Their advertisement said it was a 14K yellow-gold bezel. I asked 3 times if it was solid gold or hollow. Melanie said solid. After I received the item I looked for the 14K gold stamp; there was none. After receiving the piece I called Melanie back to again confirm 14K solid yellow gold, she was quite snippy and rude. She reneged stating only the bezel was gold and the cage was not solid gold. Why was it advertised as 14K gold? If the bezel was indeed Stuller I am sure it would have a 14K gold stamp. Not a lot of integrity here! I've worked at a jewelry store. I know what a loop is, most stores have testing equipment to determine gold authenticity. I would never do business here again.

I built up a great relationship with my SA. Amazing treatment every time and I went A LOT. Complimentary beverages, complimentary cleaning of jewelry. Well, unfortunately at Oakbrook service was non-existent. Which is too bad because it's a nice store with good selection. I thought to myself maybe because I'm 26 they figured I couldn't afford their jewelry? Except it really couldn't be that because I walked in wearing $10k+ in DY pieces (necklaces, bracelets) with my fiancée and mom also wearing multiple DY pieces. Not a single person greeted us or approached. I'd notice them looking at me but wouldn't approach besides one of their pregnant associates bless her heart, but she was already helping someone at the time. Eventually my fiancée and I approached someone and my fiancée asked about one of their bracelets but the person turned and walked away to the other side of the store for no reason. Anyways, spent about 10-15 min in there and never felt more uncomfortable to be in a DY store. 3-4 SAs avoiding us and doing nothing. I don't wanna be extra, but I'd figure at least wearing that much jewelry from them I could get a hello. If they pulled up my account, they'd probably had a slightly different tune. This occurred after only 15 minutes being in the store. She provided little to no details on the process and what exactly we were paying for. On top of that, we received conflicting information about our warranty depending on who we spoke to. This lack of consistency was frustrating and left us feeling unsure about what was actually covered. Even during pickup, there was a lack of attention to detail--we were asked if we wanted to wear the band out instead of receiving a box and bag, despite the fact that we are not yet married. It just reinforced the feeling that our situation wasn't being thoughtfully considered. For something as meaningful as wedding bands, we were hoping for a more personalized and seamless experience. Unfortunately, the lack of consistency, communication, and overall attentiveness took away from what should have been an exciting and memorable process. The deal was $99 for $225 worth of jewelry. I stopped by at the end of the month, eager to check out what they had, but I was kind of disappointed to find out that they didn't have much in my price range or really anything I liked. I knew I didn't want to spend more than my youswoop (or not much more at least)-if I'd been able to afford the next step up, I would have. I can't remember who helped me that day, but he was very nice and told me they planned to have their new store (at 28 N. Wabash) open come March, and that they'd have more in my price range by then. I walked by last week and their new store was still closed (Samir told me today that they hope to open next month). Bummer. I decided to go in today to their booth location at 7 South, because well, my youswoop was burning a hole in my pocket (as these things do). I'm glad I did. Samir was really nice and very helpful, showing me things in my price range. Unfortunately (and the reason this is not a 5 star review), they still didn't have much around $200-$250 ($25 over my youswoop, the max I would've spent) I'm fairly certain the purpose of the youswoop was to discount bigger purchase like an engagement ring, but I still would've liked them to have more options. Anyway. They have some beautiful pieces. Many things you won't find at most jewelry stores, which is pretty cool. Samir helped me select some Sapphire earrings after much deliberation on my end. I'm very happy with my purchase. You may find yourself now asking, "What, praytell, will keep you going back to Mon Ami, when you don't have much money and they don't have a lot in your price range?" The answer is simple. You see, my sapphire earrings are yellow gold. Anybody who knows me knows that I loathe yellow gold (save for literally two pieces of jewelry, one from my husband, and one that belonged to my grandmother). So when I was looking and found these earrings, of course I asked if they had any in white gold. They did not. However, Samir said that they would dip them in w.g. for me, and that I could pick them up tomorrow. What really sealed the deal for me with Mon Ami was that he told me that they normally charge $10 for dipping, but he would just take my youswoop as the entire payment (earrings were $200, tax was $19 or so), and for me to not worry about giving them the rest. I really appreciated that, even though it wasn't a huge difference in cost. That gesture will be what keeps me going back to Mon Ami-it's how you get yourself a loyal following. Thanks, Samir!
