Summary: Solid food, lots of lettuce. We were looking for shopping so we walked to the end and back and decided on Livi's Pockets for lunch. The menu had a lot of selections which were wraps. My wife got the chicken wrap, I selected the gyros wrap. The chicken wrap (a special) had 4 pieces of avocado with chicken, and a lot of lettuce. My gyro wrap was coated with tzatziki sauce inside the wrap, with a lot of lettuce and gyro meat not off a skewer (yes, there is a difference). I also bought a chocolate chip cookie, which was massive. Still, it was tasty. The soft drinks were a bit expensive at $7 for a 20 ounce Dr. Pepper - you can get two for one at most gas stations and come out with more change. The staff was nice. Service was fast. We ordered the Gyro-Grilled Beef, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions & Tzatziki Sauce and Kofta Kebab-Seasoned Ground Beef, Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Hummus & Tahini Dressing. Oh boy, where do I begin - Livi's Pockets is absolutely delightful!! First off, everything at Livi's is fresh! I've walked by many times before they've been officially open and they're always hard at work prepping everything for the day! It's truly so good to know your food is fresh and not something pre-packaged and opened for customers. When I came in, I was told by the owner that the falafel was a must-try, so naturally I had to get their falafel wrap. Let me tell you - it was some of the best falafel I've ever had! If you're a falafel lover or just looking for a great vegetarian option, this wrap is a must-have! Finally, I cannot end this review without commenting on the incredibly kind staff at Livi's! The owner is so so SO sweet - an extra special treat to accompany the food. The rest of the staff is just as kind and works hard to make sure you love their food! The salad has a perfect blend of crisp veggies, tangy olives, and creamy feta, topped with tender and tasty grilled chicken. I was so eager to eat it I forgot to snap a picture to share! Y'all, how do I put it? Livi's slaps. The homemade pita chips are just fantastic. So good that I have to hide the container on the way home so that I don't finish them and lose valuable room for their fresh sandwiches. They have cashew, pistachio, and walnut baklava that are literally perfect in their crunch and flakiness. There's spinach pie that sings of lemon and dill and is eminently satisfying to pull apart just to see how gorgeously the soft and yeasty pie separates...I could go on. I learned of all of these delights in the service of getting Livi's sandwiches to go. I'd previously always ordered off of Postmates but the exorbitant fees, along with the uncertainty of whether the order would be accepted and placed in time, actually got me in a car today. To get food. I left my apartment when I had other options available at the click of a button to get Livi's. In 2021, that speaks to how good Livi's is. I generally get the falafel and chicken or falafel sandwiches with eggplant added. The falafels are perfectly seasoned and what I call "optimal wrap falafels." Their size is such that you get falafel in every bite. Their grilled chicken is very juicy and flavorful...if I'm feeling healthier, I'd just get a grilled chicken wrap. Not today, Satan. The falafel and eggplant is decadent in how delicious it is but given other things you could be eating that hit that kind of way, it's not too bad in the overall health scheme of things. I don't know what pita they use but it's the softest with the most satisfying pull. Again, that pull! The pandemic has changed Livi's hours but even then, they'd close by 6 on weeknights and be closed on weekends if I remember. Current hours are 11:00 AM-3:00 PM on weekdays but I'd call ahead. This is absolutely worth structuring your lunch break around. If you're looking for the best falafel sandwiches and PITA CHIPS and spinach pie in Providence, look no further. I've only been once. I got a chicken falafel wrap. $12 is a lot for a wrap, so I was hoping it would be good. The 2 chicken tenders in my sandwich were burnt black on the ends and dry. The falafel was dry, and crumbly. Both were taken out of containers and both were room temperature. Even though I was hungry, I ate half the sandwich and threw the other half out. Very rare for me to do. I would not order there again unless they made the meat and falafel fresh. For $12, you certainly deserve a good sandwich. I put up a pic. Here, the veggie burrito included a ton of fresh, seasonal ingredients, like sweet potato and tomato. The mango habanero salsa was HOT but really full of flavor! The portion size was large, definitely on par with Chipotle. Best Babagnoush! So fresh and tasty. ALL of their food is fresh and you can see for yourself as the food is right in front of you in a shielded display area. This is not a fancy place, and the seating area is not set up right now....though you CAN sit down if you ask. This is more of a order and go restaurant with a diverse selection of salad and wrap options. This is more of a lunch order and go type of place. I actually chose a plate of different sides such as the Babagnoush, hummus, tabullah, and grape leaves. This plate combo came with pita bread as well. The owner was sooooooo friendly, and kind. The ONLY drawback is parking is on the street and CAN BE DIFFICULT TO FIND. This could be a turn off if the weather is bad. Be prepared to drive around or walk a little bit. Food and cost is worth it. Remember the food is great, but this is a casual place....not a date out kind of place. read more

In Providence for a conference at the convention center and yelp reviews helped me find Livi's. It was a little difficult to find as it is located inside a building with other shops (mostly clothing) and I entered from the far side of the building where there wasn't signage for Livi's so I walked past it several times before realizing the cafe was inside the building. Glad I didn't give up looking because my falafel wrap was outstanding. It includes 3-4 pieces of freshly fried falafel in a wrap filled with lettuce, cucumbers, tahini and more! The young lady in front of me ordered the hand cut fries which looked amazing. I wasn't super hungry, otherwise I would have ordered the fries for sure. It was a pretty heafty portion of fries right out of the fryer. Maybe next time. My wrap was very filling and only $6.99 plus tax. Very friendly young man at the register who also prepped the wraps and salads in front of you. There was another person who was in charge of the fryer/prep in the back. As with love, it's often difficult to find a restaurant with the total package. Sometimes the places that have the tastiest food know that they're hot stuff and don't feel the need to bend over backwards service-wise. Similarly, there are some family owned joints where the staff is just too cute for words, but you worry for them because sadly their food just isn't that great. Livi's is a perfect example of a restaurant that's simultaneously bodacious and charming. Tucked away at one end of the Arcade in downtown Providence, it's the absolute perfect spot for a quick lunch while working or shopping in the area. I ordered the Livi's Pocket, as my theory is that you usually can't go wrong with a place's signature item. I wasn't disappointed: the eggplant, high quality fresh mozzarella, and red peppers all melded together perfectly in my tasty wrap. At the end of our meal the nice lady behind the counter offered us a free sample of their baklava. That's probably the smartest business move they could make because that stuff is so tasty there's no way you won't buy some to go or on your next visit after experiencing it. It's a welcome addition and clearly, as evidenced by the massive line at lunch time, embraced by down city employees. We need fresh new sustenance! ! My gyro was decent. It was big, but I'm glad because it was $8 so I would've felt gipped if it wasn't. I'm not cheap... I just wish I could find a healthy sandwich for $5 or less downtown but I digress... it tasted ok. Nothing to write to Yiayia about. I also got one grape leaf to try. To be fair each culture makes them different. These were a little greasy to me and they forgot to give me tzaziki which could have offset it? I do want to go back and try the falafel everyone is raving about though!! Hidden gem I must say. I remember passing this place months ago and said hey I should check it out and kind of forgot about it. I decided today to get my partner lunch while he was at work. It's hard to find places around that cater to vegan/vegetarian needs. This place was a success from the minute I walked in. They had three vegetarian options that could be easily made vegan with no cheese. I repeat....three! That's a lot for most places around. I can see how this place can go from 0 to 100 quick. Limited staff, which I get. However, when people pack their on their lunch breaks and order to go I can see it being rough on one employee which I saw today. Maybe I notice more because I'm in the industry but more staff even one more body would make a difference. Couldn't even tell if there was a manager on site. When one guy has a line to himself and doing like 20 to go orders, that's not fun. He was a young gentlemen with a little beard and glasses. Kudos to him for keeping his cool and getting things done with not a lot of help. I ordered the Livi's Pockets and the works. The works- The falafel was amazing with great flavor, with onions, cucumbers, hummus, Israeli salad and tabouli. That's going to be my repeat order. I watched him make my partners Livi's Pocket. A gem in the Arcade building! Hard to find if you are passing by the Weybosset street as it is tucked in the far corner of the arcade building. I got the bowl with chicken,steak and was pleasantly surprised with the taste and the quality of the ingredients. I also happened to try the chicken wrap but the wrap could be more on the thick side to hold up the contents very well. By the time i returned to my work place the wrap was moist and ingredients started falling apart. So i guess the wrap should be consumed sooner before it absorbs the moisture from all the ingredients inside or may be could include an option of pita bread instead of the wrap. But apart from that the food was really good. They have good veggie options as well. I usually prefer East Side Pockets on a regular basis, but Livi's is much closer to my work place and wouldn't mind returning for lunch pick-up's again. read more

I'm totally updating my review of Livi's and I'm totally going to relish it. Livi's, you are so completely and totally 5-stars of delicious, fresh, wonderful, hospitable, friendly goodness that I want to shout it from the rooftops. Simply put, I LOVE LIVI'S!!! Now that they've been open for nearly a year and now that I've been there several times, I have my order down, my timing down and my actual eating down. I am partial to the Falafel Pocket with a few added extras (no charge! Get the tzatziki!!!) and I like to go post-lunch rush so I can chat with the wonderful staff and then have a seat in their little dining area so I can eat it while it's nice and fresh. The ingredients are key. While chatting with one of the owners, George, I learned that since they don't have a ton of storage or refrigeration, everything is prepared fresh that morning -- nothing sits overnight or for days or even weeks. It's all fresh and it certainly taste that way. Also, prior to owning and operating Livi's, this family made pita bread that has been used at the most popular Middle Eastern eating establishments in the area. Interesting, huh? So they certainly know what they're doing and how to do it, which results in stellar food. They've also gotten their portion sizes right. The first time I had a Livi's pocket, it was enormous and I felt like I wasted what could have fed a Third World Country. Now, their very manageable and just the right size for a hungry gal who wants something healthy and relatively quickly. The staff is incredibly friendly, warm and helpful, the space is clean and charming, and the food is wonderful. Like I said, I love Livi's. You will, too. read more

An instant success! Open a week and a line out the door. Livi's has brought back a Mediterranean sandwich shop to downtown! Fresh Pita, great toppings, and many Pockets to choose from, I know I will be here once a week from now on. I ordered the Falafel/Gyro combo pocket. Both the beef gyro meat and the Falafel were delicious. As of right now the line to order the food is a little chaotic and needs to be worked on. I'm sure another week will solve this. Just ate my first lunch from Livi's Pockets and I was totally wow'ed. It's clean, everything looks so fresh and is homemade, and everything I have tasted so far is amazing. Like seriously amazing. Like, why did it take Downtown Providence so long to get a place like this?, amazing. I couldn't decide what to get and asked if they could just make me up a plate, which they gladly did. It had a base of a little lettuce and added some hummus, taziki sauce, cucumber/tomato salad, kalamata olives, banana peppers and some seriously delicious WARM grilled chicken. I have no idea why, but this is the only place I've found in almost 6 years where I can get a salad with WARM grilled chicken on top. I am in love!! And it was good chicken too. Marinated so it's tasty, but not overpowering. Grilled, yet not to the point where it is dried out. When I came back to the office some other gals had gone for lunch they had these homemade pita chips dusted with salt and pepper and oh my word, these things were delicious! Little, golden nuggets of deliciousness. The portions are defnitely sizeable and that may be my biggest challenge - I am going to need to start finding people to share with! It's not a cheap lunch (certainly not expensive either) but it's a fantastic value for what you get particulary when you compare it to what $10 gets you at some other locations. This place will not have a problem staying in business if they continue to put out this same quality food. It will for sure be on my regular rotation!
