wow!! fresh donuts at a reasonable price. the lady who helped us was kind and helpful with what to choose. the store was clean and the cases were easy to see through. we got half a dozen w/ 2 coffees and it came out to 23$ which is a reasonable price! will be coming back!!

    Yummy!

My absolute favorite spot for iced coffee and blueberry donuts. The ladies are always friendly and nice when I come in.

A dozen, with 1 extra and 2 extra donut holes!!

My family always got donuts from here, either after grocery shopping at Superior or just on a whim. I recently started to come here on my own for a dozen and the owner (I presume), a sweet older woman leaves me extra surprise donuts or donut holes with my dozen. You always get the best from local businesses, never from the two chain donut/breakfast shops going down 17th Street. If you're looking for really good donuts and quality care, support this local business!! And leave a tip, they deserve it.

Clean, clean, clean! Been looking for a mom and pop donut shop that is clean and has delicious donuts and this is it. They have all of the old school donuts that doesn't leave that greasy aftertaste that a lot of donuts leave me with.

Thank you so much for saving us in a donut emergency! You came to save the day with the perfect donuts to complete our A donut wall. Thank you!

Excellent donuts. Friendly service. Coffee is good. Never seen a cinnamon old fashioned before- absolutely awesome! I would assume the other cinnamon crumb donuts are just as good. I live a good old fashioned with the crisp edges. Good buttermilk donut. Cake donut is light, not heavy or dense. Frosting is tasty but a little sweet.

Came to this area for breakfast at the next-to diner, both having similar hours (only open Th -…read moreSun, early morning to early afternoon). Ordered a sampling of their wares, and all were excellent. My wife looks for articles and stories about businesses with a Filipino angle, and showed me a NBCLA story about 61hundred bakery. Since we were going to be in the area anyway, decided to stop-in on a Friday morning soon after it opened. There was continuously a line snaking outside, with a few people allowed inside at a time. Once inside, it moves fast with a person grabbing each item as you asked for it and putting it on a tray. The cashier then counts the items on the tray, and takes your payment. By the time we tried to buy bakery items, the blue masa sourdough was gone. However, we were able to buy some other items to try: Classic Sourdough ($12) - excellent. Softened European butter seemed to be made just to go with this bread. It wasn't overly sour or too airy. I could see a group of 4 having a very enjoyable dinner with just this bread, a brick of hard cheese, some jambon iberico, and a bottle (or two) of a good red wine. There didn't seem to be an option to have it sliced. Sourdough Focaccia Dolce ($9), Pan de Sal ($8), Pain au Chocolat ($6). All really good, though not as good a value as the above. I've never really been too impressed with Pan de Sal before, but this version was very good: slightly sweet with a bit of pull and chewiness. The chocolate croissant was beautiful, with naturally occurring cross laminated strip clearly indicating the effort to produce the many layers of dough/butter that takes so much time. To top it off, we asked and received a small container of sour dough starter. Not all bakeries are kind enough to provide when asked. Here, they were more than gracious to provide it to us after a brief wait. And it's definitely alive...the starter was practically crawling out of the sealed container as we drove back home.

I love everything else about…read moreCream Pan, but honestly, the line to select your pastry and the checkout is so UN-USER-FRIENDLY. The self service, pre-made lunch bentos, sandos and sushi area is fine, but once you need assistance from a worker, it starts getting ridic. How so? You speak to whomever is attempting to assist you OVER and UNDER a twenty-four year old counter area that holds the pastries and/or through a tiny hole in the cabinets. You can hardly make eye contact with the person, because all the pastry is in between where you are standing and where they are standing. Some people are tall, some short, but regardless, there is NO WAY to have a conversation with them. They are trying to see what exactly you are possibly pointing to in the case, but as noted, you're talking thru a case of pastry. This is also true at the Fountain Valley location, where they only have a very small counter to check out with many people standing in line trying to have someone collect their order from the back. Maybe also ask WHY there is never any KINAKO donuts? I was there at 11 am and I got THE LAST ONE! If these are so popular, why don't you make enough to sell throughout the day? Every other time I've been here, you were already SOLD OUT! SMH HAS ANYONE HERE SEEN THE SELF SERVICE process at 85 degrees? All their pastry is individually wrapped and you calmly walk through the SELF SERVICE pastry area with a tray and tongs to help yourself. If you'd like to pass the person in front of you, it's easy and doable because there is plenty of room and it doesn't make anyone feel like you are taking "cuts". Once you get to the end, the cashier totals up your tray and puts it in a bag or box for you. Done & Done. Let me reiterate that your pastry and food are all above par and I know you've been in business since 2002 and let me commend you for 24 years of service, but it's time to CHANGE IT UP to a more user friendly process. It's not appealing to anyone in this busy day and age that there is a line out the door, ONLY BECAUSE THE PROCESS INSIDE NEEDS HELP! It's also more sanitary that the pastry and breads are wrapped ahead of time as I saw a fly inside the case today. Ugh.

But I can definitely comment on the price and taste. He picked up a 1/4 sheet cake for my mom's birthday for $40, and it was absolutely worth it. I was introduced to this delightfully beautiful cake from my neighbor and I recently came to order it for my own kid's birthday. It was an absolutely hit with my kid & family members! The small size ($40) can easily feed 8-10 people. It's loaded with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and layered with a thin sponge cake, cream, and puff pastry. I love the crispy, crunchy texture and the not-so-sweet cake and creamy whipped cream. Just note this fruit cake is the most popular cake they make. This is what they're known for. Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.
