This place ruined my face! Every time i came to do my eyebrows the greedy owner would try to convince me to get a facial. I did and the first 3 days my face looked great. After the fourth day i got some small pimples that professed within days. I never had acne! The facial made me break out so bad it looked like i had cystic acne! It was horrible everyone was like what happened you never had pimples before. It was horrible i felt like shit! I work in hospitality too so i deal with ppl all day it was so hard to cover up the pimples with make up. It never went away until i went to the dermatologist a couple of months later. The doctor told me bc of how hard they did it and the tools they used it caused me to have some sort of bacteria in my skin that irritated it and caused these pimples. I had to be predicted antibiotics for it and two facial creams which costed me $150 which is what i costed me to have the facial plus tip. Basically the facial ruined my skin i still have scars and redness but after using what the doctor prescribed me the pimples cleared. Sooooo I paid for this "fancy" facial that ruined my skin and enlarged my pores only to pay to fix the mess it made. The owner doesn't give a shit she's full of greed! I get my eyebrows done in Astoria for 5 dollars and 5 for the lip not like Kay who charges 8 dollars for lip she's lucky she's the only decent place within that vicinity OH AND AFTER I RETURNED FOR EYEBROWS SHE HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME FOR A FACIAL AGAIN! read more

Kay's Threading is absolutely amazing. I found Kay a year and a half ago after moving to the area. I reviewed her Instagram and all of the pictures of her work were stunning. I called and spoke with Kay - she was able to fit me in the same day to do my eyebrows. Kay was so kind and made me feel like I've known her for years. I did threading for my eyebrows and henna tint and it looked great. It's so much easier than filling in my eyebrows everyday. Now I just wake up and I'm ready to go. It lasts over 2-3 weeks for me and I use a lot of serums/ moisturizers on my face. I asked Kay about making an appointment for a facial and even though she was fully booked she was able to come in early the next day and fit me in. She wanted to make sure she was able to fit me in before I went away for my birthday. The facial was very relaxing and a great experience! I did the four layer facial and my my skin looked so clear and was glowing! I got so many compliments afterwards. Kay was kind of to send me home with a serum for my face. I tried a scalp massage the next time I came in And it really helped with my migraines. Kay is such a wonderful person and I look forward to coming in for threading, eyebrow tint, and head massage every two weeks! You will not leave her disappointed! Today was my first visit to Kay's but it won't be my last! I previously lived in Astoria and had been getting my eyebrows done there. In fact, long after moving to this area I was still going to Astoria bc I was nervous about trying a new place. Unfortunately it had been months since I last did my eyebrows. The traveling back and forth just didn't make sense. Thankfully Yelp produced some great results and Kay's was at the top of the list. Reading all of her amazing reviews from loyal customers assured me that I'd be in capable hands but honestly I hadn't realized how absolutely pleasant my experience would be. I'm really happy that I found Kay's Threading. She was very friendly and warm and attentive. We talked about eyebrow goals for growth and how I might achieve that (I've literally never had a conversation like this anywhere else). By the end of my time there today we were showing each other pictures of our children. I feel like Kay runs this business from her heart and it shows. I'm so relieved to not only have found a new salon for threading but to deal with someone who genuinely enjoys what she does and makes her clients feel like they're truly welcome. I have been going to Kay's Threading for close to 10 years. In fact, my sister, who used to live in New York, drives in from Connecticut specifically to go to Kay for her eyebrows and other services they offer. When I first started going there, I had a bunch of small spots on both eyebrows that were not growing in due to having them done by people that didn't know what they were doing. I listened to Kay who told me not to try to fix my eyebrows on my own. Just wait until I came in for her to do them. It took about 4 to 5 months, because there were so many spots, however, now my eyebrows look amazing! I get compliments all the time on how clean and the shape of my eyebrows. They also offer many other services that are definitely worth trying! On a scale of 1 to 10, I wish I could give them a 20! especially to because of their customer service! Plus for the amount of time they spend on you, the prices are super reasonable, in fact, probably cheaper than any other place within at least 15 miles! I would never even think about going somewhere different, even if I was in a rush! Where do I start? Kay and her team are amazing when it comes to threading and henna. I started going there when COVID restrictions were lifted on salons and was still working from home. After reading the reviews, I wanted to give Kay a try. When you come in, you feel welcomed and are treated like family. Kay and her team are pros (they work fast, which is actually a good thing for threading) -- they work with you on what shape you want. Most importantly, they listen and get to know you! By the next few visits later, they remembered my name and what was going on in my life at the time. Recently, I started doing the henna tint. I was a little nervous because I'm blonde and didn't want my eyebrows too dark in contrast with my hair. While they do look a bit harsh when she's done (hint: wear glasses when you leave), it fades down to a nice shade in a day or two. Regardless, I feel so confident walking out of there. Also, ASK FOR THE HEAD MASSAGE!!! Worth it!! If that is not considered self-care, I don't know what is. I have been with Kay since she has owned her Threading salon on Metropolitan Avenue one thing I can say she has been very friendly and kind hearted when she brings an employee to the salon most of the girls have left her trying to take her clientele but with no success. Recently Kay had an employee who use to work at Kay's and did well but at the end this individual came one day and never came back she opened her own salon across from Kay's and also try to call the clientele from Kay's to come over to the new salon. ***UPDATE POST COVID**** Because of COVID we moved to Pennsylvania, and I STILL make the drive to Kay's to get threaded. She's simply the best there is. I'm also very comfortable with the health/safety guidelines that they are following to keep people healthy and safe. I can't stress enough how good she is, I've been to many threading places over the years and I've never been as happy with the outcome as I am with Kay. She's an artist. ***Come here when we can with the whole family to get our eyebrows threaded. We live in Boston but when we are in town- Kay's Threading is a must stop for eyebrow maintenance. The folks here are great and trained well. I never felt rushed nor is the workmanship sloppy. I've been getting my eyebrows and lip threaded here for about 6 years now. I first started with Kay but then tried the other girls and they are all very good. They do a very precise job and won't let you leave unless you are 100% satisfied. I can be very picky with every little hair I want out and they have no problem taking their time to make me happy. I recently started getting my Brazilian waxing done here as well. Pretty is the best!!! She does such a great job with threading and waxing and henna on my eyebrows as well. The henna lasts a couple of weeks and really helps to define my brow shape and color. There is always someone available to help you and even when they are busy they do their best to keep the wait to a minimum without making clients feel rushed. I've had my second visit with Kay and I'm HOOKED! Kay's Threading is a hidden gem in Middle Village. She takes her time, pays close attention to detail, continuously asks questions to make sure I get the perfect result. Not to mention, she's super freaking sweet too. I'd travel all the way to the city anytime I needed my brows done, which is ridiculous because I live in Queens. There is definitely no one like Kay! This is the second review I'm writing. I've come multiple times since discovering this place on yelp months ago and I love my brows more each time. She really listens and pays attempted to detail. What's more is I barely have to explain what I want because she knows better than me! Every-time she does a perfect job. There's another thing I want to highlight which is so important to me, she respects your wishes. I have been to many eyebrow places where expressing I dislike something leads to an attitude from the eyebrow woman. I didn't always get my eyebrows threaded, but since coming to Kay and her girls I never go anywhere else. They really do an awesome job, and I have def noticed my eyebrows growing in much nicer and fuller since I stopped waxing and started coming to Threading Curves which is a huge deal for me since my eyebrow wouldn't grow in one part. More recently, I tried their brazilian waxing services. Prepare yourself, because the first time - yes it's painful. HOWEVER, as recommended, I came back for a second time. and WOW, THE DIFFERENCE!! Once I built a relationship with Kay, which didn't take too long because of the sweet, honest person she is, I tried other services as well. I didn't even think to write a review before because of how satisfied I have been with them. I've been going to kays for 20 years, there is absolutely noone else I would ever let touch my brows. Her threading is impeccable. For the first time last month, I tried the henna, as I was going on my first vacation in 17 years. It was perfect, lasted the entire vacation. Beach pool, showering. I made sure not to rub or put anything oily on my brows, and it literally lasted a perfect 3 weeks, and now after a month I came back for the touch up. Highly recommend for those of you who have light, or sparse brows, who find themselves having to fill them in all the time. It's been months since I got my eyebrows done because of COVID-19. Today was the day that I looked in the mirror and could not take it anymore lol. I'm so glad I found Kay's! There is street parking. She greeted me and I got my temperature checked. Once I got the green light, she sanitized the chair. I've been getting my eyebrows for almost 20 years and let me tell you, Kay is a pro. I've known Kay for like at least 8 years ago because my husband used to go to her forever and then finally I ended up going to her. She's been handling my eyebrows and all my beauty needs literally forever. I was traumatized before coming to Kay and I didn't want to trust anyone. But it was literally like baby steps. I was visiting a friend ,so happened to go to this place for threading. The owner is a wonderful woman. I'm usually apprehensive about getting my eyebrows done from a new or a different person , but she did a great job . She also gave some tips and advices on how to improve their shape . I love my eyebrows now . I must say , she's an expert with eyebrows ! I also got a hydra facial done which was awesome . My skin looked so good after that I didn't wear any makeup for 2 days .
