This store is a joke, if you plan to buy any jewelry, DO NOT go to this store!! They do not know what they're doing and get offended if you question anything, seems fishy to me. I bought a $6000+ ring in October. In February I noticed that my "white gold" was no longer white and had turned gold. I knew that they would have to have my ring for at least 2 weeks to send off to be "redipped" so I just said "ill deal with it". Last week (May) I noticed that my diamond was starting to turn a little white too. Now when you look at my ring face on, the main diamond is white and the surrounding diamonds are all normal (like they're the only real diamonds...) I called this store and spoke with Michelle, I explained, I had my last ring from Kays for 13 years and only had to have it redipped 1 time and my diamond never changed colors. She didn't care to hear what I was saying and just kept telling me "if you wear it in the shower, while doing dishes, etc it'll rub off sooner". I responded, oh, so do exactly what I did with my last set from you guys?! and she just wanted to keep saying the same thing over and over to me. I told her I understood what she was saying and to please stop saying the same thing over and over, but it was as if she was trained "you are only allowed to say this!" like a robot, she had nothing else she could say to me. I asked if I was going to be compensated anything or loaned a new ring while they have my ring for at least 2 weeks and she said "we do not rent jewelry". Well, I wasn't going to pay for it, so it wouldn't have been renting it anyway. When I purchased this ring, I had to have it sent off to be sized. They had it for almost 3 weeks, because the first time they sent it out they were too incompetent to include the size it needed changed to, so they just cleaned the ring the first time. Then I had to call them 5 times to see if they had my ring, the 5th time I called and she said "we've had it here for 2 days!" oh...so you were just waiting on me to call you huh? This store is pathetic, they have lost my family as customers and this is where we have bought ALL of our jewelry in the past. I understand people make mistakes, but it seems like that is all this store does. read more

If you're going here to get anything repaired, you might want to reconsider. We went in to get the gem on my ring fixed as it had chipped. We've done this before (at a different store) with no problem. Problems started when our warranty had apparently disappeared into thin air. After looking for a few minutes, the clerk (Brittany, I think) assured us we could still get the repair done at no charge (see pic) while another asked if we wanted to get the ring replated as well. Since we were told we wouldn't be charged we said yes to both even though we were more concerned about the gem being fixed. Ring went off for repairs, easy. However a few days later we got a call from the workshop saying that they couldn't work on the ring due to no warranty being attached to it. Okay? So we called the store manager, she said she would call the service center and get back to us. Well, she never did. We had to go back into the store to ask what was going on. The whole conversation felt as though they couldn't be bothered with us, and we were just told that the store manager 'talked to service' (not from her own mouth) and they couldn't work on any part of the ring because they didn't do 'half services'. As in they can't replace the gem because they would need to do the replating and fix the prongs to do so (all of which is under our warranty they couldn't spend more than five minutes trying to help us find). Mind you, we only wanted the GEM fixed, not the replating. That was offered to us. Even though they said the gem was covered on the warranty, they refused to do repairs. We asked if they could just send the ring back with a new gem (not installed) and we got a 'eh' at best. At that point we just asked for the ring back, and said we would be contacting the next day with info on when it would come in. They've had our ring for about 2.5 weeks at this point by the way. We actually did get a call saying it would take 2-3 days to come in. Cool. Except four days went by with no call. I had to call on the fourth day to ask what was going on. The person who answered put me on hold for six minutes, saying she was going to talk to the same manger who had been 'helping' us this whole time. She cane back and said the ring was not coming until next week, days after we were told and no one called to even tell us. By this time I'm livid but, of course, it got more frustrating when we were on our way home and got a call that, go figure, the ring did come in and we could pick it up. Communication here is a joke. The cherry on top was that the same manager literally tried to sell us a new warranty for our 'fustrations' when we got there. None of this would have happened if our warranty had been found in the first place! They didn't even bother to call the previous store where we had gotten the work done before. They told us to like it wasn't even worth their time. So my ring is still broken and Kay's has lost my respect. Be wary if you shop here! read more

So far, we've been so pleased by her service since Peter found her while ring shopping, that we've bought...my engagement ring, Peter's "engagement gift", a temporary ring for me (so I would let my engagement ring get sized), a pendant, and a journey necklace. Considering how rarely I go "real" jewelery shopping, that should tell you a lot! :) Important to know: My engagement ring was a special order...and couldn't be found else where. It's a "vintage" or edwardian style and most places didn't carry or have the ability to order similar style rings! She also goes out of her way to help you, and will do what she can to get you the best price (giving you sales dates, so you can return to make the purchase, extending a sale from the day before, etc). This store at the Broomfield Flatiron location is the BEST! Greg the manager is incredible! My fiance bought my engagement ring here. Unfortunately we lost a diamond. Greg allowed us to upgrade to a larger diamond ring even though we were a month over the return time frame. Great customer service when you are spending a huge amount of money on such a special item. I also purchased my fiancé wedding ring here because we loved the customer service. Thanks to Jesse as well.....we will miss you. For a chain jewelry store this location is a good find. Don't go to this location. It is not worth going to. Seriously travel the extra miles to go to the Loveland or Westminster location. My parents have been buying from Kays as long as I can remember. My husband and I have now been loyal customers for 3 years also. In total we have been going to Kays for over 20 years to buy our jewelry. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with the customer service from this company. Went in to make a routine inspection and payment because my husband soccer team practice was near by. So you would think convenient. I wish I never even bothered. Long story short, she lost my necklace charm. Claimed I never gave it to her. Once she found it, on her side of the counter, on the floor, she states it was my necklace fault... Today I called another location just to make sure everything went through because I felt uneasy. She printed off my inspection for my rings but not my necklaces claiming "it's in the system for all Kays to see". Needless to say the other location could find nothing of the sort. It was like I wasn't even there yesterday. At least my payment went through. If you care about your jewelry at all don't go here! read more

Beware - They will try and trick you into signing up for a credit card. I was walking through the mall and a salesperson asked if I could "help" him out - he said if I signed up to be a "preferred customer" he would reach his quota of two per day. Nobody told me that I was signing up for a credit card. If the form I filled out said anything about credit cards, it wasn't obvious or well marked. So today I received the credit card in the mail and immediately canceled it. Unfortunately it is already showing up on my credit score as an inquiry. I don't know yet if it will show up as an account. I will never shop at Kay Jewelers because I feel like I was deceived and they obviously employ shady people who use shady tactics... you shouldn't mess with people's credit! I have to say that I have had a GREAT experience there when it came to customer service, but I would be very careful buying anything here. We bought my engagement and wedding ring here and my husband's wedding ring. His ring came in a size and a half too big and the clerks at the store said that it had to have been a switch at the shop. (Which should have been my first sign that the repair shop is shockingly dysfunctional.) When we reordered his ring in the correct size, we sent my wedding band in to be resized and replated along with my engagement ring. The engagement ring needed to have the setting tightened and a replating. When it came back two weeks later, the wedding band hadn't been replated at all and the engagement ring had DEEP gouges in three of the four sides surrounding the diamond. Apparently they used a vice grip and tightened it too much. They sent it back assuring me it would come back fixed, but unfortunately their method of fixing it involved just shaving off the gouges, which completely disfigured the ring. When I spoke with their corporate staff, they wanted me to send it back to the SAME SHOP THAT DAMAGED IT to be analyzed and to see if it could be fixed better. After I insisted on a different shop analyzing it, they finally agreed to replace the ring with a new one or to have it repaired by a different shop. The problem is that evidently their repair shop issues are widespread. If you want to keep your warranty you HAVE to submit the jewelry to their repair shops. I asked for a full refund for my set and was denied the refund because I didn't ask for it within 60 days of purchase, even though if they hadn't damaged it I would never has asked for a refund in the first place. Essentially, if you want to buy jewelry for fun and are not worried about a warranty, you shouldn't worry about buying there. The salespeople are nice and helpful. But if you're going to invest in a piece of jewelry you hope to have forever, DON'T DO IT. You will be strapped to them and their incompetent repair team forever. It's better to go somewhere with repair people on staff you can talk to. read more

I'll never make a purchase at Kay ever again!! My husband and I picked out wedding rings from Kay about a year and a half ago and both of them have been sent back. His has been sent back once due to dis coloring and mine 4 times now for either loose diamonds or missing diamonds. They recently called my husband (After having my ring 2 weeks) to inform him that I would either need to wait 3-4 weeks for a new diamond or to pick out a new ring. My husband told them he would talk with me and have me call back. When I called back a woman named Trish answered claiming she couldn't find my order under his or my name and placed me on hold for several minutes to "find out who called him". Once she returns she said ok well I figured it out and it looks like you have the option of waiting 3-4 weeks for the diamond that specifically is meant to be set in your ring or we can just place another type of diamond in the ring. When I asked her about my ring and how I think it is a design flaw and would like to figure out how I can maybe exchange my ring for something that isn't going to fall apart as if we spent twenty dollars on it (when it was well over a $3000 ring) Trish just kept saying " mmmhmmm mmmmhmmm" as if she didn't even care to hear me or try to figure out a resolution to this ongoing issue. I then said ok well just order the back ordered diamond and I'll speak with a manger at a later date and she says " I am the store manager". A store manager that can't find my order initially or even try to help is no manager to me. Frustrating, absolutely Frustrating!!! I am extremely disappointed with the misinformation and snobby customer service I experienced with Kay! I was told when I purchased my daughters necklace that the warranty covered a new chain if it broke. Not the case according to the other sales associate when we took it in. As I went back a second time the customer beside me also said they misinformed him of the same thing. After the first repair, the chain came back looking like a hack job instead of a decent repair. Then you try and tell them how dissatisfied you are and they talk over you making the customer out to look like a liar. So it's time to sign my second repair slip, and instead of it being handed to me it's dropped on the counter with the pen and told, "sign here". So what I've come to experience my first time with Kay Jewelers is they lie about the warranty and they treat their customers as if their liars. If has to be special order....DON'T DO IT!!!!! I special ordered some Rose Gold Hoops from Kay.com and they arrived at the Broomfield store with a dent in them. The only way to exchange the special ordered item is to return the item and purchase again. If I did this through the store, it would have cost an additional $60+. In addition, the return of the money could take up to a month if returned to a credit card or they can send you your money back as a check in the mail. A simple exchange can't occur with special orders as they wont guarantee the products that are special ordered.....FREAKING STUPID!!!!! read more

I went to take a ring in to get resized and the first time I took it in they gave a a very reasonable price but we backed up in there repairs so I went to check a few other stores. Even though Kay was backed up we decided to go with them because they had the best pricing and I couldn't afford the others. When I returned they gave me a pricing that was over twice the original price despite knowing the price they gave me before. I decided to go with them anyways because they were still the cheapest option. Three weeks go by and I call to them again to make sure they have the right email because I haven't heard from them at all. This is a few days after the ring was expected to be done. I call 8 times in the span of three hours and nobody picks up. I call another store to see if they can transfer me just Incase the wrong number was posted. The person I talked to on the phone was extremely rude and wouldn't even transfer me to the other store. Long story short, don't ever shop at Kay jewelers or get anything repaired there. My husband got my engagement ring here and wedding band and it has been nothing but a nightmare since. I sent my rings in to be inspected and cleaned and when they took the diamond out they messed up the prongs. Spoke with a lady named Jessica and she was on it- Jessica gets 5 stars but overall the store gets 1 star. They sent my ring back in and fixed the prongs but when I came in to pick it up I asked for someone to locate the serial # on my diamond. Took 3 people to find it and it's only a partial serial # because they hid it under the prong. I've also had issues with my warranty not being able to be located when I go in. Once I called Jessica back and she wasn't in. I got a guy named Corey who could give two shits less. I explained my situation and he was about ready to hang up until I asked his name. Then I firmly stated that he grab a pen and paper and jot down my name and #. Seems like they hired a bunch of immature clowns in that location who don't even care to help out their own coworkers. It sucks because every time I go in there I leave so upset and my husband has to apologize for the mess when it's not even his fault. I don't even want to get my upgrade on my ring done there. I'll have to find another store who sells Tolkowsky diamonds. When my boyfriend and I first went to Kay we left feeling positive about our purchase for my promise ring. Unfortunately when the ring arrived one of the prongs was pushed inward causing a diamond to be out of place. I have never left a store so angry in my life. My fiance bought my ring from here and It is the most beautiful ring. We have been engaged for almost a year now, so I have not had my ring for very long. I was looking at my ring and I am missing a diamond. Which first off should not happen because 1. I have had it for a year. 2. I treat my ring like my baby and never wear it when I know I shouldn't. So yesterday I took my ring into Kays thinking I wouldn't have to pay for my diamond that fell out because my fiance paid for the insurance that states I would not have to pay for anything if something happened to my ring. When I get there the manager at the time looks up my information and says that I have to pay for the diamond because it says in their records that I don't get it inspected. Well, that's a lie because I am in there every month getting it clean and inspected. I tell the manager that and she said well it's not in our records. There is another male working there and I say how is that my fault that it's not in the records. I am in here every month. The guy proceeds to interfere in the conversation and says "it's not our job to put it in the records so get over it and pay for the diamond." His exact words. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I then call my fiance and ask him what to do, and the manager says, " Well let me know if you want the diamond or not because I don't have time for this while you are on the phone." I simply called my fiance to ask him what to do and she threw that comment on me instead of being nice and saying I will be back in a second. I do go in every month and my fiance will the same thing. They blamed the whole situation on me because they didn't do their job by putting it in their records that they do inspect my ring. The guy who made that comment has inspected it before so he knows I am right. I now do not have a ring for 3 weeks and had to pay for a diamond that was under warranty while being disrespected. I just bought my wedding band and my future husband's wedding band there and will be returning the bands because of the customer service. Never shop at this Kay's ever. I usually go to the Kays at Colorado Mills because Kelsey is amazing and so sweet, but went to flat irons to do some shopping and went to have my ring cleaned after owning it for a little over a month after sizing it I was told there were several diamonds loose which is frustrating considering I just got it but regardless the lady said your always gonna have this problem with this type of ring ummmmmmm really not exactly what someone wants to here with there brand new engagement ring, regardless let them take it in to fix it since we were already there. Go to pick it up and waited a good 15 minutes to be helped and she hands it to us and says does it look good, before we even finished looking at it she was like sign here and was so rude as if we were inconveniencing her. Have to disagree with the other reviews here. I just had a terrible experience with this store. I ordered a wedding ring from them 2 weeks ago. At the time, they could not tell me when it would be in; they said they would know the exact date in a couple of days, but in any case assured me it would be in plenty of time for my late June wedding. The saleswoman said she would call me in a couple of days when they knew the exact date. No phone call. No big deal, I call back a week later, someone looks my order up, says the ring will arrive in a week. Great. Well, my fiancee just happened to be at the mall today and stopped in to check on it, and they said "oh, sorry, it turns out that we can't get that ring for you at all, it's not coming in." Apparently, they discovered this 2 days ago, and nobody has called me to let me know. Just unbelievably bad customer service, and it has now made finding a wedding ring a rush job. I use to shop at this Kay's location when Matt and Sarah were managing and they were great!!! I was extremely please with their service. They were very professional. Now that they are gone, the service is nothing close to how it was when they were managing. The current manager seemed very unprofessional and didn't have much knowledge the day I went in their to shop for a gift. I noticed all the sales associates talking including the manager, talking about unprofessional matters and cursing while I was there, knowing I was there. That same day I noticed the manager giving a sales associate a difficult time and didn't bother helping her when she had a situation with another customer who came in. What a way to treat your employees when they are the ones who reflect the company and try their best to provide excellent customer service. Manager's are made managers to be a people person and treat their employees with respect, and make it easy for them to achieve their goals and guide them. The customer service as well as respect for people has gone down since new management was brought in. Kay's is definetely not what it use to be. I don't see myself ever shopping at this location again. read more

Horror story here. I purchased a ring back in December for my soon to be fiance. After a few months she brought it to my attention that it was too similar to the last one she had and she would like something different. She went back to that store to trade it in and she found something that she was told would work. My only stipulation was that it was right around the same cost. Before authorizing the transaction on my account I talked to the rep and she told me that it was only going to jump payments $30 a month and that the cost was right about the same. I said okay. Come to find out that it was not a $3,000 ring like she told me it was a $6,500 ring and was $3,000 difference added to my bill. By base payment jumped from about $190 to $355. Not the $30 that I was told. Now trying to get in contact with anyone is impossible and it seems like they just don't care. The employee no longer works there and now I am stuck with a huge bill that is costing us our pre approval on a house. Awful experience and I would recommend staying clear. read more
