My two friends and I took the Kauai sea tours raft adventure in July, and this trip ended with us rushing to the hospital. While the trip was fun to start, on the way back we hit poor ocean conditions despite crew saying weather would be great, having sunny skies and even being able to enter the caves. The three of us are all mid 20's, athletic, and still had trouble grasping onto the ropes by the end due to over an hours worth of very severe waves where we had to hold on for dear life. With 10 minutes left in the tour we were suddenly hit by a 15 foot rogue wave with no notice, and this caused injuries to occur, and one very severe injury for my friend. It was a true miracle this boat didn't capsize, as I was sure in this split second that we would all be thrown in the middle of the ocean off the boat. Despite my friend profusely bleeding, no medical aid was provided, EMS was not waiting to help us upon return, and there was no follow up from the company until we called and reported what happened the next day. Our crew was in such fear and shock that they were not able to follow emergency protocol. While accidents happen, this shows this company's training is not enough for when rare life threatening events do occur. This incident led to coast guard investigation, and the captain being fired and losing his boating license, but also shows that this zodiac boat tour is also highly unsafe and unpredictable. Locals advise against it knowing how suddenly the wave conditions can change, even on days where weather is great. I would not advise anyone to take this tour, as I truly thought I was going to die this day. I have lasting nightmares of giant waves now. My friend will have life long medical issues, and I took 3 months to recover from an extremely painful rib injury. While for your own safety I hope that it does, if this review doesn't stop you from booking this tour, then at least, parents, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN ON THIS, and EVERYONE, PLEASE WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET THE WHOLE TIME EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT REQUIRE IT. While by some literal miracle we were not thrown into the ocean when hit by the wave as our boat turned 180 degrees on its side, I know that if we had been, we would not have survived in those shark infested and extremely rough waters for very long with no life jacket, and this is coming from someone once on a swim team. Never again will I not wear a life jacket in ocean waters like this while on a small raft, and I hope the company begins to require it as this incident proves it necessary. While there was SO much negligence on the company and crew that has led to coast guard stepping in, I just also know that in these waters, it can happen again. IT IS NOT SAFE and it is not worth risking your life for this. Please, DO NOT book this raft adventure. read more

Captain John & his crew was awesome Weather didn't seem good when we started, but they made sure everyone was safe & we could do snorkeling, see the Na Pali coast till the end & see dolphins & whales. We opted for the smaller 5(ish) hour raft tour and it did not disappoint! It was a blast to navigate all of the waves and our guides, Sky and Noah, entertained us with music and tons of jokes along the way. The Na Pali coast was absolutely gorgeous and we were also blessed to see hundreds of dolphins which swam right along side our boat (Sky stopped the boat for a bit to let us take it all in), eagle rays, sea turtles, gorgeous caves and beautiful waterfalls. Half way through, we stopped to snorkel and swim, had sandwiches for lunch, and went for a little hike with Noah while he shared some Hawaiian history with us. If you are up for a fun adventure and want to experience the Na Pali coast in a unique and personal way, I highly recommend this experience! read more

We did this trip during our trip on the week of 4th of July. It was a near 5 hour trip that included taking a raft out to the Na Pali coast, snorkel there and then come back. Our assumption was that it will be a trip where they will take us to the coast, let us snorkel or hang out at the coast for a couple of hours and then bring us back. Little did we realize that it was going to be a nearly 4 hours of raft ride and barely 30 minutes of snorkel ... Well it was'nt bad tbh - the journey all the way was beautiful - our captain and guide (Shaked and Junior) were hilarious and had really good knowledge about the land and they made the trip very interesting and fun. We saw schools of dolphins swimming at a spot on the way out and the coast itself was breathtaking. Shaked took us into caves and told us historic details and funny anecdotes about all the spots and peaks. I would have been perfectly happy had this trip been just called an anecdotal tour of the Na Pali coast and no snorkelling was mentioned. I can venture a guess that had the water not been so super choppy, we may have had a little (note - very little) more time for the snorkel - but not by too much. It just did not feel like snorkelling was one of their focus activities - there seemed to be the assumption that everyone had brought their own gear and the team was aksing if anyone needed anything. There was also a warning that if we did'nt know how to swim, to not get into the water - even with life jackets. That was a bit of a put off tbh. I've snorkelled in many oceans with a life jacket on. They did let me get into the water warily after a while once my boyfriend assured that he will swim next to me. Looked like they were being very very cautious for sure. At the end, I have to say it was a really "adventurous" trip with an exciting, butt aching ride (would NOT have sat at the front of that raft if we knew it was going to be SO MUCH riding :)) - that took us to one of the most beautiful vistas in Hawaii. Totally awesome experience! Cj and JR kept us informed as well as entertained the entire trip. JR was an excellent boat captain. We were able to stop and see a couple different pods of dolphins swimming and spotted multiple green sea turtles while on the raft and got to swim with them when we stopped for snorkeling. The waves were intense for the time of year we went but magically JR was able to get us into at least one cave that just so happened to be where Mary j blige shot part of a music video. Snacks, drinks, cookies, and sandwiches were provided and delicious. My 10 yr old brother didn't want to snorkel and instead of one us adults having to miss out CJ offered to hang out with him and keep him entertained on the boat and he ended up being fine and having a good time. Thanks CJ and JR for making our rafting experience probably better than anyone else's! Fair warning this experience isn't for the faint of heart you will get wet, cold, sore, and tossed around a bit with that being said my 60+ year old grandma made the trip and had a blast! My husband and I did a Raft Adventure tour with Jaimie and Jordan and can not recommend it enough! Going in, I was afraid. I had heard of people getting horrible sea sick, so we took some meds ahead of time. We had no issues between the easy sea conditions and Jordan's boating skills. We saw spinner dolphins, a monk seal, flying fish, lots of birds, and a turtle or two. Both of our crew grew up on the island, so they had a lot of stories and history that made the trip unforgettable. They are also hilarious and really do care about giving you the best experience possible. The beach landing was a phenomenal once in a lifetime kinda thing. Jaimie herself goes out there in her spare time to help restore it, so she had so much insight and you could really tell how special it is to be there when she speaks. Also, stay on the dang path and listen to the guides. We had a fellow passenger smoke a cigarette on top of a grave site while everyone was getting settled. Do you really want that bad juju? Nope. Use your listening ears. Whenever we come back to Kauai, we are looking forward to trying a catamaran tour! read more

Fantastic and unforgettable sea adventure for my 12-year-old daughter and me! Captain Kealoha and his crewman, Howie, were exceptional seamen, narrators, hosts and entertainers throughout this amazing day! Advice to others considering doing the Napali Coast: the zodiac boats are not for the faint of heart (or soft of butt) but if you like wet roller coaster rides, this beats them all -- for about 5 hours! We saw spinner dolphins along the way, and swam beside a very big green sea turtle during snorkeling after our beach landing. We spotted a moray eel as well and watched it a few meters down swimming from crevice to crevice in the reef. Top marks to Captain Kealoha and crewman Howie for their super friendly and enthusiastic helmsmanship of the tour -- so many stories and fascinating info shared all along the way, and very attentive to all in the zodiac throughout! This was a great adventure!!! My husband and and I were on our honeymoon and this was something I had done before and wanted to share the experience with him. We had the best captain in Jake and his first mate Triscuit a.k.a. Tristan. They were amazing and so full of knowledge of the island of Kauai. Definitely suggest sitting in the front you have the best view in the house just be ready to get bounced around and take the gloves if they offer them to you! TAKE THE GLOVES!! Great tour - great crew We ended up booking the trip while we were in Kauai (normally plan things ahead but life got busy!). We booked through Snorkel Bob's and then got the confirmation from Kauai Sea Tours - we went out on Aug. 3. There were four of us on the tour and we all had a great time - in part because the na pali coast is so beautiful and in part because Capt. Kauai and his crew (Auntie Julie, Rico & Manny) were so awesome. We very much appreciated Capt. Kauai's stories and historical knowledge - but I also loved how he balanced making the trip fun and special (backing into a waterfall for us) and safe (telling people in no uncertain terms when they weren't following the rules). He was also great at preparing the group for what to expect in terms of the choppiness. The only downside was the the snorkeling wasn't quite as spectacular as I was expecting but you can't hold the company accountable for that. There were several boats stopped were we were stopped so it was probably just that day. Logistics - we left and returned exactly on time. Food was perfectly fine - fresh and served with great energy and hospitality. The crew was keen on helping people stay hydrated. And I think this may be one of the only catamaran trips that finishes with a mai tai after snorkeling. And it was better than several others we had during the week. I'd highly recommend this trip but make sure you have Capt. Kauai. read more

They took us through caves and dolphin pods and onto a private beach that only this company has access to. Captain Amber and her crew gave out-of-this-world customer service on this boat tour, topped ONLY by the views of the most beautiful place on Earth, the Na Pali Coast. Thank you, Amber, Kim, Kaia, and Howie! Tips: prepare to get sun, rain, and very wet from the ocean. This is NOT for people with motion sickness, about 5 people had to sit in the back with buckets. Mother Nature directs the wind, waves and weather, not the tour company or crew. Be warned! Speaking of nature, we were blessed with visits from several pods of dolphins throughout our voyage, hamming it up to our delight! Safety first, everything else was fun. We booked the early morning raft tour that took us to a native Hawaiian village, snorkeling and caves, our tour guide was CJ and captain Shaked, both are born and raised in Kauai and were very knowledgeable on Hawaiian culture and Kauai's rich history. It's a pretty small rift that could fit up to 12 people comfortably, we were fortunate enough that 4 people could not make it to the tour and thus we had a lot of room, it took us approximately an hour and fifteen mins to reach the edge of the NaPali coast, we had the opportunity to see dolphins and seaturtles, we were provided sandwiches, cookies, chips and soda for lunch, overall experience of this tour was amazing, would recommend this tour to anyone but I would also caution for those who get sea sickness to get some medication because on our way back the waters was really rough read more

We booked this trip randomly from google and were not disappointed. Our captain Gregg was awesome (along with the rest of the staff) and was very knowledgeable about the coastline and Hawaiian history. Snorkeling was great, views were immaculate, and Mai tais were tasty. The boat also looked nicer than other vessels we passed by, but maybe I'm biased due to our great experience. They did an excellent job to make sure we were safe even when waters got really rough at the end of our trip, it was fun to be jumping up and down with the waves and racing another boat. Our tour 12/18/19 with Captain Shatie and Noah was more then expected. The Captain expertly commanded the raft through rough water and caves with ease. She conducted herself professionally and was aware of all her passengers throughout the 5 1:2 hour tours. In my opinion, she is outstanding and I have spent many years on the water on various vessels. Noah was an excellent first mate. We did the Na Pali Coast Tour and stopped for snorkeling with this tour company yesterday. The staff was absolutely incredible. In a world where most of the service industry has taken a hit after Covid, their team were fabulous. Captain Kauai, Dawn, Ricky and another female (I can't remember her name...I feel bad) we're all not just helpful but extremely attentive and gave amazing service. The day was beautiful (I like to think their positivity and attitude helped, although the weather made it great on its own). We stopped a few times to watch pods of dolphins and even saw some sea turtles. The snorkeling spot was fun although we didn't see many fish but no one could help that. The captain took us close to the coast which we thought was impossible to get that close on this catamaran...but he knew exactly what he was doing and we all felt safe. A few people were a little Sea sick and each one of their team was overly attentive and super caring with the people not feeling well. Even with all of that, they were still walking around bringing drinks and did a great job. For someone that works in the hospitality industry at one point, I really have to give them a shout out. They made our trip that much more memorable. This company is in great hands with this team of people. Our group would recommend this tour highly! read more

We came on January 25th 2018 as a family of 5 plus one, my 8 year old daughters best friend. We not only had the time of our lives, we laughed and made friends with the fantastic staff! They were beyond top notch! We went on a day tour with Captain Jeff and his awesome staff who went out of their way to get to know us on a personal level, made our kids (the only kids under 18 on the trip) feel special and welcomed, which made our experience that much more enjoyable. The Nepali coast is definitely the excitement and focus of the tour, but I would hang with these guys on a boat and go no where and still have an amazing time! We have friends visiting Kauai in the future and we have recommended your company (especially Captain Jeff and his crew) as hands down one the best things they can do on the island. read more

Went on a Zodiak tour of Na'Pali Coast with Kauai Sea Tours. Although the sea was rough, especially as we got closer to Na'Pali, we had a great time. The captain and crew, Ian and Jake, were awesome and very knowledgeable of the area, the culture, and the geography. This made the adventure more than just a ride in a boat, but an overall awesome experience. If I get the chance to go back to Kauai, I will go again in hopes of calmer waters and a little more sunshine. read more

I booked this tour 3 months ago. They initially called and said they were cancelling my reservations. Then they rebook me on the same day at a later time. Then they called me four times to confirm my reservation. Then two hours before my trip that they had rescheduled told me that because of whether they are canceling. So I called other tours and they are still taking people out. No weather related issues. They were just giving me a BS excuse for canceling. I feel like they were trying to cancel my reservation for the past 4 days. They probably over booked. Very bad customer service. Ruined our vacation. My kids were looking forward to it. Wow! Today could not have been more perfect. We had an anomaly of a sunny day in mid February, Valentine's Day 2020. The crew was informative, skilled, warm and welcoming. We saw whales, dolphins, and snorkeled with some sea turtles! Went out yesterday for a dinner cruise and couldn't have asked for a better captain and crew! Captain Kauai is such a talented man, manuvered the boat into places that put us all in awe! We saw Ray's, Turtles, dolphins and whales and the sea was in epic form. Captain Kauai narrated most of the trip so people knew what they were viewing. We have been on tours before and still picked up new information from him! The crew was on point! Always there to get you a drink a snack, take your picture, share stories or help you navigate walking on the boat. I was feeling a bit queezy at dinner time and they were sweet enough to box up my dinner so I could eat it once on land. I didn't expect that at all. The dinner was good, teriyaki chicken, green salad, fruit salad, mixed veggies, rolls, rice and cookies for dessert. Drinks were offered all through the ride. Pop, juice, wine and Mai Tia's that we're actually pretty darn good for on a boat! We also got to see a movie being filmed above us. Two helicopters were super close over head. It was cool for a minute, but then got irritating since they were purposely going close to rock cliffs and pushing dust and little rocks on to our boat. And they got so load it was hard to hear the captain talk over his microphone. Also I am sure it made everyone a bit nervous, if the helicopter crashed it would have been over our heads. They could have waited until the captain was done in the area doing the tour since the boat was in position first. But the Captain did an amazing job working around it. He was probably the best we had ever sailed with! Long story short epic day and everything perfect from reservation staff, boat, crew and Captain Kauai!! We did the sunset cruise on the catamaran! Great crew, beautiful view! We unfortunately had to turn around early because irresponsible parents brought a 2 1/2 little girl on the boat. Kept her below deck, and she obviously got sea sick and threw up everywhere. Then started freaking out that her child needed medical attention and called 911. Poor little girl was just sea sick, but otherwise totally fine. Not to mention the whole time this was happening, the family completely forgot about their other little daughter who was maybe 6-7 years old? She was just sitting by herself on the boat with no supervision. Long story short, Keep the little ones home. Do something more age appropriate for them. The crew has zero control over the seas. We hit rough waters but the captain gave us all plenty of heads up to move to back of the boat if you didn't want to get wet and handled the boat well in the swells! The deck hand crew were THE BEST! Between cleaning up the vomit and trying to calm the crazy mom down, they made sure everyone was taken care of. We would 100% book again! read more

One of the main reasons for visiting Kauai was to see the Na Pali coast. Upon realizing we could not travel to the coast on foot or by car I sought other alternatives to still be able to view the Na Pali coast. After reading many positive reviews of Kauai Sea Tours, I chose to book their Na Pali Sightsee Sunset Dinner Cruise. No where on their website is there a disclaimer stating that they will not go to the Na Pali if the seas are too rough. My boyfriend and I were under the impression we were going to see the Na Pali, the whole reason we booked the cruise, until we heard our captain state determinedly that he was not going to the Na Pali he was taking his passengers whale watching. We heard him say all of this very unprofessionally in a local store before we checked into the cruise. The one positive I would like to make note of was the rest of the crew was very helpful in keeping beverages and refreshments in our hands the entire cruise and even delivered our dinner to us so it wouldn't fly away or spill. We went out last minute so in all fairness i did not research possibly as much as I should have. We had supposed to go offshore fishing but it was cancelled due to high seas. I had believed this to be a snorkeling tour however it turned into a long trip with pounding seas to look at some beautiful scenery. I was shocked to hear this was a calmer day. Little kids not wearing life jackets coming within mere feet of jagged rocks. Ive operated boats my entire life and did not feel safe. I was sprayed in the face and hanging on for dear life with a rough rope and toe strap for literally 3 hrs - they could not pay me to do again. The 10 minute reprieve for a snorkel followed by the 15 minute "lunch" which mind you was at approximately 6pm.. the icing was the local making somewhat rude comments about the USA how it was Hawaii's sugar momma (which is fine and true) but the way he said a few things turned me off..just not a worthwhile tour i would recommend read more
