The lady that helped was with a fob key was AWESOME. My fob key was messing up badly. I told her what was going on, she listened intently and started my key right away. Within 10 minutes, she knew what was going on, had a lan to fix it AND program it. Within 20 minutes I had a new fob key and she fixed the old one! Very happy with her and the service. read more

Rude service, attitude. I go in to get a key fixed that they made, I had no issue with it not working as that is somewhat common, and to get a few others made. I was probably going to spend $50 in their store. The "heavy" gray man gives me attitude because I didn't bring the vehicle that the key did not work in. I let the first slide but he was on thin ice of me walking out. Then the other guy, who is polite, the good looking one, wanted to help and try to get it fixed. But the rude man goes off again saying "we can't just keep cutting keys". I then quickly told them to give me all my stuff back and I walked out. I guess they don't need my money or future visits. By far the best locksmith in town! I took my car here with a big and complicated problem - the key for the car wouldn't lock the trunk. Leo, the technician, was able to identify the problem within minutes. Leo and his wife spent hours making a new key. They were so kind and patient through the process, including staying after hours to work on it! When the job was done, Leo informed me he had misquoted me, but would still stick to the quote! What an honest business man! My brand new keys (they gave me two in case I lost one, WOW) work perfectly thanks to Leo and his wife! Called two other places and asked if they could cut a blank key for my 2012 Honda Accord. The two other places said they would charge me $95 per key just to cut it! I have two chips already programmed to go into the two blank keys/bezels. The total cost would of set me back $190 just to cut two blank keys from other key-smiths. I came to KC Locksmithing and they listened to me, I told them I had purchased the blank keys and I had the chips all I needed was to cut the key. They cut both keys and tested them out, bam they both work perfectly. The other shops said they had to program the keys and this and that, I'm not gullible so I kept searching. Didn't end up using them and went with another company, which I regret, because they had excellent phone service and outlined their prices very well over the phone. I will definitely use them next time I have troubles with locks. Their after hours charge is 95 and is normally 40 during their regular work hours. 10.50 per hour of work and 20 dollars to drill a hole. I really regret not using this company. The owner ordered a new key fob for me. A month later (since I hadn't heard back) I visited and was told it was on "backorder". Three additional months later (last week) I again visited and was told the owner was out on service calls. I left my phone number but did not receive a call back. Today I called and was put on hold for 15+ minutes- enough time to drive to the store, to find a sign saying he was again on service calls. When I tried to get his attention before being put on hold for the third time, he told me that there were 10 people ahead of me and refused to take my call. I hope his business is really doing that well because he won't be getting mine. I would give a minus score if it were possible. read more

I called KC Locksmithing to repair a 20-year-old front door deadbolt and door knob set on my tract home here in Vacaville. The lock set came with the house, which I bought new, and I have never replaced/had the lock set repaired before - until it simply stopped working. Couldn't turn the key in the deadbolt lock, couldn't open the front door (luckily I have other ways to exit & enter my home). I called and KC Locksmith sent out a very courteous and professional gentleman who repaired the unit so it works like a charm. The repair cost much less than I would have spent to replace the doorknob/deadbolt unit and have it installed, and the whole shebang works great now. Plus, I didn't have to replace the keys I have on file with my pet-sitter. Excellent, professional, highly competent service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this local business. read more

Locked car keys in trunk and could not open trunk with handle by driver's seat. Had valet key to drive to Toyota dealership where they said it would cost $230 to get a replacement (could not make a dummy master key with no programming for some reason). Went to KC Locksmithing instead and despite being busy, were able to help me quickly and only cost $25 to make a key to open the trunk. Good service and dependable local business. read more

I had trouble trying to install a lockset on our front door and it was getting late in the afternoon with the threat of no locked door overnight. I called KC and they said Darren would be over here shortly. Sure enough, he arrived in about 10 minutes or so and went to work. He had to widen a deadbolt tube and it took a couple hours. But he did a great job, then charged me a very fair price for the work, including the short notice, and was on his way. My wife and I are very happy with the work and fast response of KC Locksmithing and would recommend them to anyone with a lock problem. read more

Just went here to get some keys made for a file cabinet in my work van. When you come in the door they have this fancy recording that will welcome you and let you know they will be with you shortly. Pretty snazzy as I couldn't see the guy at first, as I was mesmerized by the glorious collection of keys on the wall. It's kind of amazing in it's own way when you think that there is a gazillion kinds of keys out there. This place is old school cool. Anyway in the hot sweltering sun, the kind old gentleman sat in my van and tried to pull out the drawer to no avail. He was however able to remove the lock cylinder after 10 minutes or so. He asked me to come back in an hour and it would be $25. I came back in 1.5 hours and sure enough it was ready. This time the old chap was accompanied by a handsome young man (I am getting old to be talking like this) who reinstalled my lock and tested it to make sure it worked on both drawers. I tried the key and it worked just fine. Great, prompt service by a local business at a fair cost. They have all kinds of fancy designs for house keys as well... Might have to get me one of those next time! I highly recommend your patronage to this place for all your locksmith needs. :) read more

I bought a utility truck for my business, but they did have the circular keys for the utility bed. We took the lock to another locksmith, they had them for three days and told us they where trying to make the keys. Needless to say we were not happy. Had to have a new key made for my son's Mazda Miata. KC helped me find the most cost-effective way to deal with it (use my free AAA towing to tow car to shop - saved me about $100!) My dear fiance misplaced the keys to our vehicle, which also had a gas cap key on the same ring. I took the gas cap key to 2 other places here in town and they were unable to duplicate the key. For the vehicle key, I called the auto dealership and they said that it would be $30 for a replacement key. That was quite high, so I went to KC Locksmithing to see if they could make another gas cap key and also asked if they could make a vehicle key for me. Thankfully, they were able to make both, so I had them make TWO sets just in case we get into this situation of misplacing keys again, 4 keys for under $14, MUCH cheaper than only getting one copy of one key I needed through the auto dealership. The gas cap key they duplicated fit into our gas cap better than the horrible key provided with the gas cap when we purchased it. Also, the worker that made my key also came out to my car with me to make sure they worked. Very friendly and excellent service, I am glad to keep my business local and will go to them for all of my key and lock needs. Thank you so much for your help! read more
