The good - Wide variety of donuts, croissants, and sandwiches - Drive through available - Indoor and small outdoor seating The bad - Crazy busy early morning especially mornings I have been a customer for over 20 years. But my doc warms me to stop eating too many carbs so this is a once a month treat these days. Service is generally good if you come inside. But though the drive through you might get a little impatient with a person ahead unsure what 2 dozen varieties of donuts and a ordering sandwiches. That's why I usually drive/walk in. Parking lot is a little unusual and crowded at times. If you've never been here and want to drive through, you will need to enter from Newport Blvd. or cut through Walgreens Parking lot. Don't be surprised if there is a long line of cars parked along the curb of Old Irvine Avenue. Starbucks next door has two lines getting out of that place. From about 6:30 - 9 Am is sometimes very crowded. This is the only donut shop in town that has my two favorites - red velvet and French cruller. Have never had a stale donut, but I'm not a huge fan of their croissants. Sadly I've had most of their varieties, including the huge apple fritter and maple bars which are good if you can handle 600 or so calories. This is an old building with some tables inside and small eating area outside. I like that all their donuts are made on premises. Yes, most shops cook their own except Dunkin that has theirs made off premises and trucked in. Here's hoping they're around for another 20 years. read more

This is my fav spot in Tustin for donuts. Always a huge selection of old school and fun creations alike, plus good drip coffee and great breakfast sandwiches. I love their glazed twist donuts, maple bars, Oreo cookie raised donuts and the bacon, egg, ham and cheese bagel. Service is fast and friendly and has a locally owned vibe. The parking situation is interesting with only a handful of spots but people move relatively quickly in and out so there's usually at least one spot open. I went to purchase six donuts and a breakfast sandwich. It was a busy day and a treat for the kiddos and a quick but to eat for me. I was starving but could not finish it. The bagel was overly greasy and very bland from the bagel the cheese and eggs. The greasiness was too much and so I ended up just eating the inside so not to waste the food. The feedback I got on the old fashion donut it was greasy. Maybe an off day but all of the seven donuts and this sandwich were 24. Really nice that they have a drive thru there. read more

I live 5 minutes from DK's Donuts and figured I would finally give this place a try! I visited on a Saturday @10am and the parking lot was a bit compact. On the bright side, I like that you have the option of ordering via drive-thru or in-person. I ordered an egg, ham, & cheese croissant paired with a medium iced mocha latte. One of my favorite spots to get donuts in the OC area. It's a fairly small stand in between streets and there is very limited parking available. They have a fairly large selection of donuts, bagels, and hot food items available. My favorite things to order are the blueberry and red velvet donuts. They also sometimes have ube donuts, but they usually only make them on weekends. We happened to be there at a time when the blueberry donuts had just been made and they were still warm, so it was a very delicious experience. They are able to help each person very quickly and while you're inside you can see them making the donuts behind the display cases. There's both inside and outside seating available and it's a good go to stop if you're looking for a sweet treat in the morning. read more

The OG of SoCal donut shops! I watched a documentary on the SoCal donut revolution in the 70s, and DK and other small mom and pop donut shops exploded. I decided to try it and it's awesome. The apple fritter is like it used to be, large, sweet glaze, tender inside, and chunks of apples. Many shop have shrunk their apple fritters The cronut was all the craze, but still so tasty. Have done take-out from here several times. This has been our neighborhood donut store for many years. The owner is friendly (but always busy), and their wait staff rotates a lot - but are usually friendly. The store can get real busy in the morning (particularly on a weekend day). (Be sure to enter the store from the right door - which is the start of the line) I'm a big fan of their chocolate glazed. The dough is more yeast-based and softer. I like their sugar donut as well. But the kids really love all the novelty cake donuts - which they have in abundance. I've also had their breakfast sandwiches as well - their freshly-made egg, cheese, and bacon on a bagel is delicious! I do regret that their prices have jumped so much. Not sure why. And their coffee isn't as tasty as I would like, but others seem to like it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I love sitting outside, catching up with friends. They're open so early in the morning there's no doubt they'll be open if you're interested. They are in this tiny island between streets, and the place next door has changed a million times yet they never do. They have giant cases of classic cake bagels, along with smoothies and coffee. We ordered a dozen and they go through the case asking you which bagel you want as you pick and choose your different bagels. The old fashioned is probably the best since it has these crunchy and cake sides to it, but my favorite is the sprinkles - I think the different colored sprinkle donuts all taste the same so if you get orange or pink - I think that's just food coloring?? Be warned, this is not the famous DK's donuts in Santa Monica, so if you want to order the letter donuts don't go to their website. This is another donut shop with the same name and similar font in its sign. I called them to make an order for the letter donuts a little over 24 hours in advance. I was able to specify the message, flavor, icing color, and sprinkle color. Pickup was quick, easy, and straightforward. The donuts are very good probably best in OC. However, to actually get to the line to order donuts (inside or drive-thru), you have to navigate a nightmare parking lot. To the owners: - No one cares that Starbucks opened next door and made the problem worse. Have your employees take orders outside like in n out etc and don't let your customers wait until the end just to ORDER in their car at the drive-through - Change the parking lot configuration to at least make it safer. Cars are just driving off and some peeling off in frustration. - You're losing business not conforming to the times. At least on Sat/Sun mornings, ramp up staffing and have staff outside taking orders in a friendly manner, you just pay and get your donuts at the drive-thru. Not rocket science read more

The parking is a little dicey and small but it would be hard to do anything about that based on the location. So be prepared to park on the street or something if they are really busy. This seems to be a chain because there are many in socal. Because of this, I was not expecting much. I wanted their red velvet oreo donut but the guy who took my order had no idea. He said they didn't have it even though it was on their menu in the store... I ended up getting a blue sprinkle donut. It was very mid. It was too sweet and had no flavor besides that of the oil it was fried in. It was drenched in it. I couldn't finish it. An old man who works there was very kind though and gave us a coffee for free.
