And we got a pretty good idea at what we both liked. My wedding rings had just come back from being cleaned and they closed without notifying me that they were going to close or giving me any option to pick them up or have them mailed and my wedding rings have now just been sitting there for months and I have no idea when I will be able to access them. This is terrible customer service, they should have notified customers they were going to close up shop and allowed them to pick up their jewelry first. read more

About 2 months ago I realized that I needed to get a ring for my now fiance before our planned trip which was only a week away. I didn't even think about the time they may need for sizing. I went to a few places and understandably I was told they couldn't do it with such short notice. I tried Kay's and I can't begin to tell you how much help they were. My fiancé and I wanted to try on a ring but nobody would help us. Every other customer had at least one associate helping them some had two even THREE associates helping them but nobody would help us! I was finally fed up and went up to one of the associates doing nothing and asked if the manager was in. She just stared at me and said "yeah." She charge me more than what is needed and I confronted her about it and than she gave me the wrong ring and started saying that's the ring I bought. She is fake ring identification, horrible customers survive and charges people more than the price . My Fiance and I are very happy with the service we experienced at Kay jewelers Windward mall. We were shopping at the mall, going into every jewelry store there. I must say that as soon as we walked into Kay's, Devvin and Kay made us feel very welcomed. There were other jewelry stores that made us feel judged right off the bat, but we didn't get that feeling at all at Kay's. Devvin was very friendly and sat us down right away to pick out my Fiances dream ring. My finace saw something she really liked, but wanted to still look around before making a final decision. We ended up going across to Zales and found a ring there that she really liked also, but we were disappointed with the customer service. The girl we delt with at zales was new from my understanding, so she didn't know much and I felt as if she didn't take us seriously at first either. Anyway, to make a long. Atory shorter, we bought the ring from Zales, (only because it was a good price)but had to get it ordered in yellow gold and sized. They told us 4-6 weeks which we weren't happy about because it was cutting it too close to our wedding date, but we bought it anyway. (So before I get into another Yelp story, if you wanna hear about our Zales experience, I'll be writing another review on them). We went back 4 days later and asked for a refund because my Fiance was still stuck on a ring she saw at kay's and Kay's could get the ring done faster. After all the hassle I went through trying to get a refund from Zales, I was very pleased that we decided to go back to Kay's. Devvin remembered us and was nice enough to let us vent our situation to her. She then told us to show her what it was we were looking to buy from Zales and she with the rest of the crew at Kay's, created my Fiances dream ring! I wanna explain to anyone reading this, that this review could go on for days, because my fiance and I weren't the easiest couple to work with. We were very finicky with the diamonds and we constantly called the store to check on the status or ask questions. We popped by and called them so much that I thought they'd be hiding from us whenever they'd see us coming.lol But NOT AT ALL! It was actually the opposite. They always remembered us and they'd be waving hi to us before we even get into the store. Always smiling and welcoming. Heather, who I believe is their store Manager was also exceptional! We worked with Heather and Devvin the most. They both made us feel very comfortable. We could laugh and joke with them and we were comfortable enough to tell them if we weren't happy about something. They would always go above and beyond to be sure we were satisfied and happy with the ring. It wasn't like we lucked out with the perfect experience either if that's what you're thinking. We had to have the ring sent back a couple times and we ended up upgrading it after the fact, so we had to wait a little longer, but all that work is done by the people in the mainland working on the ring, and because Heather and Devvin had such amazing customer service with us, they kept us calm and smiling and did whatever they had to so we'd be happy. Their customer service was really what sold us. If I'm not comfortable, I'm not gonna drop money. We feel like we created a relationship with all of them there and don't ever hesitate to walk in there just to stroll through and look around. I'll be honest and say that it was Heather, Devvin, and Kay that made our first experience of engagement just amazing and exciting and Kay Jewelers should feel very honored to have them as employees! Just wanted to leave feedback from my visit to your windward mall location in kaneohe, Hawaii. My Grilfriend and I went into your store to "window shop" so she could give me an idea of the type of ring she would be interested should I I propose (very soon). First we sized her finger, and then told the 2 sales consultants that we would like to just look around. They jumped to the conclusion and stated bluntly "congratulations" We looked at her puzzled, and she then said to my future fiancé, "well he did propose didn't he". My girlfriend politely said no, that we were just looking around and they looked at us like we had no business "just looking". It made my girlfriend and especially myself extremely awkward and uncomfortable and we slowly made our way out the door as they continued to watch us. We went across the hall to Zales to look around-and later that night I ended up making a purchase from Zales. they were extremely friendly, social able, and said we were more than welcome to look around. They made us feel so comfortable at Zales and we found the perfect ring. I don't feel like sales consultants in a business like Kay's should ever assume what someone is in there for, but instead ask questions and allow us to share what we want. Saying "well he did propose didn't he" was completely appalling and disrespectful. very disappointed and will share my story with others. If I could give them no stars I would. My husband bought me a Pandora bracelet from this location during Christmas time. The woman who sold it to him told him all I needed to do was bring back the bracelet if it was too big. Well, that is exactly what I did. I went there on my lunch break to get a smaller size and the assistant manager was rude from the beginning. She told me I needed a receipt. We went back and forth for a few minutes until I finally said, "can't you look it up." The assistant manager never even offered to look it up, and just kept telling me in a sassy, condescending tone that I needed a receipt. Her and the other lady started to look through the system for my husband's information. After about a minute of searching she told me I had to come back with a receipt and that she couldn't find it. After being treated so poorly, I stood my ground and told her she would keep looking for the information because I know he bought it at that location. Eventually they found it. They couldn't find his information because they spelled his name wrong! After finding the information, she politely asks me what size I would like. I ended up returning the entire purchase I was so mad. I will never shop at any Kay jewelers again. read more

i was so thrilled with their professionalism. most of the time when you go into a jewelry store, the people there look at you funny if you're not dressed a certain way. but here, it was quite the opposite. the hubby and i came here a while back to look at wedding rings. we already knew what we had in mind, and had pictures to show them just in case. we were so lucky to have been helped by the main manager. he helped fulfill our requests; ordering our sizes/karats, and determining the pick up date. when we came to pick up our rings, the same manager was there to make sure everything was perfect. it was, and we both couldn't have been happier. :) read more

The lady that helped me was new. Her name was Melessa. She was very courteous and gave great personalized service. I went in there not intending on getting anything being a tightwad. She not only made me feel at ease, she had me do a credit application and had me looking at watches that I thought looked great on me. I decided on getting a chain. I went back another time and she again helped me as I wanted a cross pendant to go with my chain. I got one and got one for my son also, along with bear for my baby boy. If I could give windward mall a "0" I would. My family and friends buys jewelry from Kay's. I'm not the first to complain bout the windward mall location and customer service. The day my bf got my ring the man who helped was nice and very helpful. My ring is an engagement ring that sits on another set which sits perfectly that's the reason why he had bought it and why I loved it. I had the ring since mothers day and as a promise ring from him. In August I had to go back to windward mall for a repair on my ring and resizing of my bf's ring. Two weeks later at the "Promised date" the rings were ready. His ring was great but mines wasn't. I noticed that the engagement ring no longer fits and sits perfectly on the other set. It would pop out!!! So I complained to the "TWO" ladies that was helping us and they looked at me like I was crazy and they didn't see what I was complaining about. I walked away from frustration.....but came back after taking a breather. This time I showed the ring on my finger and showed them that the middle engagement ring is poping out. This time they (Two ladies) got my point and agreed to send it back. So while one of them (both ladies standing next to each other in front of me) was writing the receipt out. I spoke to tell them that I would like my ring back ASAP cause Im having back surgery on the 19th. When I was given the receipt... The promised date showed "9/17/16" and RUSH CUSTOMER SERVICE. So the ring would be back in Two weeks and b4 my surgery.....Great, right! Nope!!!! I called winward mall Kay's on 9/16/16 just to check the status of my ring and guess what? I was told that the ring was sent out on 9/15/16 and won't b ready to b picked up til Monday the 19th. So my ring hasn't been worn and apart from me for a total of one month. So of course I'm gonna complain cause I was promised a promise date and they didn't deliver. The manager who I was on the phone with was not helpful, never apologzed nor gave me a salution. I had to complain to customer service which I was on the phone with for over an hour. To also find out that I may also not get it by the 19th! Since I was not offered any solution I had decided to give them my solution. Which is, keep the ring and I want my money back! My request was approved by a corp manager. Customer service said, "Now I'm gonna have to call the district manager and store manager of the location (Windward mall) to get their approval." I thought the Corp manager already agreed. ?????????? Go figure. We just want the money my bf paid for for the ring and get my ring from someplace else that has good customer service and who will keep their promise to their customer. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could for Kay as a whole but especially my business with the Kay here at Windward Mall. I took my wedding set (engagement ring and wedding band) in for repairs and resizing. This ring purchased at Kay in 2009 from the Mainland had already had loose stones twice, which once resulted in the loss of a diamond. Granted, myself and my husband knew we didn't purchase the most expensive rings in the world at the time of our engagement (we were buying a house) but we spent a little more the $2500, so its still a decent amount of money in my opinion. We had purchased the Lifetime protection program, so all should have been well. Anyways, I drop my ring off on September 19th.. told it would be back in 2 weeks. Received a call in a week or so, stating that the jewler on island can't fix my ring... will need to be sent to mainland home office for repair, will be a few more weeks. Totally fine, no big deal. Several more weeks go by....... I have to call to check on it.... They say they'll call me back tomorrow after getting ahold of the main office to check on its status.... takes 3+ days for return call.... When they call they say it will be another 2-3 weeks. So it has been out for repairs for 6-7 weeks. Okay, again I'm fine with it as long as its fixed and I figure everything in Hawaii moves a little slower and I'm cool with that. Well, 9 weeks after my ring got turned in, and I was told it would be back in the store I call to check on it. Windward Kay says, "oh they said it would be here in 2-3 weeks, oh wait.. that was a week ago. Let us call and check". So they did, called right back and said that my ring still hadn't been repaired and was in the elusive "Diamond Room". I asked if I could call and speak to the home office myself and was told that no I couldn't be given that number. After looking for a home office number online, I found one and placed a call myself to customer service. I explained the situation to a nice man named David who was eager to help. He told me an entirely different scenario than what was being told me by Windward Kay staff. He said there was a problem with my ring, that it needed to be sent back to the vendor for repairs. It hadn't been done yet (he didn't know why or the reasoning and that was the fault of Kay's main office) and it could be ANOTHER 30-60 days without my ring. (4 + MONTHS said and done! Thats if this really even happens) Anyways, lots more was said and exchanged between myself and the customer service people but its all too much to type. To sum it up though, he exposed that Windward Kay had been less than honest this whole time and probably always knew my ring was going to take FOREVER to be fixed because Kay was in a dispute with the original vendor of my ring due to a strange setting. Windward Kay just kept elling me what I wanted to hear to keep me from bothering them. (Considering how long this process was taking I barely called, and I am a very reasonable person). Head office sent me a $100 gift card for my troubles, but it doesn't solve the problem. Still no ring.... not sure if I'll ever get it at this point. DO your business elsewhere. read more

After having a bad run in with Zales just minutes before, I walked into Kay's and had an amazing experience. I was greeted warmly by Kay, a sales associate. I thought it was so cute that her name was the same as the store's. She immediately asked me how my day was and started to build rapport with me, which I find awesome. Working in retail, that's a sure way to bond with your clients. Kay then noticed my ring and asked to clean it for me. How could I say no?! She was very fast at cleaning it and it looked so sparkly after! She then worked with me to find a Mother's Day gift. I found two pieces that I absolutely adored! One circle necklace and a stackable ring. I bought both right on the spot. She almost suckered me into buying a cute little elephant necklace too. Kay is such a sweet person and I loved having her as my sales associate!! I got her card before I left. I am so excited to go back and shop with her again! I would give them no stars for this if I could. Today was so unacceptable. So, my fiancé bought my wedding ring from the Windward Mall Kay about four years ago. Occasionally, the clasps holding the small diamonds break and they fall out. We have warranty on the ring, so we send it out to get fixed (by Le Vian, since it's one of their rings). So I come pick mine up today since I have free time. This is where the bullshit happens. So I go to the part of the shop where I always go to pick up my ring (it has a computer by it) because I notice they're helping another customer. The lady notices me and tells me "I'll be right with you after this ma'am). So ok, I wait. It takes ALL EMPLOYEES, NOT JUST ONE to help this customer. These ladies SEE CLEARLY the receipt in my hand to pick up my ring. So they make me wait. About 20 minutes. While I'm waiting, another couple walks on in, and the lady who told me that she would be with me shortly, WALKS OVER TO THE COUPLE THAT JUST WALKED IN! Like hello? Did you NOT just tell me you'd help me? Are you making me wait even more? So I stared daggers at her and she REFUSED to look ANYWHERE in my general direction. SO FUCKING UNPROFESSIONAL! Then, the lady at the back register says, "Youre here to pick up your ring right? We only do pick-ups here." LIKE NO, I have picked up my ring from the front register MULTIPLE times so why does she makes me walk to the back just to pick up my ring? I really used to love the service here, but today was just fucking ridiculous. I waited 20 minutes just to pick up my ring. They've definetly lost a loyal customer. I'd rather drive to town to get my ring fixed than at Windward Mall's Kay Jeweler. read more

I don't feel like this location deserve ANY stars. But i had to click one "1" pitiful star to put my thoughts and experience on line. Dealing with this location because it's much closer to home has left an awful taste in my mouth. I cringe every time I know I need to service my jewelry. 7 years of the same awful service. I always try to see the good but they fail me every opportunity. I've owned a few pieces from Kay's for about 7 years. Every time I need to get my diamonds serviced or cleaned, it takes about 15 - 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. I don't know whether because I don't look like I have a large amount of monies. The first time I had to service my engagement ring, this one Sales Representative saw me walk in, looking for assistance, but failed to acknowledge my presence. He is a short light skinned, looks like he's mixed of a asian and white descendant with glasses. You can't miss him, he's the shortest one. This past Saturday, i wanted to inquire and purchase something but was disgusted how he completely ignored me not once, twice, but 3 TIMES!!! He saw me looking at jewelry, he came around the counter and passed behind me to ask my girlfriends if they're needing assistance and they politely let him know, pointed to my direction that I needed help. He went about his way to help another couple who walked it later than I. I could not believe what I was experiencing. I was so appalled. I want to return ALL my jewelry and NEVER purchase any more from this location. If they want to SELECT what individuals to serve, then hey.. Kudos to them! The lady in the glasses, isn't too friendly as well. Takes a long time to acknowledge you. I don't understand how these individuals have a job in retail when they lack so much customer service. It's unbelievable. Listen, every one has a bad day, we all judge one way or another. But do this to people multiple times speaks a lot about these individuals. If THESE specific individuals DON'T like retail or even helping customers, QUIT!! There are other individuals who have those qualities who won't make people's experience horrible and put a well-known company to shame. This one individual PRETENDS to be working or that he's busy assisting to avoid helping me. This store location has a bunch of circus clowns working for them! Rating would be ZERO. I bought my wedding ring there a few years ago and recently bought a jacket at Zales because it was cheaper. I went in to get both rings resized and sawtered and the lady couldnt even give me an estimate on how much it would cost or how long. She took my rings, drew a sloppy picture to show the repair person how to fit both rings before sawtering than had me sign a paper. She didnt tell me that she was sending my ring into the mainland JUST to get an estimate!!! Over 10 days goes by, no call...I call her to get an update and she tells me she still hasnt heard from the repair shop yet...in the meantime, I go across to Zales who gives me an estimate right away, only $50 to do both sizing and sawtering...when Kays finally calls me back a couple days later (2 weeks just to get an estimate!), they tell me it will cost $81 dollars...I was contemplating if I wanted to wait for them to send it back than send it off with Zales (who said it wouldn take longer than a week to do both), I decide, I dont want to wait so I have them do it...Well, about 9 days later, I get a call that the ring is in BUT they placed my heart upside down in the jacket!!!! really??? almost a month without my ring and they mess up! maybe because her drawing was sloppy! so now I"m waiting for a return call with an estimate time of when my ring will be back and no call...one week later, I call today and the girl cant tell me either, she says someone else is working on it so she can call me back tomorrow...soooo pathetic! I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from kays ever again! or at least not from those sales clerk, every experience Ive had with them at Kaneohe is horrible, just rude! one lady tried telling me that my diamond was chipped! and the prong was bent! good thing she got a second opinon because the older gentlemen, who was the nicest thus far, said no thats how the cut is! and comign back again to get the so called bent prong fixed, another lady looks and says she doesnt see anything bent! wow, they need better trained employees...seriously! i cant wait to get my ring back, and I think I deserve a discount for all the hassle! if you ask me...go to ZALES!! they are really nice... read more

Bad customer service! My brother gave me a watch that he purchased from Kay Jewelers in the Windward Mall in Kaneohe on Oahu. I didn't care for the style of watch he got me, so I went to the same location of Kay Jewelers three days past Christmas. When I arrived, there were two salespersons behind the counter. One was helping another customer and the other was sitting at a desk behind the counter. I approached the salesperson sitting at the desk and waited for her to assist me. Five minutes later, that salesperson had not even acknowledged my presence. Finally, another salesperson appeared from the back office and assisted me. I explained that I received the watch as a gift, had the receipt, the box it came in and all the associated paperwork and said that I didn't really wear watches much and wanted to either exchange or return the watch. The salesperson immediately replied and stated that the person whom purchased the watch needed to be present if I wanted to return it, despite me having the receipt, and the whole time he had this tone and look about him that was indicative of an employee who hates his job and merely puts up with customers. I asked him whether he could just return it to the card used to purchase the watch, but he insisted that the person who purchased the watch needed to be present. At that moment I knew I didn't want to be a Kay Jewelers customer and told the salesperson that I thought it was a bad policy, that their customer service sucks, and that I would have my brother return to get his money back because they don't deserve our business. read more
