I was in the area visiting family and decided to give this place a try prior to leaving for vacation. I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. The manicurist I had was Kim. I paid $75 for an extremely disappointing, unacceptable experience. The gel manicure was so rushed and sloppy, I couldn't believe my eyes. She barely took the time and attention to do any steps of a gel manicure properly. She spent less 1 second filing my nails after I asked for them to be round. She globed on 3 coats of polish to hide her terrible work, and barely gave my nails any time to dry under the Uv light. My nails are already bubbling which any experienced manicurist would know would happen. Everything about this experience was rushed and terrible. I paid to relax and enjoy a nice nail experience prior to vacation, and I left feeling like I just wasted almost $100 dollars. I went to the Woodbury Heights location that is located in the strip mall next to the Dollar Tree. My appointment was on Monday 12/08/2025 with Bebe for lashes. Let me start with the obvious fact that Bebe has no business doing lashes. She was awkward, clumsy, messy, and doesn't have any capabilities in making the lashes Look remotely acceptable. I left with hi hopes but what I received was a bacteria infection, chemical burns from the glue, a scratched right cornea and an inflamed left cornea. The reddist eyes I have ever seen, non stop eye tearing, burning, pain and blurred vision. I missed a day of work which was a very special day because it was our holiday celebration with a catered lunch and spending time with coworkers that we don't normally get. When I advised the staff, Michelle, who is the receptionist she referred me to the boss, Mindy, at the other VIP Nails location in the Starbucks shopping center. Neither one apologized or asked if I was ok or showed any concern for what I was experiencing. Mindy just immediately asked that I send her a photo of my eyes and then upon receiving my photo she said I could receive a refund for the lashes, however, I would need to sign a paper showing I had been refunded. I did receive my money back but even then, in person, I received no compassion, no apology at all. Just here is your refund with a weird system and that was it. This is unacceptable and disturbing to say the least. They obviously don't sanitize or care about people beyond the $ sign. I am seriously contemplating reporting this incident to the Health department. I strongly advise to steer far and clear from this dirty, unprofessional establishment!! Btw....I had to rate them with one star for my review to post....otherwise I would have given them the well deserved ZERO stars!! read more

This place sucks. I went I asked for almond or round acrylics and showed what my nails looked like before and was left with short disgusting jelly bean looking nails. I only went in the first place because I had 20% off. Each nail was crooked and I couldn't stand it so I went back the next day to get it fixed told them that they were shorter than I asked for and each nails was crooked. She tried to just file it straight. She failed the nails were still crooked. But I told her that we need to start over they are too short and she charged me for a whole new set. During this new set I was left bleeding from filing and had acrylic spilled all over my Fingers. I had a terrible experience this weekend. After years of going here- I got two very deep cuts on my cuticles. When I got home, I realized there were two minor cuts on other nails too, and I had to tell the tech to stop on a toe as well. I'm hoping I don't get an infection- I'm cleaning daily. This isn't ok. It was busy and I felt as though I was at the train station. I had a gel mani and a pedi and it was SO RUSHED. I will never return. My visit to VIP Nails was made on a total whim. I saw a Yelp friend check in, got into one of those mindless Internet surfing trances, clicked through their website's photo gallery, and found a gorgeous nail design. I couldn't resist and my birthday was the very next day, so it was perfect timing all around. Prior to my manicure here, I last had my nails done for senior prom. Yes. A total of one time in my entire life. Nine years ago. It's safe to say I had no idea what to expect. I am apparently in the minority, because everybody else in there seemed to know the process. I was clueless and needed them to spell each step out: Pick colors, sit down, get up and walk to the sink after they do the file buff thing, switch hands in the UV light machine, etc. So yes, I went with gels. I've heard good and bad things about gels but figured I'd try them for myself. I'm glad I did, but I probably wouldn't again. They were totally gorgeous and my nails/cuticles looked pristine, but I got bored after a week and a half. Once they started to grow out, I started picking away and peeled them all off (sorry!). They did last for nearly three weeks though without losing their luster, so they're ideal for longevity. Gels were $35 plus tip, which I understand is average in the industry. You can apparently get a percentage off by giving them a good review also. I'm not sure when I'll get my nails done again, but I'll certainly keep this quality spot in mind for future services. read more

Service was extremely rushed. I had hard gel on my nails and asked to have them taken off and then just a regular manicure with a regular clear polish on top. The girl used a fake tip to rip off my nails instead of sanding them down all the way. Extremely painful! On top of that, she put gel on my nails when I asked for regular clear polish. I don't get my nails done often so I thought it was some kind of new product for regular polish that would put my hands under the uv light. I've been going here since April of this year. I love this place. It's very clean, spacious and friendly staff. My first time going was a walk in and was seated with one lady and she seemed friendly at first. Throughout the nail experience she got a an attitude about little things of which I dismissed. The price at the end was expensive but justified it because my nails looked good. 2nd time I went, made an appt. with same woman. Same experience. Different price this time but still expensive. SO. My third time, before I went I looked at these reviews for ladies that were recommended. That's how I found MANDY. She is THE NICEST and kindest woman. I have been looking aroud for a good pedicure that doesn't cost me $85. A coworker recommended this place and I figured I'd try it. It was a bit hard to find, a hidden strip mall. Upon first entering I thought the place look just okay, not immaculately clean, but okay. As I sat in the chair I noticed there were areas of the nail salon that could have been cleaned better, but nothing that seemed alarming. During my pedicure towards the end a ROACH crawled right by me, and I pointed it out to the nail tech and she swatted it and then went right back to massaging my legs!!! She touched a ROACH and then touched me. It was so gross. Of course, I expressed my dissatisfaction. If this roach was out and about during the day, they have an infestation. When I got to the register the desk person apologized and said that pest control had came out prior and were coming back that day, that the roaches come in when they have the door open. I had contemplated on not paying and just walking out, but the nail tech did a very good job. I would never ever go back here. My first experience here was great. I went with my sister and two daughters (if your little one wants to get her nails done, they have little chairs for manicures and pedicures equipped with iPads!). It is a big salon and was busy even on a weeknight. I got a regular manicure and pedicure (I don't do gel...) and my sister got a regular pedicure. Her pedicure seemed rushed because there were so many customers; she was not able to fully enjoy her pedicure (it was less than 15 minutes!). I'm not sure what happened there... On the other hand, my manicure and pedicure were excellent! I forgot the nail tech's name who did my manicure and pedicure (meant to write this review awhile ago), but she was incredibly thorough and careful with my nails - from the cuticle cleaning, shaping of my nails, to paint coats. Other nail salons don't do regular manicures as well anymore because it seems they prefer you to do gel, so my manicure usually looks terrible elsewhere - but not here! I had to feed my youngest daughter towards the end of our appointment, so my manicure smudged. Another nail tech (also forgot her name) was more than happy to fix those nails... I'm still in awe because the service was top notch for me. Usually, other nail techs at other salons would make it seem like it was a huge inconvenience, but not her. I recommend this nail salon to anyone in the area or willing to commute an extra 10-15 minutes for a great manicure and pedicure experience. I'll have to convince my sister to go back here again soon and hope that the excellent service continues. read more

I was nervous about trying a new nail salon. I tried this place before for a quick pedicure. The pedicure looked nice however, the lady destroyed my eyebrows. Anyway, I knew I couldn't get my eyebrows done again but I thought I could at least get my toes done again. The hours of operation online and on the door said 10 am until whatever. I thought I'll be one of the first people in there. Wrong!!!! When I arrived for my 10 am appointment there were people all over that place. The lady told me to have a seat. The receptionist flew in a few minutes later and scrambled to get organized. She didn't ask anyone what they were there for or nothing. I walked over and mentioned I had a 10 am appointment. She said okay and told me she would be with me in a minute. She called me back and sat me in a pedicure chair. No water just sit down. I waited another 10-15 minutes and finally a lady came in obviously late for work. She threw her stuff on the floor and put on gloves. I got the Special service. Which was an extra $6. It was nothing special about this service. In addition to the regular pedicure she put a scrub on my legs and wrapped them in a warm wet towel. She then rubbed oil on my legs and that was it. The whole experience was not relaxing. In the end, I spent $48 for a pedicure and gel polish and tip for a mediocre pedicure. I have had more done for a regular pedicure at other places. I asked about the hot stones and I was told that is reserved for the $48 and higher pedicure. What?!?! Anyway I won't be going back. That's pedicure was a joke! The polish was cute though. read more

I only returned the last 2 times because they are located near my house and convenient but now I can say I will NEVER be back because my last visit on Saturday was awful. My pedicure was rushed and my polished chipped the same exact day. It looks like a two year old painted my toes. While getting my lip waxed there were roaches in the waxing room crawling on the wall. I got switched nail techs half way through and wanted dip, I was told it was 38 and when I went to pay it was 48. I also showed her a picture of what I wanted and my nails look nothing like it. I don't live in the area so I can't say how crowded it is on any given day but I would suggest making an appointment. You get a discount after your 5th service so that's a plus. I've been a long time customer but will not be returning. Everytime that I go the wait is ridiculous only then to have them rush on my nails. I thought the whole purpose for "walk in" services was that you didn't have to make an appointment? The place has become filthy dirty. I don't seen anyone wiping anything down. The floors are always dirty. I hate putting my hands in the drying UV lights because I doubt they've been cleaned. Services are expensive.
