Sultan: The lamb was stewed for a long time until incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, with absolutely no gamey taste. Although it's called "sweet lamb", it didn't have a strong sweetness; instead, it had a typical mild, complex flavor of onions, cumin, coriander seeds, and other spices. The Yellow Rice was likely seasoned with turmeric and saffron, making it very flavorful. The basmati rice grains were distinct but not too dry, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The White Garlic Sauce wasn't overpowering; it mainly added a touch of acidity, which, along with the cool, sweet corn, helped to cut through the greasiness. Actually, it was completely different from any other Moroccan lamb stew I've had. It was more like Yemeni Mandi, but with more layers of flavor and a more universally appealing taste. As a fusion dish, how can it not be considered a success? This restaurant offered self-build options, but I was rushing to the World Cup Fan Festival and didn't even have time to look at the menu carefully. The staff quickly recommended dishes and adjusted the ingredients based on my preferences. Excellent service.

She really is a believer of building community and that can be seen in the way that she treats her customers and also is visible by the people walking through the door of her cafe. I have never had such a positive experience in regard to feeling so welcome and so happy while somewhere. My friend Taylor and I chatted with the staff and every customer. What an experience! All of the food and beverages were freshly prepared. Allergies were taken care of along with other dietary restrictions and preferences. They have options for GF, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan and more. WOW! Everything we tried was amazing. It was my first time trying Nigerian food and I was super impressed! Everything was flavorful and unique. I will be back again for sure. This was an experience unlike any other!

The woman working couldn't have been nicer and all of the customers were beyond friendly. For drinks my friend and I tried the Chapman and zobo, both were good on their own but the nice woman working convinced us to mix them together and WOW, highly recommend. We also tried a blueberry latte which was tasty. For food we ordered puff puff, plantain waffle, sardines and eggs, and vegan village rice bowl. We finished it off with a slice of banana bread. Everything was so flavorful and not overly salty and not oily. The puff puff were so light and fluffy! I can't wait to come back and try more things. We got a lot of recommendations from customers coming in... definitely coming back for jollof rice and pepper soup! Side note: there is construction going on in front of this business. Don't let it deter you, there is a lot of street parking nearby and you can park at the bank across the street while the construction is going on!

The bread served alongside them was a little too hard on its own, but it was perfect for dipping into the flavorful broth. The rooftop experience was beautiful. And if you couldn't reserve outdoor seating, don't worry--the inside is just as gorgeous, with a bright, elegant sunroom-like atmosphere. Overall, a beautiful dining experience with great food and ambiance. The service was speedy and the server kept checking in to assure our experience was great.

Mare is described as a Mediterranean-inspired seafood restaurant. It's about a 7 minute drive from downtown Providence with upscale vibes. After riding the elevator up to the restaurant, we checked in with the hostess and were escorted to our table. There, our server Teresa greeted us and told us about the specials and some items she recommended. My wife ordered the Tequila Doli cocktail and Amaretto Apple Cider. I kept it basic with a draft beer. We also ordered deviled eggs because why not? Our drinks and deviled eggs were served promptly, and after a few pics, we dove right in. The deviled eggs tasted great and I ended up ordering another round of them. The cocktails did not disappoint. According to the menu, the Tequila Doli contains Lunazul Blanco Tequila, & Pineapple fermented topped with a Pineapple Slice. The ingredients paired well and the drink left my wife wide-eyed with amazement after the first sip. I also had a sip and thought it tasted great. I also loved it's simple but beautiful presentation with the sliced pineapple sitting atop of the foam. The Apple Cider Amaretto was dangerously delicious due to how sweet and smooth it was. I see myself ordering a few when we return. For the entrees, we went with Teresa's recommendations on the scallops and short ribs. The scallops were served on pumpkin risotto, butternut squash, and topped with stracciatella cheese and pesto. They were seared to perfection and had a soft, buttery texture inside. The pumpkin risotto and butternut squash all worked well and we found the food delightful. The short ribs were the item that stole my heart. They were presented with a nice bark and served over delicious mashed potatoes with a side of fresh green beans. The ribs were cooked perfectly as they were fork-tender, and savory. The green beans were fresh and had a nice "snap" to them. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mare Rooftop. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperative or ideal for outdoor dining and drinks. But as discussed with our server, we're already planning our return in August!
