I needed a repair to a sentimental ring. The shank had broken and there was a second crack forming. This ring is 70 years old and was given to me 23 years ago. I wear it almost daily. The jewelers at Donna's offered to repair or replace. It was a substantial difference in price but knowing how the shank was compromised, I went for replacement. They suggested a thicker and slightly wider shank and sized it up a 1/4 size. I picked it up a week later and it looks fantastic. You cannot detect the repair and it was beautifully polished. She did a thorough review of the ring to ensure there wasn't anything else wrong and gave me proof that it was my stone and ring (very professional). Getting engaged can be a pretty scary thing to do. Not only are you saying adios to your single-hood, but any time you're looking to spend a few thousand dollars on something you need a microscope to really get a good look at, it's a pretty stressful situation. Well, any of the fears that I had about the ring buying portion of the engagement process were completely absent at Donna Jewelry. Donna never seemed like she was in it for the money and because of that I always felt comfortable. Before we even talked about style or the price, she spent a good deal of time learning about who my special lady was and how I planned to pop the question. It was totally different than what I was expecting. After a couple of visits and a few outside consultants we had an idea of how to proceed building the ring. That was until we completely had to change everything after learning some new intel on the style my lady wanted. Not only was Donna and her family able to scrap our original idea and start a new one from scratch, but she did it in under a week so I was able to proceed with my original Thanksgiving Day proposal plan. Let me start by saying, my experience would have been better if I had asked for Donna. I wish I could give 5 stars. In fact, my ten year is coming up and that is why this is being posted now. My engagement ring is beautiful. They did a fabulous job on it. 9 years later I still look at it and admire it. The wedding band...not so much. I don't wear it actually. The wedding band had a pattern to it that was supposed to match the engagement ring. It didn't. There was beading on the engagement ring that didn't show up on the wedding band. There was more..., but that's not the issue. The issue is that they make a mold of the ring before they make it. I showed up without my husband who is the one who has done work with them before. Aka ex-wives lol. Donna nor her parents helped me. It was someone else who got MAD when I told them I didn't like the mold. I explained that the cut was too drastic between the diamonds & the (ahem...non-matching) band & its design. The diamonds were smaller than the band & while I didn't pick the diamonds, I asked if she could maybe not make the edge so drastic. Could they just shave off the edges so they weren't 90 degrees, & there was a smoother edge. She huffed and rolled her eyes and said fine. When I went to pick up my ring, already attached to my beautiful engagement ring, it was the mold. EXACTLY. The entire family comes over all excited to tell me how great it looks. It was horrible. I have mom, dad, Donna, another couple looking at engagement rings all gushing over this ugly mismatched ring. One year later I managed to get it dislodged from the engagement ring and I haven't worn it since. It makes me think of a time when I couldn't stand up for myself in front of other people. read more

Service and Quality I had lost one of my favorite (birthstone opal) earrings, and took the remaining one in to see if they could replace it. After looking online at a couple of places to get my now husbands wedding band resized, this place had the best reviews and many people mentioned it was very easy and cheap for ring resizing. I messaged them through Yelp and confirmed they would be open and available the following Saturday and could help with my needs (which they confirmed with a speedy reply). So it was a month before the wedding and we brought my husband's great grandfathers wedding band (from 1910!) in and needed to get it sized down a couple sizes. They helped him get the right size and while I was there I had a ring from my grandma that has a number of small white opals in which 2 had fallen out and been lost. They said they could find replacements and that we could get both rings back in 4 days time! Fast forward 4 days and I picked them up and they looked great, the opals you couldn't even tell which were the replacements! And for my husband's ring, they were able to resize without having to cut anything out, so we kept the full gold. All of that with great service for only $99!! ($30 for the resize and $60 for the opals plus tax). read more
