When I moved from New York and ended up at Torrance Memorial ER during my third trimester, I was incredibly fortunate to meet Dr. Elledge--who kindly accepted me as her patient. From that moment on, she became my rock. She is everything you would hope for in an OB/GYN: compassionate, empathetic, patient, understanding, and deeply professional. I had no doubt she was the right person to deliver my baby. Throughout my prenatal care, Dr. Elledge consistently reassured me, putting me at ease whenever concerns arose. She listened carefully and always respected my decisions. I had planned to have an elective C-section on my due date, but as fate would have it, I went into labor the day before--and by a stroke of luck, she happened to be on call when I was admitted. That led to a beautiful, unplanned vaginal birth, and I couldn't have been happier. During delivery, Dr. Elledge was calm and patient. She allowed me time for skin-to-skin contact while my baby's cord turned white before cutting it and carefully proceeded with suturing. I never felt rushed--only deeply cared for. Her gentle, meticulous approach made me feel incredibly supported and safe in one of the most profound moments of my life. Seeing her again in the Mother Baby Unit brought me so much comfort. She always made me feel welcomed and ensured I had all the information I needed. In a time when there's so much conflicting advice online, I'm grateful I trusted my instincts and followed her guidance from the start. While I had a birth plan drafted from the Torrance Memorial website, my main goal was always for both my baby and me to be healthy--and I trusted her medical judgment completely. Went in for a routine visit, and was told to call back a week later for results. I've called them numerous times, and have left messages for receptionists. When the calls did go through, I was told the doctor wasn't available and that they'll call back, but I have yet to hear from them and it's been a month. Will be changing doctors. read more

Ive been seeing Kay Elledge for about 2 years and in this time she has been a wonderful doctor. Then I went though a really tough experience and she completely exceeded my expectations. She got me in for an appointment quickly, she called me after hours with results, and went out of her way to make sure that I was ok. I am honestly so grateful to her. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. If you're looking for a new Gynecologist you've found the right person. On top of being a great doctor, she is also a wonderful person. I have never had such a terrible experience at a doctors office. I didn't fill out the form that was sent to me before arriving to my appointment. I had 10 min before my appointment and had the time to fill it out but Dr. Elledge was very rude and gave me attitude for not having done it prior to the appointment. I tried to apologize and reschedule and when I said I have availability on Sunday she replied by saying "Since when have you heard of a doctors office that's open on weekends." i probably will not go back to this doctor: first time given a pap smear by an iphone flashlight, no A/C in patient rooms, old outdated equipment. Doctor is friendly, sort of a folksy type who likes to chat - she spent 90 minutes chatting about herself and family in that sauna she called an examining room. i'm giving 2 stars, because truth be told, she seemed competent. They maintain paper records, so forget about accessing electronic records, test results, etc. I'll look for a new gyno. read more

Extremely disappointed. They never answered the phone, I had to walk in multiple times to ask a question or double check my appointment time. She didn't have any staff the two times I went so she was pretty much running the office on her own. Someone left me voice mail from her office saying "I'm reach out to you because there was notes on your file to give you a follow up call but I'm not sure why if you happen to know why give us a call back.." I was so annoyed and frustrated. Office is very tight and full of clutter front desk had papers/folders everywhere. The rooms had boxes and looked messy NOT clean. She doesn't do ultra sounds and the visits are just to have a one min conversation about stuff I already knew. SO DISAPPOINTED! I called Dri. Elledge office for an appointment and had to speak with a message service, they never returned my call and I had to call again and again. That should've been my first clue. They said the next available appointment was in six weeks. I've waited six weeks, took off work and the receptionist say, "your appointment was yesterday." I said no it wasn't my appointment is for today, I've been waiting for six weeks. She said we had to cancel your appointment because Dr. Elledge is not here. I have never experienced a doctor canceling on the same day as your appointment and made it seem like I missed my appointment. I was referred to Dr. Elledge by my PCP. There was quite a bit of paperwork to complete to be turned in with my initial visit and appointments were scheduled out quite far. However, undeterred, I made it to my appointment. LONG POST AHEAD! Dr.Elledge seems like a nice doctor, but if you are coming here for prenatal care I advise you look elsewhere. My first appointment was scheduled for 9am after they rescheduled me because Dr.Elledge had an emergency appointment on my original date. I assumed since she was essentially "squeezing me in" on a different day that it would mean a long wait....but I waited for FOUR HOURS. also, I thought this being my first OB appointment during my pregnancy that I would get a first ultrasound. Nope. She just talked to me about the packet of paperwork I had filled out, my previous pregnancy and what I should be avoiding such as food or drinks. I was very disappointed but decided to give her another shot. My appointment was April 4th and they referred me with Dr.Sachar to get my genetic testing and anatomy scan done. Yesterday, April 25th, I come to find out from Dr.Sachar's office that the authorization was never sent from Dr.Elledge's office and they could not see me until the authorization went through. I had to get on the phone with Dr.Elledge's office to see what happened within the three weeks and they say they had previously sent it but that they would send it again. This morning, the day of my appointment I call Dr.Sachar's office and they still have nothing and tell me to try my insurance. I call my insurance and sure enough after being on the phone for 20 mins I find out Dr. Elledge's office messed up. They sent an authorization for me to get what I was suppose to get done at Dr.Sachar's office to her own office! I saw a previous post on here dated 5 months ago stating they had a new staff...when I went on the 4th the two ladies working both told me they were new and they looked so flustered and confused so it doesn't surprise me that they did everything all wrong. As a patient, pregnant non the less, the last thing you want to be doing is calling different doctors and calling your insurance to try and get seen for your FIRST ultrasound. It is just plain ridiculous and I highly suggest anyone referred here for prenatal care to go elsewhere. Just as a reference, I am 13 weeks pregnant (according to my last menstrual cycle because I haven't even done bloodwork) I was referred by my PCP at 7 weeks. I am almost to my second trimester and Dr.Elledge does not seem concerned that I (her patient) have no idea what's going on with my baby. I will definitely be changing doctors. read more

I love Dr. Elledge I've been coming to see her since 2011 and she's going to deliver my third baby. She's very nice and informative. She takes her time explaining things to you especially of you are a first time mom. Her staff is also very sweet and they keep it clean which is a plus. I had c-sections with my first two and even though it's not my first time I still get nervous but Dr. Elledge makes me feel reassured and comfortable with surgery. Switched over to her care with a million and one issues and she helped reassure me that she would do everything she could to help me and find out what exactly was going on and she did exactly that! I have been a patient of Dr. Elledge's for 9 years and switched to her when my best friend raved about her great care delivering her three babies. When I came to Dr. Elledge I was having my third child. She helped me through every step of my pregnancy and when in the third trimester my baby wasn't growing the way she should, she put me on bed rest and made me very aware of my options. She checked on me every few days and gave me her personal number so that i could reach her at any time. On my last check when my blood pressure was too high and I was diagnosed with Preeclampsia, she wasted no time and we delivered our baby girl by c-section within two hours. My baby was only 3 pounds, 10 oz and saved just in time. Dr. Elledge talked me through everything and was always there for me and my husband. Over the years I know I can count on her for any gynecological issue because as a medical professional, she is so smart, knowledgeable and caring. I know that her office staff has had a lot of turnaround and often the wait time are less than desirable. She has not had the best luck with her office staff and hopefully she gets this resolved soon. But she will always be an exceptional doctor and it's not fair to tarnish her reputation based on clerical issues. Please give her a chance. She is well worth the wait and your body and your baby are in good hand with her. read more

Dr Elledge has been my dr for over 15 years helping with fertility issues, through countless ovarian cysts, a few surgeries and two beautiful babies. She is a wonderful person who will help you through whatever is going on. Yes there is a wait but you wait for a reason! She is the best! My most recent surgery (2weeks ago) was to remove a cyst that was causing so much pain! I woke up from the surgery feeling better already. it was on a Friday and I was back in action on Sunday I know this is because she is careful and takes her time while doing the surgery and I am so grateful! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. this is a long post but please read all of it so I can SAVE YOU FROM THIS HORRIBLE DOCTOR AND STAFF. I found doctor elledge in my first trimester. She doesn't have an ultrasound machine, which is fine, she sends you to an AMAZING DOCTOR (Dr. Sachar) that does the ultrasounds. I would give this place negative stars if I could. AWFUL facility, she is a ticking time bomb for a lawsuit if she hasn't gotten sued already!! The doctor is condescending, rude, and quite often stutters with her words when you ask questions and doesn't seem to know what the hell shes talking about. Wait times are 1-2 hours despite having an appointment. Let me describe all my interactions with the doctor, then I'll get to the staff. This doctor is so awful, my husband and I would joke "god I hope she's busy when I give birth so she doesn't have to be the one to do it" and you know what! She was! She didn't even show up and I'm glad!!! 1. I show up for an appointment on time, I was having heart issues in the third trimester. An hour passes by, I'm complaining to the staff asking where the doctor is because she hadn't even arrived. They tell me she's in an emergency surgery at the hospital. An hour and a half passes by, ok I tell them I'm leaving, they explain that she really needs to see me because I was having heart issues. 2 hours passed my original appointment, the doctor walks in and says "sorry! I just spent the last 2 hours on the phone with this woman trying to renee my medical license because it expires this Sunday. My staff was meant to do it but they never did" UH WHAT????? I would have preferred for you to tell me you were in emergency surgery!!! 2. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION she had me undress from the waist down and put my legs up, with a cloth partially over me THEN OPEN THE DOOR TO YELL/TALK TO HER STAFF!!!! As I'm laying there! Side note: first thing she does when she walks into the room is talk crap about her staff. 4. She asks me where my husband works, I tell her space x, then she goes on for 15 minutes talking shit about the company. 5. During my second trimester I went to get my anatomy test done by who she referred me to Dr. Sachar (absolutely amazing doctor and highly recommend!!!!). He tells me to come back in a few weeks to determine how the baby is growing. My next appointment with Elledge she gets upset at this and says "it's not necessary" and I told her not to cancel the appointment and she says "it's not necessary I'm your doctor" and I said, "is this going to be harmful to the baby" and she says "well no but," and started to talk about money, but then stopped herself. I cut her off and said I have insurance that will cover this. Trying to make all of this about money?!?!? Then at my next appointment with Sachar it was determined that my baby had a smaller abdomen and possibly had IUGR. WOW. Thank god I stood my ground and demanded she did not cancel the appointment!! 6. SHE DIDNT SHOW UP FOR THE BIRTH OF MY CHILD. I didn't even hear from her until my child was 3 days old. 7. Katie, one of the secretaries at the front, it's hard to believe she works there. After giving birth I came in to see Dr. Elledge because I had what I believed to be a yeast infection, the doctor comes in, I tell her what's going on she says "I can't deal with this right now I just tried to get you out quickly and see you in front of someone else sorry, I have to see them first" and walks out. Uh, okay am I not supposed to come see you for these issues after I just gave birth? Then katie the secretary walks in and I told her do I even need to stay here if she isn't going to see me for a yeast infection, I'll just ask my gynecologist later today (TG I already had an appointment) and Katie says no you're good we'll cancel your appointment for today. So I leave, thinking nothing of it. Then they call later about how they're going to charge me for canceling my appointment. I had a fit! I straight up told Katie you're the one that canceled my appointment so you better not charge me. After arguing back and fourth, she agreed to not charge me. read more

Dr Elledge is a really great Dr. She delivered my two children and I felt cared for throughout the pregnancy and after care process. My children are now 5 and 3 and I recently went to her office and not only did she ask how my kids were by name, she asked me personal questions about my family that were not something that would be in a chart (such as if my sisters were still living out of state, if I still worked for my mother, how everyone was doing, etc). You may experience quite a bit of a wait sometimes and your appointment may rarely be cancelled because she needs to go deliver a baby, but the level of care she gives when she is with you is worth it. Also, while it may change your schedule if you are delayed or re-scheduled, I think it shows that she will be there for you should it come time for you to deliver. read more

I adore Dr. Elledge. She delivered both of my children and really made me feel comfortable through the whole process. Dr. Elledge takes her time with every patient, so just know that you may wait a little bit of time to see her, but she will not rush you and will take time to answer any question you have. She is well known and respected at Little Company and Torrance Memorial, so wherever you decide to deliver your children, you will not be disappointed by choosing Dr. Elledge. Dr Elledge is an amazing person and great doctor. She is kind and truly cares about female health. It's hard to get through to their offices and make an appointment and the new hot sculpting slimming treatment quite frankly is a total waste of money. I had three procedures which cost me over $6000 and wasted half a day each time and I had zero results. I did not loose even 1/2 inch or even one kilo. The treatment itself is also painful and one would consider non evasive treatment and go through pain for some kind of result. I don't have a ton of weight to lose and was really looking to get rid of my post natal belly roll. My money would have been better spent on lipo or a dietician. I could kick myself for even thinking this would work and trusting my long time doctor. That's a huge amount of money to spend and I am sure very expensive equipment for a doctor to have invested in that doesn't work. I went through a lot during my child birth and I had preeclampsia and she was helpful and she came to visit me a few times in the hospital. I think that its great that she took the time to do this for me. I went for a check up recently and I think the office is nice, it's not as large as the previous ne, but they make it feel like home. They called me back within the week to tell me my results for my test and I am thankful because I didn't have to wait too long. When I first visited Dr. Elledge last year for my yearly exam, I was a little concerned. The wait was long and the staff was a bit in disarray. When I finally went in to see her she explained that she had just experienced a staff turnover and that things would get better. She was kind, thorough, and accommodating. I took her at her word that things would be better and came back this year for my yearly exam. What a difference! I only had about 5 or 6 minutes of wait time and I was in her office for my exam. I am 16 weeks pregnant and I am a doctor, I cannot recommend this specialist, I received bad care and a bad experience with her. She is not interested in the patients and she did not remember what she herself said in the previous consultations, she forgot to ask for the pertinent exams (so you had to be calling the nurses to remind them to request the exams and it could take two weeks until you could achieve them). I suffer from hypothyroidism and had 1 miscarriage threat so I am undergoing treatment for this with medications. To control my hypothyroidism, they requested an exam for TSH, the last one was 7.6 (elevated) in July (when I had this result the doctor told me that I should call my primary doctor that she should solve it, once my primary doctor helped me and adjusted the dose she told me that I should continue to be seen by the gynecologist, not by her) in the next consultation I told her about the adjustment they had made and she told me that we would request a new exam both of TSH and progesterone. The day I went to my laboratory I had nothing requested so I had to call the office for two weeks until I was able to get her to ask for the tests. When I got to the consultation I asked her how my exams were and she told me that it was fine that I did not have toxoplasmosis (that she had asked me for additional) but I was interested in TSH so I asked her and she told me everything is normal, so I left the consultation calm because I had to take the same dose. But in the afternoon I was able to access my labs and confirm that she had not requested neither TSH nor progesterone. So, I wondered how she could tell me that everything was fine? So, I preferred to contact her again, I went personally twice and called for two weeks without achieving anything. Today I personally approached her at her consultation with the printed laboratories to tell her "I am 16 weeks pregnant, my last TSH levels were high and I am on progesterone treatment and I have not had a test ", but her answer was that she had many patients and that she could not attend me for a minute, that she would call me in the afternoon. I tell all this because I want the patients who go to her consultation to know that as a health professional myself, I do not feel supported by her, that if I did not know about all these issues I do not know how my pregnancy would be handled because she does not care about the well-being of her patients. She as a doctor should know the diseases you have, the medications you take and what tests she should request. It should not be the patient who is always behind her saying "you forgot this doctor, please ask me for this test." I think that she does not take adequate time with each patient, not to mention that you can last up to 1 hour waiting for her to attend you. read more

Worse damn office for prenatal care. I came in already 5 months just finding out. They made me wait for two hours. With no type of blood pressure check, weight nothing just gave me paperwork for bloodwork and comeback in 4weeks to do a Pap smear. I was so caught off guard and upsets. They visit was on a Wednesday the next Wednesday they had not put through my authorization to have an ultrasound and now said they are putting it through to be expedited. So at that point I said I'm over it and called insurance to request a new doctor. Before I could get in with the new doctor I had to go to ER because of pain and was still considered under her care so she was contact. She followed up with me to go over bloodwork and then confirmed I had an appointment with her 11/15 which is what I have on my calendar. For some reason I called to confirm because I was headed to the office and realized my calendar said 11/15 which is tomorrow. The receptionist stated that my appointment was canceled and the doctor was not seeing patients tomorrow do to surgeries so she was contacting people to cancel. Then when I mentioned that I spoke to the doctor a week ago and she confirmed my appointment she argued that I canceled with her 10/17 when I called and my authorization for ultrasound was not submitted which I did. However I just confirmed with the doctor herself that I would be coming in 11/15. I also mentioned the two hour wait and the lady said I don't know what office you can go in and not wait. So I asked if a two hour wait is something normal because there would be no point of an appointment. So frustrated and pregnant 6months now with no prenatal care I'm back at square one amd have to find a new doctor. This lady and her staff are unorganized, unaccommodating, rude and no sense of care for the patient time they take to use there service. Ridiculous if you are pregnant and won't great care with no stress this is not the place to go. Stay away. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Elledge based on a recommendation from a friend, who warned me about the staff, but said Dr. Elledge was worth it. I made my yearly checkup appointment, only to have it rescheduled twice. The staff didn't return any of the voice mails that I made to attempt to reschedule my appointment, so I ended up having to call the office multiple times just to reschedule - each time for more than a month later. Dr. Elledge was so highly recommended that I sucked it up and dealt with the hassle that was working with her staff. The day of my appointment (more than 2 months after my first appointment was scheduled), her staff was incredibly rude. Again, I had been warned about that, so I sucked it up and tried not to take it personally. And then I waited over 30 minutes to get taken back to the room, where I waited over an hour (in the horrible paper gown) for Dr. Elledge to arrive. After my appointment, I found out that my insurance had been billed incorrectly. When I called Dr. Elledge's office to see if they could help me rebill my insurance correctly, the receptionist told me it was my responsibility to know the ins and outs of all the provisions of my insurance, and yelled at me. She was rude, insulted me and my intelligence and said that she didn't care if I called the office manager (which I did). For everyone who is saying that the wait times are horrendous and that her staff is terrible, she speaks poorly of her staff, messages are never returned, that is all true and seems nothing has changed since I was her patient way back in 2005. Some people are poor managers of time and of staff, and she is one of those. But most importantly she was NOT a good doctor. I told her about my extensive family history of blood clotting and pulmonary embolisms. She did nothing with this information. She wasn't at my birth and never followed up after. Then I nearly died of multiple large pulmonary emboli in my right lung. She could have done many things to prevent this. Both my son & I are lucky to be alive given her choice to literally do nothing with the information I gave her. She didn't even educate me on warning signs or anything to do to prevent clots, nor discuss having me tested for possible syndromes or any indications that I might be at risk. Literally nothing. My baby ended up being delivered by Dr. Scharffenberger who was an amazing doctor. I ended up switching to him after this and even with my (later-identified serious genetic condition) was able to carry two healthy twin babies to term! He never left me waiting, treated everyone respectfully, patients and staff alike, but most importantly was a very good and competent doctor! read more
