I came to this nail salon based on a recommendation from a co-worker. I absolutely love the location of the salon, but the salon inside is a little outdated. I made an appointment before coming in. All of the technicians were with a person when I got there. When I first walked in I was not greeted so I told one of the technicians what I wanted. I was told to pick a color and take a seat. I only waited about 3 minutes before I was directed to a table by a someone. The woman who did my nails was very friendly and started a conversation with me right away. I got a refill with gel polish. I took off a star off because I felt like she was a bit scattered and she was a bit rough when filing my nails. Absolutely awful. I have given this place one too many chances. This will be my last time going. I considered writing this Yelp review in the past, but didn't. I really tried to give Kay's nails a chance. Good luck getting dip on your nails with a color to match your toes. Colors are limited anyway. When I went in yesterday, she tried rushing the process to the point where she kept messing up my nails. I didn't get the color I asked for or the matte finish. She forgot. Also, I left with my nails looking like a mess. I had to go home and get nail polish remover to clean them up. Too expensive for poor service. read more

BAD!!!! Girl who did my eyebrows didn't brush them, she rushed through, I had to ask her to cut them and do the lotion. Guy who did my pedicure didn't file my toenails. Got a Gel manicure, not cleaned up nicely at all. The edges are sloppy. There was no wait, and no one waiting behind me. The entire process to remove my old gel and apply this new gel took 30-40 mins. Not sure why she was rushing and I will not be back. I just moved to the are and thought that I would try the local salon. It was the worst. I arrived on time and the tech who was working on me switched me to another tech because one of their "regulars" was complaining that her tech had not arrived. The person that she sent me to did not know how to shape nails and seemed bothered that I did not want dip done. I asked for chrome and she put it on with her fingers instead of a pad so the color was uneven. She then coated it with some heavy crap that dried bumpy. She cut my natural nails too short as well. this is a place that that doesn't seem to care about quality work and must also have clients that don't know any better. My friend and I came here after brunch at a local restaurant. We didn't have an appointment but were able to be helped right away on a Saturday morning for a pedicure. The service was comparable to other local nail salons I've visited, nothing too exciting but nothing bad either. Several of the customers seem to be regulars. There were ample nail polish colors to choose from and it was very clean inside. One helpful hint: if you pay in cash, it is cheaper! Kay's nails is my new go to! They are very clean and friendly. Prices are fair and I love that you can make appointments. I like to sit with Q. She's fast and always gets my nails just how I like it. Gel dip powder has literally saved my nails. Also they do great pedicures. My only take away is that they are not too skilled at designs but I tend to stick to solid colors so it's not really a problem for me. read more

I spent a few months away from Kay's because I noticed the techs each showed a little less effort than when I began going. I went today for the first time in a while and had the worst experience. They lady who did my nails did them nothing like the reference picture, a lot of my nails were left lumpy and way too crooked. When I commented, she seemed to get offended and I instantly felt like I should keep my opinion on my own nails to myself. Update: I waited two days to post my original review as to make sure I wasn't just upset with the techs attitude but my nails are so ugly. They're crooked, they are lifting and they are so bulky. Used a money mailer coupon for a gel manicure and pedicure. The lady oh took care of me, Ryanna, was amazing. Fantastic foot and leg massage and fun gel manicure complete with daisy design. She really took her time even though they were mobbed and did a thorough job. They really know how to get people in and out without making folks feel like they wait forever or are rushed. Made an appointment for a mani pedi, first time here. The whole time I felt super rushed. The tech that was doing my nails actually TOLD me that he was rushing so he could free up the table he was at cause it wasn't his & there wasn't enough tables... at the end I'm super disappointed with how my nails turned out. They just look sloppy & not how I wanted them. Pedicure was the fastest one ive ever had. I asked if they had a similar color polish cause I wanted gel & he didn't even look to see if they did (because he was rushing so bad) which is super annoying because I wasn't even a walk in, I made an appointment the day before to avoid this. I would give zero if I could. My sisters and I all had appointments and two of three of us were helped right away. I waited almost 30 minutes until someone came over to the chair. My sister had someone start on her and then without saying anything just started cleaning up and then went over to her appointment to help someone else. My sister sat there for 15 minutes without anyone saying anything. No one apologized or explained the situation. They're pretending they don't speak English to get out of it and have zero responsibility for serving their customers. RUDE read more

I was in the salon on Sunday morning 4/28 and witnessed one of the male technicians YELLING at his client who was a young girl. It appeared as if he wasn't doing what she asked, I'm guessing a miscommunication. When she asked him politely to stop he began to loudly verbally abuse her. I just moved to thcollingswood area so I was looking for a new nail salon, my first experience at kays was Okay. The price seemed off for a refill and pedicure not to mention they were less than friendly but I took inconderation that it was a new salon. My second experience was less than okay the women were rude once again and when it came tom to pay for another refill and pedicure they had tried charging me 32 dollars more than it should have been, I questioned it and the girl apologized for her Mistake and corrected the payment. I tried one more time for a refill and eyebrow, this was my last time. They did have a full house but I waited for 15 minutes before getting seated and mind you two women who walked in before me were taken care of before me but then the girl couldn't do a refill so I sat and waited once again. Now at least 10 more minutes have passed another women who just walked in is being attended to and I'm still waiting. Even the women next to me have me a look like she was annoyed for me. At this point it has been over 25 minutes that I'm not waiting, 3 women who walked in after me are being taken care of and the women who sits in the front tells me it'll be along wait for me so I walked out. I have been getting my nails done for 12 years and this is by far the worse salon when it comes to customer service. I will Never go back. read more

I went here the day before a formal event just to get a standard manicure with my sister. Although both of our manicures went really fast, hers turned out much better than mine. My nails looked kind of sloppy, had those annoying bubbles in the polish and started chipping the next day. I'm giving it 3 stars because I wasn't happy with how my manicure turned out, but the place was really clean, friendly service, and like I said, my sister's nails looked great. read more

I used to go to Kay's when they were located in Haddonfield. They were, by far, the best nail place around with very fair and decent prices. Since moving to Collingswood, their service and quality have declined. I received three mani/pedis in a row, all by different people, in which I was significantly cut and bleeding at the salon. Many other people I know who used to frequent the salon have complained of low quality service and no longer get their nails done there. I decided after months and months to give them another try - I received the worst pedicure. My old color is visible underneath and around the new color. Parts of my nail on multiple toes are not completely covered. I honestly could have done a better job myself, and that's saying a lot because I am awful at doing my own nails. I'm sorry to say but I will not go back to Kay's again unless they significantly improve the quality of their work. read more
