Absolutely fantastic! I ordered the rice and koobideh as well as an extra chicken skewer and the Sangak bread wanting to try a bit of it all. I received such a huge portion of food that tasted amazing, it was at least 3/4 meals worth. The koobideh and the Sangak bread were definitely standouts, so amazingly flavorful and tender I'll be going back for more probably sooner than is good for me haha =D. They have the cutest little shop attached to it as well, with spices, a few frozen treats, and various sundries. It felt well stocked despite being a cozy store. My first time at this place. It is my husband's second time. He told me they have the best Sangak bread and I needed to try it. The bread is cooked on a stone. I finally got to try it today and it was so delicious and tasty. I would come back for the bread and perhaps try other items. There are also grocery items in this store. I rarely leave reviews, but I absolutely had to for this one. We had over 100 guests at my daughter's birthday party and ordered kebabs from Aala Yazdi, and I can honestly say they served some of the best kebabs we've had in Northern California. Every single Koobideh & Joojeh skewer was incredibly fresh, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. So many of our guests came up to us asking where the food was from and couldn't stop complimenting it! Their customer service was just as impressive. The team was friendly, professional, responsive, and made the entire process easy from start to finish. Everything was ready on time, and the quality exceeded our expectations. If you're planning a party, catering an event, or simply looking for amazing Iranian kebabs, I can't recommend this place enough. They bake the best Sangak bread! Just try it warm and you will fall in love with that! We tried their koobideh and Joojeh Kababs and they were delicious! Definitely go back for more. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and work hard to attend to every customer in the store in a timely fashion. Expect a bit of a wait, even if your order is small, uncomplicated or if you are the only customer. I usually order 2 koobideh and one chicken with rice and grilled tomato, and it usually takes 25 minutes. The person helping you will tell you how long it will be, and they are accurate. It's a tiny store inside of a rundown strip mall. Blink, and you could miss it. There is a bigger Persian restaurant in the next parking lot, but that's not what this is. This is a small store that has a few groceries and dry goods that is very specific to Persian cooking, a grill in the back, and they offer maybe 5 different things, and they do it well. It's all takeout, so don't expect to eat there unless you do what my partner and I do and bring a tray and eat that outside in our car with no shame and much happiness. They are renowned for their bread. I'm not a bread person, but it's reputed to be the best sangak bread you can get for miles, and it must be true because every time I go (which is only for the grill), there is always someone buying a bunch of fresh bread. The lady has a vibe that...I guess can be interpreted by some as unfriendly? but to me I just feel like front-end of a store does not seem to be her forte but that's small business for ya - she definitely seems to work really hard. Service is poor. Went to order food and the attitude is. That don't welcome race other than their own. Very Unfriendly. Order the kebabs menu from wall and it doesn't come with rice, tomatoes and peppers, like most restaurants include. They din't tell you. When i got my order I was told it doesn't cone with anything. I asked if i can pay for rice some rice and get an eye roll. Seriously, im trying to support the small businesses but i don't feel welcome. Leave your attitude at home. I stumbled on Persian Tik-Tok, and became obsessed with finding Sangak Bread! Can you believe I found it in Concord? In just two weeks, I've been there three times! The owner is super sweet and welcoming, and tried chatting with me in Farsi--it was cute, but I speak Spanish . We were looking for a certain baked good and did a search which led us to Aala Yazdi. While they did not have that particular baked good, they had other wonderful goodies! The lady helping us was so nice! They did not have the beef koobideh available yet so we ordered chicken kabobs. We ordered a portion of the sangak bread which was fantastic. Edges were crisp and the middle had a nice chew. It was amazing fresh, so we had to take nibbles while waiting for our chicken kabobs. We also bought sour cherry jam to enjoy with our sangak bread at home. The chicken was delicious. So juicy and flavourful. Aala Yazdi market reminds me Tajrish old sangaki. Sangak breads are amazingly delicious specially with extra seeds. It was so good that I could have easily eaten more but I would have just been stuffing my face. Can't say enough about how delicious the food was. The fresh baked bread was perfect as well. But this place is slow and they are in no hurry whatsoever. That's the only issue for me. You need to be prepared to not be in and out, it's not that kind of place. They take their time. A hidden gem. You'd never notice this place if you weren't looking for it. Tucked away at the very back of the strip where Sushi Momoyama and 1800 Cafe are located. Family-owned and run by super nice people. They bake fresh Sangak bread daily. I think their Yazdi muffins are also baked fresh. They also have a few small shelves with interesting packaged foods. They have a very limited menu, including beef koobideh and chicken kebobs. We ordered both meats and OMG! So good! Seasoned and cooked to perfection, moist, tender, slightly and wonderfully charred. Even the roasted tomato that comes with it was delicious. Next time, I'm even ordering extra tomatoes. Prices were lower than most I've seen around here for this type of food, and among the best I've tasted of these dishes. I was happily surprised at the generous portions of meat and bread -- a terrific value! I think a single plate could've filled up both my husband and myself. This is an amazing little market! They make fresh sangak bread that smells so good when I put it in my car it's hard for me not to eat it all while driving. If you haven't tried this Persian bread you must (for those non-Persians). They also have other great stuff such as jams, cheese, etc. So it's a great place if you're looking for assorted middle-eastern things.
