My friends and I came here on a weekend where Atwells Ave was closed off so parking was impossible to find. Be prepared to make a few spins around the area if you are coming during a busy time. We did make reservations so we were seated immediately but even without reservations it seemed like we would have been fine since the inside was only about 25% full when we arrived. As a starter, they provide pita bread and olive oil with balsamic. Although simple, it was pretty good. I ordered the seafood opa as an entree. I was not impressed by it. The rice felt a bit bland, or watered down. The salmon was good but it was a bit dry. The shrimp were good but it was a bit annoying that almost all of it was peeled except the tail so a little more work to eat it. The calamari I was not a fan of since it was really chewy and too much taste of the sea. The salad was good. I don't think this meal was worth $30. The inside was a bit dark but the front of the restaurant was open so there was some natural light coming in. We were waiting on one more person for our reservation so maybe that contributed to our wait but it felt like for the first 30 minutes of sitting down we were abandoned by the waiting staff and had to constantly get their attention when we were ready for the next step of our dining experience. read more

We ordered the cheese galleon which was supposed to be fondue style cheese with bread and what they sent out was cold barley melted cheese and ritz crackers. What a great spot in Providence! I enjoyed a big family dinner here recently. We ate SO MUCH FOOD, and sampled so much of the menu. I'm here to say that it was all delicious! I loved the kibbeh varieties (my favorite is the one with herbs) and I especially loved the hummus with ground meat on top. The grilled calamari and shrimp were excellent, as was the seafood salad. The chicken shawarma platter was also great. We shared a bunch of items family style so we got to taste a little bit of everything. Service was great across the board. The owners are so warm and inviting. I could see myself being welcomed with open arms every time I come back here. We didn't partake in the hookah, nor were we here for any of the live entertainment so I can't comment on any of that, but coming from an Armenian who knows and loves Middle Eastern food, this place is the real deal! read more

Pay attention to your bill!! They added a 20% gratuity for a party of 4 people. I understand for a party of 6 or more and I agree with that. I almost gave an additional 20% - it's incredibly dark in there my sister in law saw my mistake and informed me. It was my fault for not paying attention.. but... they should tell you up front. (Dishonest and unethical) I asked for the manager - his response was " some of the people in here don't tip so we add 20% to every bill- the 20% was added after tax too.- how nice of them. Our bill was $360 or something around there The food was good and the service and atmosphere was too... This was my first time there and while sitting at the table we talked about coming back... we will not after this. We happened to chat with one of the valet down the street while waiting for an Uber. We shared our experience. He laughed and said " I got burned like that there too" Anyway - choose another establishment that is more honest. To the owner that comments snarky and agressive on other negative reviews - would love to see what you comment on this. If warranted- I will exercise my first amendment right, hire a police detail and protest your establishment from the public sidewalk in front of your entrance with 5 of my closest friends holding a giant sign that reads. Absolutely fantastic! Food is out of this world. Had the sampler platter and the stuffed grape leaves melt in your mouth. Best hummus I have ever had. The lamb kabob was perfect and well done. Yes I said it 5 stars,if there was an option for more stars it would have been 6.. I called and spoke to the owner to get us a table for 4 people on sunday night at 8:30pm. There was an issue for that time cause they have a big party that starts at 10:30pm. Which meant that we have to eat and leave by 10:30.. I asked if we were to show up at 10:30pm whats the difference? The owner said they have a live lebanese singer at that time and its $60 a person for entry and it includes dinner. My next question was,get us a table for 8:30pm and just charge the $60 a person,cause i told him we didnt want to eat late and also we dont want to leave early either.. He agreed and this is how our night started.... Interior; very small place and its was really intimate. small bar where there are stools to sit. Table one: I would say this was the best table,by the entrance and we got to see the italian festival that was happening that night which was pretty cool. The whole street was closed and it was just one big block party.. Service: our server went above and beyond to get us everything we needed, i would just raise my arm up and he would be there, I must have annoyed him cause we kept him busy!! Food: The $60 a person was well worth every penny, cause all we did was eat, eat and eat. let me explain what we got. Fattosh salad; a very popular simple lebanese salad with lemon,olive oil dressing and crispy pita chips on top. It was a huge plate and we shared it, also hummus, baba ganoosh, pita bread, stuffed meat pies,spinach pies, cheese pies, and fried kibbie balls with stuffed ground beef, all where phenomenal.. They also served us shrimp cocktail, ceviche, fried boneless fish, fries and lebanese foul, which is a great vegan dish, its cooked fava beans,onion,cumin,lemon juice,garlic and top it with olive oil.. It was heavenly. That was all the apps now lets talk about the grilled meats, kafta, boneless chicken served with rice, all sharable and we were full. All this food came a little at a time which made our stay so much better.. I forgot to add the last food item: The raw beef it's called kibinaye. More like a tartar or a tapernade has to be served fresh and it was dynamite! Hookah: after a few glasses of scotch smoking the hookah was so damn good, I got the lemon mint, it was the bomb. To end the night we got served our dessert to share all was lovely. We really got taken care of here, baklava, cheese cake and chocolate mousse Music: live band and a great Lebanese singer sealed the night with good music and most important the company we were with!! I came here on a Friday night and sat at the bar with a friend. Before coming here, I didn't realize it was a hookah lounge but I didn't mind either despite the fact that I don't smoke hookah. The ambience is very dim, almost dark. The bartender was very nice and attentive. She answered all my questions regarding how the dish I wanted would be prepared and even put in special requests for me for how my salmon should be prepared. I ordered the salmon au saffron which was okay. The salmon was tender, juicy, and done medium well as I requested it but the flavor of the food wasn't what I wanted. The salad served with the dish was on the bitter side. The portion was a good size and I barely ate half my food. For drinks, I ordered the ginger pear martini and only had a few sips because it was too strong for me (lightweight here). I would say that if you're in the area and looking for a hookah lounge to come here but as far as the food is concerned, it was just ok for me. read more

Allow me to set the stage for this review. After a long search online for restaurants in the area that have hookah on their menu that were actually still serving it during the pandemic, we stumbled upon Opa. Most other restaurants had large revisions made to their websites or social media stating that they either ceased serving Hookah due to the pandemic and those who still were serving it stated they weren't accepting reservations for it. In comes Opa, when on their website on my iPhone things appeared "business as usual," no updates flashing on the screen that mentioned anything about not serving Hookah. Over to FB, Insta, Twitter I went, still nothing about restrictions on hookah. Next up, a phone call to the restaurant, first two calls, no one picked up. No biggie I thought, they're probably busy. On the third call I spoke with a young lady and after mentioning to her that we had a reservation made and were wondering if hookah was still being served we were met with a polite "yes we are." Having a babysitter for the first time in forever and believing we found a place to have dinner and unwind was so uplifting with everything going on! We showed up to the restaurant where we saw two small tables, enough for two people at each, positioned on either side of the front door on the busy/noisy federal hill sidewalk. No biggie I thought, we had a reservation. Well, imagine our surprise and disappointment when we heard the couple ahead of us learn their reservation was NOT good for hookah, only indoor dining. The couple behind us heard the same thing and funny enough, they were there for the hookah as well. So, after driving 45 minutes to the restaurant, off we went back home scrambling to find a way to salvage our night out. The reservations were made via "open table" where I promptly left a 2 star review which I felt was necessitated due to the restaurant's lack of transparency and failure to communicate adequately that although they are still serving hookah, it's only available first come first served at two small outdoor tables on the sidewalk. Had they done that, hey, no big deal we would've kept up with our restaurant search. Now here's the kicker, whoever is in charge of responding to Opa's reviews on this particular app decided to launch on a crusade on me rather than doing what an establishment should have done, found out what the problem was and how to fix it. I took a screenshot of the ENTIRE CONVERSATION. I've included them below. Please take this into consideration if you are on the fence about supporting this business. There are plenty other local RI establishments that are MUCH better suited for your patronage. Seriously look at the review below mine from Sina. Look at the restaurant's response. We was going to have Italian dinner but it was Sunday evening, every restaurant were packed so we just choose this place because it's is right across from our parking lot. We didn't expect much from this place when we first walked in. I ordered the grill lamb and my fiancé order salmon. They were great portion and yummy. Oh! The belly dance show was amazing and was unexpected. We enjoyed very much. After dinner we had hokka ( Orange mint flavor), we had a great time dinning here. I came here last night for the first time with a rather large group of around 12/13 women to celebrate a friends birthday. Once seated the owner came out with a bottle of champagne, that a friend who was in California had purchased ahead of time in light of missing out on the birthday celebrations. He had the birthday girl help open the bottle and poured us each a glass. We took our time ordering and the waitstaff was amazingly patient with us. We didn't have to wait long for drinks, or apps when we finally ordered them, and all our food came out in a short amount of time and it was all amazing tasting! The waitstaff seriously was above and beyond. They allowed us to have separate checks [granted we asked early in the evening to avoid an end all disaster] and they even didn't mind when we asked to add a meal or apps to different checks to cover our friend for her birthday. The waitress even went out of her way to let us know the gratuity had already been added into our amounts [which I appreciate as sometimes servers don't let you know and you end up double tipping]. The whole experience was amazing. Not once did we feel rushed with our meal or even our post dining chit chat while still in the restaurant. The food was above and beyond amazing..
