They work SO hard to make you feel comfortable and have everything you need. The views were beautiful! I wish there was more time for snorkeling like we expecting but I'll take the sunset we got anytime of day! I highly Recommend this company and staff if you wan cruise the sea but not if you are looking for a long snorkeling experience. read more

We went out on the "raft" today with our wonderful guides, Captain Skylar (Sky) and Tyler. My little family had such an amazing time! We were in awe of the beauty of the island and impressed with all of the knowledge Captain Skylar has about the island. The snorkeling was so fun and the views were unforgettable!
