Glad I used KCD! They were responsive and had the most reasonable pricing on simple electricity needs. I needed 3 pendant lights and 1 ceiling fan. My house is a new build so all the wiring is there, you literally just need to assemble the fan and hang it, and same goes with pendant lights. It's super simple and my husband usually does it but he just wanted to pay someone to get it over with. Others were charging a leg and an arm and KCD was most comparable to our old electrician pricing (he was busy so couldn't use him either). Mark came and did everything in about 2 hours. The man I spoke to sounded like an older man so I assumed I would be getting an experienced professional. Instead they sent a young guy named Mark with only 2 years experience but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. He was supposed to install a new security camera on the front of the house and replace a sprinkler timer in the backyard. He used a large hole saw on the fascia board on the front of house, leaving exposed chewed up wood. And he broke 2 roof tiles. In the backyard he cut the pipe that had the wiring for the old sprinkler timer making the pipe down lower and then installed the new sprinkler timer 2 feet lower than the old timer, making it only 4 feet above the ground. I'm only 5 feet 3 inches tall and I have to bend down to use the timer. I'm 72 and have a bad back so that's a huge problem. Worst experience I've ever had with someone doing work at my home. 12/11/2025 In response to Rick/owner's response: The statement about the sprinkler timer wiring is a lie! The new sprinkler timer is a plug-in which doesn't use any wiring and is plugged into an existing outlet. About the damage to our front wood fascia board: The hole saw was larger than the space he used it at. Common sense should have dictated a different installation procedure. Mark called Rick and told him about breaking the roof tiles when it happened. I was standing outside and heard the call. AND MARK DID NOT INSTALL A CHANDELIER FOR US. He said it would be an additional job and additional cost. The employee did not use good common sense. He did not ask me if it was ok to make changes to my electrical wiring. He did not tell me that he would be cutting a large hole in my house wood fascia board. The owner was told about his employee breaking our roof tiles when it happened and yet he did not call me to apologize or offer to have them replaced, as he should have. There has been irreparable damage done to my house in 2 places and there is nothing they could say or do to change that. They can't fix it, nor would I want them to. And I paid $500 for this horrible mess. read more
