Well, very sad because this place used to be better. This past visit was so plain and boring. Everything was just a bit below average. I didn't even snap any photos due to disappointment. I chose the hibachi chicken meal and the starters it comes with did not make for a happy beginning. I did not enjoy the salad dressing, and the soup tasted like salty dishwater. The hibachi chicken, while served as a HUGE portion, was completely devoid of flavor and color. They give you 2 small shrimp with it and they were chewy and also had no taste. The atmosphere was also boring like the food, with sleepy spa music playing and it was so quiet you felt as if you had to whisper. Overall, probably won't be back. read more

Cute, quiet place next to Kroger. Went for lunch and it wasn't busy, food didn't take long to come out. The onion soup was great with the crispy onions and mushrooms adding more flavor. The teriyaki steak was cooked perfect for me (medium) and was very tender! Fried rice had a lot of flavor as well. Fast service. The hibachi area is fun with spacious seating and talented chefs. Hibachi looked great but wanted to try the sushi. It was delicious. Got the Eel avocado roll and the fantastic roll. We had shopping to do so we chose Tomo because it is close to Kroger We were the first guest to enter and were greeted by a young Chinese staff member She was very bubbly and double checked our order without placing it We order two nigiri with shrimp and 4 tuna nigiri. Tomo is fine, but it is definitely different when you are served food from the back instead of being at a hibachi table. We sat at regular table because hibachi tables were booked. We could get the same meals for the most part but I could tell they cooked the food ahead of time and wait for people to order. My meat and vegetables were just luke warm and my rice was actually on the cold side. Our waiter was very nice. Previously we were at a hibachi table where the food is cooked in front of you, and it was good. Suggestion - if going - make a reservation and make sure it's for a hibachi table. We've ordered take-out via delivery service from Tomo twice now. We've been very pleased with the taste, quality, and timeliness both times. For our most recent order, we opted for the chicken hibachi dinner, chicken yaki udon noodles and ahi tower entree. All were packaged nicely and tasted delicious! I ordered Chirashi for the first time. They used old rice probably in the refrigerated over night. It was dried out and very small amount of rice for that price. Fish were so so, all ordinary items. No expensive piece at all like salmon roe or sea shell for the decoration of top of chicrashi. Not authentic Japanese sushi at all. My husband liked Hibachi chicken. I have gotten Tomo to-go and delivered through Door Dash multiple times, because of Covid blah. Tomo is always spot on with the order accuracy and always takes care of the special modifications, which are appreciated with delivery! I would suggest the lunch hibachi because it is about half of the price but the portion sizes make the dinner hibachi worth it as well! I love that the meals come with soup and salad and two pieces of shrimp. Tomo is one of our go to meals when ordering out and I can't wait until we can enjoy it at the hibachi grill again soon! read more

I usually get a Mango Lobster roll and Dragon roll , and rainbow roll (to share of course). All the sushi is presented well- even when you carry out. The rolls are chunky and satisfying, w/ big pieces of fish and crunchy cucumber if you get sashimi (no rice). Need a date spot? Bring him/her here. The Fall Creek location is the smaller of the two Tomo restaurants- no big hibachi rooms sectioned off- but the vibe is similar with the dim lights, dark table tops, swanky feel and neon lights. This place is the bomb. I got take from here for dinner and wasn't really expecting much. Just thought it was another habachi, boy was I wrong. I had gotten something other than steak(what I usually go for at habachi) and had the spicy chicken teriyaki. It was so good and flavorful. Wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but taste made up for it. I love the veggies it came with, especially the baby corn. The salad and soup were also good. I found this place from my friend who highly recommended it. He said the yum yum sauce was good so that's all that really mattered (am I right) anyway. It was cozy lovely decorated Japanese restaurant in a strip mall. I was greeted and helped right away. Service was absolutely perfect!!!! Very polite and quick. I got a spicy crab roll. Wow!! So good!! I know it's a simple sushi roll but it tasted very fresh!! I ordered hibachi chicken and was a little disappointed. Now I will say my favorite Japanese restaurant is Benihana and it's because I love their garlic butter they use to cook with, so maybe I'm biased in that aspect, but I felt the chicken here was very bland. I was trying to dump yum yum sauce on it all for some flavor. The food again did taste fresh and you got a good amount for your money. Husband and I decided to check out this new place this evening without the kids. In lieu of sushi or hibachi (which are both on the menu) we chose to order one plate of vegetable soba noodles and one plate of shrimp Udon noodles. Both came with choice of soup or salad. And a bottomless glass of green tea was only $1. Our bill was $28. We both comment that the portions were just right for our orders, not to much and not too little. Service was excellent, and the restaurant itself was incredibly neat and clean. In the time we were here, they seemed to do quite a bit of take out service as well judging by the foot traffic in and out. We'll definitely throw Tomo into our regular rotation. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Tomo!!! Beautiful presentation, great price, friendly staff, and food that makes me want to go get more now! Tyler and I wandered in here for a mid afternoon pick me up snack. The restaurant is decorated nicely with all new seating. We were seated quickly and our waitress was extremely attentive. After perusing the menu, which ranged in prices for sushi from $4-$15, we settled on the mini-roll ($5) and the shrimp tempura roll ($5.65) both without avocado. We forgot to order the shrimp tempura without avocado and our waitress came to check with us to see if we wanted it on there or not. This is something that rarely happens at sushi places and made us feel that the employees at Tomo really care about their customers! The mini roll was standard fair but the shrimp tempura was the shrimp tempura of my dreams. First off the pieces in the roll were huge!!! The roll was filled with two pieces of shrimp and tons of cucumber and lettuce. It was honestly the perfect little meal! We will definitely be back and will probably become regulars at this place. The weather is changing, I wasn't feeling well.......my local wonton soup go-to was slacking. My local neighborhood place was closed......so I started door dashing to see where I could find a good broth based soup. I didn't want the wontons......or veggies......just broth really. I have a friend who has been raving about this place for years so I finally decided to try it. The price was so good that I purchased 5 clear soups. I figured if it wasn't flavored, I'd just add a little this and make it work. Baby, let me tell you that this was the best broth that I could have purchased.....and the price made it even better! There was quite a bit of ginger that gave it the perfect spice. I got dumpling soup also which was good, but it was fully of onions which could have made the broth sweeter. My husband loved it.
