Called HB electric to see if they could replace my smoke detectors and Carbon Dioxide detector. I told them I needed One wired and four non-wired. They asked if they could call back in a few minutes with a price for the job. A few minutes later I got the call with a quote which I thought was a reasonable so I request a appointment. I was told several time were available for the next day. I asked if I could check back the next day after appointments I had made with other people.. They said I could call back and they would try to get some out that same day. I called back and they said they would have someone out as soon as they can. The technician came out, and had the detectors I requested. A he looked at the detectors he found there were wired detectors not the kind I had requested. I expected to have to make another appointment but the technician said he could be back in 30 minutes with the right ones. He was back in 30 minutes and had them installed with 20 minutes. I scheduled an electric inspection due to flickering lights and some of my equipment failing at work. They conducted a thorough inspection that revealed a larger issue that had been plaguing my business since opening in 2019. I would routinely have to replace equipment due to failing or what I thought was faulty parts. My business was inoperable when they came out for the service call. In the service call they thoroughly tested outlets and the breaker box, making repairs as necessary. Then they found there was an issue with the electric supply. SoCal Edison got involved per HB electric's instructions and found an issue in the meter box that only the utility company had access to. SoCal Edison said they couldn't fix it. HB electric went above and beyond by not only conducting a thorough inspection with repairs which revealed the issue but they also fixed the larger issue in the meter box and have saved my business in its busiest time of year. They provide great value, residential or commercial. Highly recommend these guys for all your electrical needs. Not every company would do what they did. Thank you Josh and Matt! read more

We had power go out in our office and to the refrigerator on a Friday early after noon. I put out a yelp request for electricians and HB Electric was able to come out the same day within an hour of my request. Joshua went above and beyond to attempt to figure out what was wrong. He came back on Monday to run a new line for us and to out the room and fridge on different breakers. They were not the cheapest for consultation but they seemed to be in the ballpark of what others were saying they would charge. They had continued communication about scheduling and quotes. For the last couple of months it seemed our home was haunted. Dedicated circuits for lights would suddenly dim and come back to full brightness as if a dimmer switch was being used. Our microwave sounded like it wasn't at full power, our home theater's Monster Power Center would shut down abruptly due to voltage surges. Because SCE was upgrading their service equipment in the area for several weeks, we did not call an electrician to troubleshoot our issues though I had researched who I would call to see if they were willing to if the problems persisited. When SCE was finished in our neighborhood and our issues only worsened, I reached out to Matthew, the owner of HB Electric via Yelp Messaging. His response was in a timely manner and we were able to schedule a service call during the March rainstorms. The electrician who was dispatched to our home was a really cool guy named Josh. My wife advised me Josh arrived promptly at our designated appointment time of 0800 and was already troubleshooting outside (where our circuit panel is located) in the rain when I arrived home from work. I spoke with Josh and he was very pleasant and professional despite being visibly cold from the crappy weather. Josh ascertained a few issues with our AC's incorrect wiring size which surprised me since that was the original wiring completed by the sub who the homebuilder used. My wife and I are the original owners of this home before it was even built, so it kinda pissed me off that this incorrect wiring passed any formal building inspection. Despite this issues being corrected, the problem of the voltage spiking and dropping continued. Josh tried a multiple tests with different plugs, appliances, and finally the service main to the house. After he consulted with Matthew, they both believed that the problem was somewhere within the service to our house meter from the street by SCE. Josh was at our home for approximately four hours, including a parts run. The pricing was fair for what was done to troubleshoot and repair/replace the incorrect AC wiring, and add another breaker to create a separate circuit for the microwave as well. I did ask for an approximate pricing for a kitchen area CFL replacement project to which Matthew responded. We also have several other home improvement projects which will require a competent and reasonably priced electrician. We will definitely be reaching out to HB Electric for all our electrical repair/installation needs. Josh if your are reading this: SCE came out the next day (March 30) and advised me that the wiring at the street box was loose and was tightened up. You and Matthew was correct in thinking where the problem was! read more
