Why, you ask? It has everything you need. The vendors are kind. It's easy to park, friendly to seniors and children alike. Next door is a liquor store where you can pick up pairings for your farmers' market inspired meal. Protip: get two baguettes from Crispian bakery. They're delicious. Corn in season is amazing. Salmon from the fish vendor is expensive but way cheaper than if you had like quality in a restaurant. DM me and I'll share my award-winning recipe (fine it's a hand drawn award from my children but I'll take it over a James Beard award any day). Buy things in season, and you'll never go wrong.

The spacing between tents are decently far apart, making it very stroller friendly. However pursuant to California's Health & Safety Code, dogs are not allowed. So make sure to leave your furry babies at home. We got a box of delicious organic strawberries here for $20, as well as some fresh bread and pastry. Bites: Biko (rice cake) 7.99 -made from sweet rice, coconut milk, brown sugar. Chewy, sweet addictive taste. Suman (rice cake) 5 pieces-9.99 -sweet rice mixed with coconut milk, sugar. Salt. Wrapped in banana leaves, steamed. -slightly sweet. Chewy. Good for snacking. Looks like a mini Chinese tamale. Sweet rice is native to China & Southeast Asia. Filipino rice cakes have similarities to Japanese mochi, Thai mango sticky rice (khao niao mamuang). All use sweet rice, other ingredients differ. This farmers market as a small town charm to it and every person I interacted with was friendly. I was in the area because I crashed at a buddy's house the night before. When I was leaving the area, I saw this place and wanted to check it out. Keep in mind it was around the holidays and it was drizzling a bit that Sunday, so I'm not sure if it affected the amount of vendors present as this was my first time visiting. I ended up getting some enchiladas to go from one of the vendors selling Mexican food and a loaf of quinoa bread from one of the bakers (West Won Bread out of Napa). The food was good and the quinoa loaf was amazing and enjoyed by my parents and I later on when we served with some stew. Would love to re-visit with better weather conditions and different parts of the year. But definitely an enjoyable market based on my first visit.

The students take it as a class…read more As you might imagine, it is a complicated undertaking to be open to the public as a restaurant (which requires sanitation and inspections) inside of a school schedule where classes change every 58 minutes. This information is important when considering the whole experience. The restaurant has been open 3 days per week and will soon close for summer. Its future is a bit uncertain because the executive chef/teacher is retiring and there is someone new coming in. How or if it will change is unknown. This program is so important and I hope everyone will go eat there and check it out. 3 days per week they offer breakfast and lunch. We had lunch. We had potato leek soup (very nice), green salad (very fresh ingredients but dressing had no taste), 3 tacos (excellent) and the chicken curry lavash (the best, in my opinion). They offer dessert as well as baked goods to go. We got awesome peanut butter cookies and an outstanding scone. The space is large and airy and inviting. In our experience, service was the weak link. However, this whole endeavor is a real asset to the school and community and we will absolutely return, and highly recommend that you do, too.
