This is a good spot for Syrian food in Rhode Island. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior and ambiance feel very Middle Eastern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I picked up the chicken shawarma for lunch. It was a bit on the pricey side but the portion size was generous. I found it interesting that the shawarma was cut into smaller pieces. The garlic sauce was excellent and paired really well with the fries and pickled vegetables. The chicken itself was very flavorful and delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also offer live music at times, which adds to the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, this is a solid place to check out if you are in the neighborhood.

I really really enjoyed their food!! It was bombbb. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It really did have the vibe and feel of the Middle East.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My date and I had the lamb with rice and chicken with rice. They offer Turkish coffee, hookah which I thought was random but kinda nice. I also tried my favorite desert, Kunafa. Delicious! Not super expensive for the quality and amount of food. They have limited parking but there's also plenty of street parking available. Service was quick.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server, Mona, was really nice and accommodating. The food was REALLY good. We got tabouleh, mhamara, chicken shawarma and lamb shawarma and everything was on-point.

My Lebanese friend took me here and this place is the real deal. You could tell by everyone coming in and out. The hummus especially the beet is awesome, Have had hummus everywhere from Egypt to Morocco to Jordan and places in the Mediterranean and the food here brought me back to these places. ....same goes for the Kibbeh, do not miss out on this here....it really was the best I have ever had. All the other mezze plates were awesome. We were a bit adventurous with goat yogurt and some raw beef, which I would not get again but my friends enjoyed.

This place is absolutely, positively delicious and by far the best Middle Eastern Restaurant I've been to in New England. The only time I've had anything comparable is when I was in the Middle East. I ordered the Kaza Maza Mix, which is grilled steak, chicken, and I believe it's Kofta with rice and grilled veggies. The meat was very juicy, lightly seasoned and had a chargrilled flavor. The quality of the meat itself tasted like it was top shelf. I ordered takeout, and the employee who I spoke to in front of the restaurant was very friendly and efficient with my payment as well as retrieving my order from the kitchen. The ambiance had Middle Eastern decor, and it looked like a great place to bring family and friends. I highly recommend this spot,it is outstanding, and I can't wait to try another dish!! oops ever go somewhere so many times that you thought you already shared your experience but then you didn't! [[HIGHLIGHT]]this was the first arab spot i came to in rhode island almost 4 years ago when i made this state my home, and it continues to be a place that transports me from melancholy to a sense of belonging.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]as soon as i walk in, i am met with the scent of grilled mashawi, fruity tobacco, and musk. it feels like i am walking into a family gathering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the servers take good care of us every time, often bringing dips on the house and other items to try. i don't have a personal connection to the owners like that so it makes me feel special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]i love both the hookah and non hookah dining areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] i have tried almost everything on this menu, and nothing has been short of delicious.

Top to bottom: crunchy chips, tuom, Baba Ghanouj, Hummus

As a disclaimer, I am not middle eastern so I can't speak to the authenticity of the food but what I will say is that the flavors are all amazing. But before I get to the food, I'll start with the service and ambiance. The staff are all very friendly, and helpful in helping make decisions. The inside is pretty with tasteful decorations. I did like that they separate the parties smoking hookah from the parties not smoking hookah as a compromise to all guests. I also enjoyed the music they were playing. As an appetizer, they brought out pita bread with sample sizes (about 4-5 tablespoons of each) of baba ghanouj, hummus, and tuom. I have never had baba ghanouj, but I really enjoyed it. The pomegranate seeds on top really helped with contrasting sweet and savory. Before you get deterred from trying it by knowing it's made from eggplant, don't worry, you can't even tell. The hummus was also very good and tasted fresh. My favorite though was the tuom. If you love garlic, you're going to love this cause it has a strong garlic taste, while being creamy. I initially thought it was made with yogurt but it is not. The little crispy chips that came with these were perfect for dipping and added its own texture and flavor. For entrees, we had the chicken shawarma and Kaza maza mix. The shawarma itself was very simple, as it was marinated chicken tucked inside a crispy pita wrap. But despite being simple, it packed a lot of flavor, especially after adding some tuom to it and their shatta (red chili sauce), while eating some of the sides it came with. It was supposed to come with fries but we opted for rice instead. The chicken is very tender and the pita has a crunch with every bite. The Kaza maza mix comes with lamb, beef and chicken. Again, the chicken was excellent--perfectly sized nuggets with great flavor. The beef was excellent. I'm used to kofta being dry or unflavored but this one was the opposite. The lamb was also great. It was on a skewer with some onions, and very tender. The rice was amazing. It has some veggies, with all the right spices. Nothing we had was spicy so don't worry about that if you're not into spicy food. They did have tea near the smoothie bar which helped me digest the food. Someone also came around offering coffee which was very generous. It was only a little bit but it had a unique taste. This restaurant is in a random location but it's always the hole in the walls that have the best food. There is some parking but it's shared among different businesses on the strip so it's a bit different to find depending on the time of day and day of the week. Luckily there is street parking not too far. I would definitely come back and I'm glad I was able to cross this off my food bucket list.

Tried this authentic middle eastern resturant for lunch and it was a treat. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant really brought you to a restaurant in the Middle East. Our server was really kind and attentive. The food itself was quite good. We ordered the Mama Ghannouj, Hummus, Za'atar Pie, and Falafel plate. The ghannouj and hummus were creamy and the olive oil on the ghannouj and hummus was so fresh and flavorful. The za'atar pie was warm and crispy with so much flavor. The falafel plate was okay. The actual falafels were not as flavorful as I hoped and just a tad bit too crispy for my personal liking.

We started with the cold appetizer platter, which was served with fresh bread that was perfect for dipping. The baba ghanouj and tzatziki were especially flavorful and delicious. The hummus was good as well, though it does contain cumin, so keep that in mind if you're not a fan. The platter included one spicy dip, but the staff were very accommodating and happily substituted it with a mixed eggplant salad, which was excellent. For our entrées, we ordered the chicken shish kebab plate and lahmacun. The chicken was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The plate came with rice, a fresh salad with a wonderful pomegranate molasses flavor, and fire-roasted tomatoes and jalapeños. The rice was also very good. The lahmacun was outstanding--served in three pieces, making it perfect for sharing, and accompanied by fresh vegetables including tomatoes, greens, onions, and parsley. For dessert, we enjoyed the Turkish rice pudding and Turkish coffee. The rice pudding was sweet, refreshing, and served cold, exactly as it should be. I've walked by many times before they've been officially open and they're always hard at work prepping everything for the day! When I came in, I was told by the owner that the falafel was a must-try, so naturally I had to get their falafel wrap. Let me tell you - it was some of the best falafel I've ever had! If you're a falafel lover or just looking for a great vegetarian option, this wrap is a must-have! Finally, I cannot end this review without commenting on the incredibly kind staff at Livi's! The owner is so so SO sweet - an extra special treat to accompany the food. The rest of the staff is just as kind and works hard to make sure you love their food! My gyro wrap was coated with tzatziki sauce inside the wrap, with a lot of lettuce and gyro meat not off a skewer (yes, there is a difference). I also bought a chocolate chip cookie, which was massive. Still, it was tasty. The soft drinks were a bit expensive at $7 for a 20 ounce Dr. Pepper - you can get two for one at most gas stations and come out with more change. The staff was nice. Service was fast. In terms of ambiance, it was a typical fast food place with tables and seating.
