I love donuts. I am so picky. They are so fresh. I loved the not only the donuts but sandwich options. This is a great place in donut culture. Don't miss it.
Not gonna lie, I went here because the line to Krispy Kreme was waaaay too long and I couldn't have made a better decision. This place was awesome the staff were super friendly, the donuts were absolutely delicious my only regret is that I didn't buy milk from them to make the experience even better. For such a small ma and pa shop I was expecting their prices to be a higher like maybe 2.50 per donut, but their prices are surprisingly fair. I didn't pay more than 2 bucks for any of the donuts I ordered. I'll definitely be making this place a regular spot for me to visit and I can't wait to go again.
I came out to get some delicious Vietnamese coffee, and when I saw the donuts, I simply couldn't resist. Thank you, Johnny! Your service was delightful and truly amazing.
Came here to purchase a dozen donuts for my daughter's teachers as well as grab a few for us! There were a few people in front and behind us at 8:30 am on a Friday. The woman who greeted us wasn't exactly the friendliest but did seem to be short and in a hurry, likely due to the line. I said I wanted a dozen and she rattled off which ones were included in the basic and that anything else would be extra. I should've just pointed out what I wanted and paid extra for it because the box I ended up with was so basic and boring. I also felt very rushed. My daughter picked a cake donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles and I had to clarify a couple times that it wasn't the chocolate one. I also got 3 apple fritters for our family to share since they're our favorite. It was $15 for the dozen and $9 for the 4 extra. I didn't realize there was an additional discount for purchasing 6 or more which I would have done. My daughter and I sat outside at a table and enjoyed our donuts. She ate all the frosting and sprinkles off the top as usual and I ate one of the apple fritters. It was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside just like you want from a good fritter. The only downside was I didn't feel like there were very many apples in mine at all. When my husband opened his up at home, it seemed to have more, so maybe mine was an outlier. Overall good experience and tasty donuts. Next time I'll just get the donuts I want rather than worry about staying within the pricing of the regular box.
One of my fav place to get donuts and I adore the nutella donut eventhough like today they only had one left but I got the one and argued with my friend who will get the Nutella one and ended up to get one bite of each one...Lol...their donuts are fresh and no matter which one you get, you'll love it. Dont forget to get their milk chocolate!!! It's big yes for me. The ambiance is outside sitting but its very close by street so i always pick them up...Customer service is always great! They are fast and some of the workers already know me when they see me i already have my Nutella donut and milk chocolate ready!!!!! There is a small parking and most of them there is no place to park your car so cross fingers to get lucky to be able find a parking spot! Update: Nutella Donuts each $4.50 Delicious milk chocolate each $3.00 They are so goooooooooddddddff!!!!!
Everyone knows how incredibly hard ordering donuts can be--especially from a donut shop with indoor seating. Even Harvard educated JD Vance, the current VP of The USA, struggled to talk to the staff, identify 12 donuts he liked out of the countless options, and stand normally at a Holt's Sweet Shop in Georgia. Fortunately for all of us on the west coast, DK's has made some improvements on the original indoor donut shop concept: First major improvement DK's made is to delete the indoor space. No one can embarrass themselves inside a donut shop with no interior. Second improvement DK's made: a bell by the order window can be used to alert the staff in the shop. No DK's customer ever has to order anything until they are utterly ready. The days of pointing at the donuts behind the glass, making meaningless small talk to stall, or asking the staff to just pick donuts out are over Last improvement DK's made to the donut model: the staff is kept to a minimum in general, and the small order window keeps the interactions one to one. One of best and brightest among us seemed to be thrown off by the presence of multiple staff at that Georgia donut shop. At DK's only one face on either side of the small window, please. All of the above improvements saved me from the horrific fate the VP endured. The lack of an indoor space kept me out of DK's, the order bell/ringer gave me time to think, and once I rang the bell, I only had to pay attention to one staff member. I successfully ordered a chocolate bar without incident. The staff member slid the donut out of the window in a nice, waxy bag. I left that DK's without doing or saying anything so laughably foolish that it went viral or became a subreddit. Thank you DK's for saving us all from ourselves with your considerate business layout & tasty donuts.
I'm always up to try a doughnut shop i haven't been to. I ordered a chocolate iced, and the poop doughnut. Both the doughnuts were tasty. The poop doughnut was especially good. I would return since they offer some doughnuts that other places don't.
Daughter chose the emoji poop doughnut! Lol it was funny looking with eyes. The custard chocolate was spot on. Perfect balance of sweetness, custardy goodness, DK seems to consistently provide delicious donuts! This location had a really cool outside window spot. One could see the donuts through the glass, & you don't have to go inside a store, because there's like a walk up window. Very fun to use this. Service, fast and convenient.
Who doesn't love donuts?! It's notoriously bad for us but it's so satisfyingly gooood. A donut is so much more than I thinks! I have the fondest memories of coming here since I was in elementary school! My mom would take my brother and I here early in the morning to pick up a dozen variety of donuts in their signature pink box. So fresh, so delish! Now we can get donuts during anytime of the day (during their working hours)! Love grabbing some of our classic favs: donut holes, glazed old fashion, sugar donuts and maple bars! They got cronuts but I haven't yet tried but will one of these upcoming visits. Other than the sweet stuff we do like their savory as well - especially the breakfast croissants. The staff has been very courteous and helpful. Parking spots are kind of limited in this tiny lil run-down plaza. But if you don't go during the busy times you'll be ok! I didn't even know DK stood for Donut King until I recently watched The Donut King documentary (an immigrant story with a twist) on Netflix. it gave us quite an insight into an overlooked Cambodian community and the touching story of Ted Ngoy's journey of becoming the Donut King. I was surprised to know that I grew up where he started the business here in Orange/Tustin!! Oh, and I don't want to spoil it if you haven't watched it. But I will say the documentary has an excellent moral teaching about the importance of contentment and not falling for temptation. It is a powerful film that is certainly worth the 1.5 hour investment of time.

There are donut shops, and then there are places that make you stop mid-bite and wonder why you ever settled for less. This little walk-up spot is one of those places! The setup is simple; walk up to the window, place your order, and try not to get distracted by the display case packed with donuts that look like they belong in a bakery competition. The employees inside were ready to answer any questions and worked diligently to get orders processed. There are a handful of outdoor tables if you want to enjoy your treats there, but be warned that it can get busy in the morning. After one visit here it's easy to understand why. What really sets them apart is their willingness to get creative. They have the classics, but the adventurous specialty donuts are where the magic happens. I tried the Girl Scout inspired Samoa donut, and it absolutely delivered. A soft, pillowy donut with a rich chocolate-coated bottom, topped with a generous layer of caramel and coconut. The flavors were balanced deliciously. The chocolate added depth, the caramel brought just enough buttery sweetness, and the coconut gave it texture and a slightly nutty finish. Best of all, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Going back for this one soon! If coconut is not your thing, but you enjoy chocolate and whip cream I recommend the whipped cream stuffed chocolate Long John. The chocolate icing had a nice cocoa flavor without being overly sweet, while the whipped cream filling was light, airy, and pleasantly smooth. What really stood out though was the donut itself because it was soft, fluffy, and fresh. The freshness was obvious from the first bite. The donut had that perfect texture--light and airy inside while still substantial enough to hold all of those toppings. It managed to feel indulgent without becoming heavy. Even the atmosphere here adds to the experience. Standing outside with a fresh donut and coffee in hand while watching the steady stream of customers come and go gives you the feeling that you've discovered a local favorite rather than a chain trying to imitate one. If you're the type who usually grabs a plain glazed donut and moves on, this is the place that might convince you to branch out. Between the creative flavors, fresh ingredients, and consistently delicious execution, it's easy to see why people line up in the morning. Didn't get a donut but the breakfast sandwich was great. They have a wide variety and a little something for everybody. From donuts, to bagels, breakfast sandwiches and classic drinks it all looked good. Will be back to try more! read more

I needed some cute donuts for our tball opening day for the kids. I messaged DK donuts and the quoted me a price and said they would be ready when I needed them for Saturday morning (I think I messaged them on a wed). When I arrived the place was packed busy, but only took a few minutes once I got to the front where my donuts were waiting. The donuts were large and very cute, decorated just how I had asked! I'm so happy with how they turned out and I will order from here again. Great donut shop ran by really great people! Thank you DK! read more

We tried only the caramel coconut chocolate donut. It was tasty, but not as fresh as we expected. The ordering is done at a walk-up gate. A decent treat if you're nearby, but not a destination stop. read more

I was inspired to stop in after watching the documentary, The Donut King. They have a wide assortment of classic, premium, and gourmet donuts. If you're looking for some Instagram-worthy treats, they've got fun options like the poop, unicorn, and panda donuts. Our personal favorites were the s'mores donut and the Nutella cronut. We grabbed a half dozen and even got a 5% discount, which was a nice bonus. read more

January 2023, I found myself at El Modena high school for my son's water polo tournament. Having never been there before, I dropped him off for warm-ups, and not wanting to sit around in the cold of the morning, decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. Nothing lost by trying to get my 10,000 steps in early for a day. About halfway into my long rectangular walk around the high school, I passed DK donut, and then went back, knowing that a little bit of fried dough and sugar is actually really good for water polo players. At least that's what I believe. I ordered up his usual: chocolate, old fashion, maple bar, half a dozen donut holes... And I got myself a nice black coffee. Aside: you never know getting coffee at a mom and Pop donut shop. Sometimes it's the most amazing fresh thing you've ever had, other times it tastes, like it has been slowly burning on the carafe heater since the Carter administration. Thankfully, the former was true, and I enjoyed a very nice warm cup of coffee on a chilly winter morning, walk in the mean streets of Orange. The donuts were fresh, served quickly from the outside window, and reasonably priced. Nice people on the other side of the counter, even threw in an extra donut hole or two. Not that the kid needed it, but free is free. If I ever find myself in the area again, I would certainly stop in here for donuts. read more

I've been wanting to try their cronuts, but never make it before they sell out. But today I got lucky and finally got to try them. They were all that plus some! The donut shop is at the end of the strip mall facing Chapman with two windows to order from. The line goes quick and the staff is friendly. I tried the original glazed cronut and a cruffin. Both super flakey and yummy! The cruffin had a custard filling and sugar on the sides. I cut it in half to make it a bit easier to eat - I did the same with the cronut. Every bite was like heaven and oh so good!! These things made my Sunday morning and I'll be back for more! read more

I would say about 2-4 am, I would say the worst time of day is anytime after 6pm
What are Prices?
There are a range. Basic doughnuts are .95. I believe larger things like the apple fritters are $1.50. Specialty doughnuts are $2.50 if I remember correctly.
Are thy open 24hrs everyday?
They are open 24 hours Sunday through Wednesday and for Thursday thru Saturday they close at 2am and open at 4am.
