Dropped in while shopping in the area. I was greeted by two different store employees immediately after entering. The employees inquired about what I was shopping for or hoping to purchase. After inquiring about items such as name plate necklaces I was advised that personalized gift items were sold on line. I also inquired about a locket and she was able to show me the one that they had in the store but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I wish the selection was a little bit better. The customer service seemed prompt and attentive. I'd likely stop in from time to time just to see if they have anything that I like. read more

Call a watch here in early July and told the sales person as I was purchasing it that I was going to ask my girlfriend about it. She fit the watch to my wrist and when I brought it back the next day I was told I could not return the item because it had been altered. I was not told this when I purchased it I had already bought another watch from Kay online, and when it arrived, I had to return it since they would not take back the other watch. When I went to return the online order, I was told by the staff that I could return the other one, but then they wouldn't except it because it had been worn which I did wear after three weeks of thinking I had to keep it, very unprofessional and completely unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. After looking in some of the big box stores (my wife can recognize the box from Wal-Mart now), I popped into Kay to see what was available. I mentioned my budget and the associate was able to point me to a couple of items that fit the budget perfectly. I made my choice quickly, it was wrapped and boxed up, I paid for it, and I was out of the store 20 minutes later with a necklace for Mrs. K. Easy, easy. Now, I only have doubts about the maintenance plan. We have to bring the necklace back every six months for "service" so that they can make sure it's okay. I'm not sure it was a good idea because we will certainly forget. Note: Kay is in the Azaleos Square shopping plaza. It's the next shop to the left from Target. I first stopped by to ask what it would cost to have a small diamond reset in my wedding band (I had found the diamond). The girl said between $ 50 to $75. When I brought the ring in, they said the other 3 diamonds in the ring needed some work and it would be around $350. Today I got a call back...the estimate is $805! When I said absolutely NOT, just return it, I got a call 2 minutes later asking if $454 would be acceptable. Sorry, this place lost all credibility for me. read more

I have always been a fan of kays jewelers and spent THOUSANDS there! So my problem is I bought my wife a new ring and they sent it off to get sized. I was calling the store to see if maybe in came back in a little earlier than expected because that has happened in the past. I know they are probably busy at the store right now but they literally picked the phone up on 2 separate occasions and just hung up without a word. Third try they picked the phone up and just let it sit and no one said a word. Even if they are busy that's the most disrespectful/unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. We started looking in their showcases and then I see a fourth salesperson sitting at the register with her face in her phone. I ordered something online for my mother for Christmas. I got an email yesterday saying that it was in, so I stopped by this morning at 10 o'clock when they open to pick it up. All the other stores are opening at 10 their sign says they opened at 10 but it was a good 15-20 minutes before they finally opened. Then the lady that was helping me was so rude. I told her that I was here to pick up an online order. She looked at several places and couldn't find it and then says to me what was it a special order from online I said yes. She said oh well if you told me that the first place she could have found it faster and I said I did. She asked me if I wanted to wear it out after trying to locate it for several minutes and I said no. It's a Christmas gift. So she goes ahead and put it in a box but doesn't put it in a bag so I'm caring this expensive piece of jewelry in a box in my hand trying to get to the car.
