The service was slow. We had to track someone down to get a drink refill. We got appetizers, sushi and hibachi. They did not bring soup or salad. The waitress said it's because we didn't sit at the grill. There was nothing in the menu about that. They charged us a dollar extra per entree with no explanation. Drinks were also more than the menu stated. The sushi was not as good as target. We will not be back. read more

They had me and my group waiting for 30 minutes before we finally got seated and even when they seated us we had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes because the waiter forgot to give our ticket to the cooks. Tried this place for lunch, I've been passing this gem for years whenever I was out north, but never visited. I was one of two customers so I was in and out with no issues. I ordered the hibachi chicken lunch special which came with a ginger salad or soup...I opted for the salad. The portions were very generous for a lunch size and the price was amazing under $12.00. My server was very attentive. My hibachi chicken lunch special came with grilled chicken, grilled veggies, and fried rice (no meat) the sauce that everything was cooked in was so good, I also asked for a side of yum yum sauce which was the perfect addition. Didn't even need to use any soy sauce! I'm definitely going to make this a once a week lunch spot for me. Their lunch special is from 11 AM- 2 PM!! read more

Incredible experience. The service was absolutely phenomenal; what a kind and attentive waiter without hovering!! I came at a weird time and it was fairly empty, but NONE of my food was anything except fresh, hot, and delicious. The broccoli didn't have that stale sitting-out-all-day flavor; it was fresh and clean tasting. The filet mignon was worth it and cooked to a perfect medium-rare at my request, and the sauce on the chicken and shrimp was delicious. A VERY generous portion and came with fried rice, soup, and a salad for NO up charge. As I paused to write this review, another waiter/chef came over just to make sure I was okay and we had a very pleasant conversation. We walked in to a pretty dead restaurant. We initially wanted to sit at an Hibachi table - it's covid and we were sat at a table that had 4 other people at it. So we told her we rather not sit literally on top of strangers and she actually got upset and snatched up our menus, tossed em on to table over. I really wanted to leave but decided to see if they would get better. We both ordered hibachi dinners that came with plenty. I was extremely disappointed with the sashimi dinner last night. I ordered $77 of food fir my family which they enjoyed. I ordered tuna and salmon sashimi and the portion was extremely small and not what I'm use to. The sashimi was served in cubes with I piece of ginger. I requested lots of ginger believing my sashimi portions (6 pieces), would be satisfying. I am shocked at the quality, portion, and price($15). I have never seen portions that were cubed like diced potatoes. Hopefully, other customers will get better service. My order was to go. I pray that this was the exception and not the rule for sashimi. I have eaten in the restaurant and the food and service was great! I have attached two photos f what I usually for Sashimi. New Employees should be trained and customers should be contacted to resolve issue for poor food portions and quality. Not a good way to end the year ! :( read more

Our family went here for my 57th birthday dinner, Total of 9 adults and 2 children. The waitress was rude, never have I ever had an experience like this. She took our drink orders, and then our food order, we asked for the sushi menu, never brought us one, and we asked about it, she just ignored us. She never came back to our table, after we found out that a few of us ordered shrimp tempura and after ten minutes, we asked to place another order of egg rolls, and asked about the shrimp tempura, they said they didn't have any....wtf, she couldn't tell us when we initially ordered them. They finally assigned another waitress with us. I don't think I will ever go back to this place....EVER!!!!!! I just don't want to go on about the rest of the dinner. read more

I luuuhhh hibachi! This place doesn't disappoint. I've been here several times for dinner and it's never busy, which is great if you have a big party. Most recently I went with just one other person and we had the chef to ourselves. Seems like every time I come, I get the same chef. The presentation is always the same although I still can't get enough of the 'volcano flames.' I admit I'm a bit childish but that's neither here nor there. I typically get the the combo hibachi meal of Filet & Shrimp, fried rice, & veggies. I love the miso soup but I could do without the salad which is a big disappointment because I love salad. It just tastes.... old. Salt and pepper don't help so don't try it. I try to make sure I have a big appetite when I go but I still end up with a to-go box. It makes for a delicious breakfast the next day so it's cool. Prices are very reasonable. If you order one of the special cocktails(try the Karate Punch), you get to take the mug home. I love ordering Kazan to-go for lunch. They have great options for hibachi, I often get the chicken hibachi. Their portions are good and it's a really cheap lunch, under $10.00. You also get a side salad or soup with your order. I have also tried their sushi, which was really good too. I would suggest ordering YumYum sauce with your hibachi. They are never on a wait and they will have your to-go order ready in 10-15 minutes. read more

Very friendly staff. Sat at sushi bar and watched they freshly cut the sashimi and prepare the food. It was an early lunch so service was extremely fast. Food was delicious! Had edamame and a few different nigiri sushi... tuna, yellowtail, eel, fish eggs and egg. Upon leaving they offered me a to go cup of hot green tea, which was very nice. Tried Kazan for the first time this past Saturday with 3 girlfriends. We had a reservation and were seated as soon as our entire party arrived. The service was very good - they asked for our drink order right away as well as our entrees. I have a selfish allergy. They made sure to cook my food first so that it wasn't exposed to the shellfish on the grill. I ordered a Kazan sunrise - which tasted like a tequila sunrise. It was only $5 and was pretty strong. For my entree, i ordered the steak and chicken. The chef did a few tricks but not as many as other similar spots. Overall it was a good experience. Since COVID, it's not generally packed, which we love. We always get hibachi. Steak and chicken for me, and chicken and shrimp for the wife. Always good/fresh food. This used to be my favorite sushi spot. I used to drive about half an hour to eat here. Then I moved closer. I was excited! So I went in. The quality of the sushi and the service dropped. It is low quality fish. It's stringy and couldn't even chew it. Also I ordered sashimi. I'm trying to stay away from rice. But instead I got the fish over rice. I come here every couple of months but this last visit was the worst. They must be struggling because prices went up, they charge extra for fried rice and they no longer give you the shrimp or mushroom option. They even brought our checks while we were eating without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. They weren't busy. Prices up, less food and subpar service. My review says three star but I would say this place is worth three and a half at least.. I love sushi, have been to pretty much every place in Indy my favorite being quite a drive. This place is one of the closest places to where I live so my wife and I gave it a shot. I had a spicy shrimp roll and shrimp tempura roll both were good. My wife had the vegetable roll, fried rice, and miso soup. All were also fair according to her. If you are looking for sushi in the area this place is not a bad choice at all. The true reason may be Shirly Temples and even Sprite served with cocktail umbrellas to young ladies... My secret hook is hibachi chicken liver available as an appetizer option. Everything is familiar - the slightly tired, but comfy interior and quite a number of hibachi chefs and servers. This is one of the few hibachi places that actually gives you fillet as advertised (too many time have I watched the same piece of meat going on the grill whether you order steak or fillet. Yes, there is a difference even when chopped and covered in sauce! ) Fried rice is a bit salty and drenched in soy sauce. "Deep bench" for sushi and sake selections. A lot can change over 6 (7..?)years! When my girl friends suggested Kazan's for dinner I flat out said no. My less than stellar (waaaay less) experience 6 (or 7) years ago certainly left a bad impression in my mind. But the girls insisted that this was one of the best (and their favorite) hibachis in the city. Not convinced, but out voted on where we were going for dinner, I reluctantly agreed to go. Of course I was secretly coming up with excuses to skip out. But a quick look at Yelp and the (recent) not-so-bad reviews had me curious. The enterior looks pretty much the same except the sushi bar is more open. And the place looks a lot cleaner than I remembered. We were the only patrons and of course alarms were going off in my head. Our waitperson was very pleasant and attentive and our hibachi chef did a wonderful job of entertaining us AND cooking up my friend's orders perfectly. I ordered from the sushi menu and I enjoyed it. Not the best sushi in Indy, but a-ok if you don't want to eat hibachi with your group. I would not mind coming back to try the hibachi menu! read more
