I happened to stumble upon North Park Auto Sales while out on a walk with my wife and kid. We had been scouring the internet for a unicorn of a 3rd gen 4Runner for months and Doug had one sitting right on his lot! I couldn't believe my eyes, so we stopped in and met Doug and his team. Doug had so many clean Toyotas (and various other brands) and it was pretty awesome to see what he had curated. He was more than happy to let me drive the 4Runner I was after without question or deposits or whatever which I thought was cool of him. We worked out a no pressure deal on the truck and I have to say he's also earned a lifetime customer because of his easy going attitude and more importantly his trust in me as a customer. Trust is a two way street and Doug is as honest as they come for mechanics. Doug even took care of an alignment issue for me free of charge after buying the vehicle. Told him what was wrong, he had one of his tech check my car right away. As a woman I am always intimidated to go to the auto shop cause I know they are trying to rip me off. But Doug was very friendly and knowledgeable, he told me my Knock sensor was the issue. Damn rat bit right thru it. They fixed the issue the next day since I came late afternoon. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. After knowing Duc for 30 years. I took my car in for a basic oil change. His technician overfilled my engine by 2 quarts. I drove it for a month like that and it caused my ignition coil to fail and my car to misfire. I had to have it towed to him and he had the car for 4 days. The only thing he told me is that the car will have smoke but it will "go away". It's been 2 months and the smoke still hasn't gone away. He gave me no explanation other than that it was overfilled by 2 quarts. What he failed to tell me was that it had in effect caused my engine to have lifelong problems. Now it burns through the oil quickly and it semi-stalls on inclines. He has yet to apologize and take responsibility for his technician's negligence. I got it diagnosed at two different mechanics. They effectively said the same thing - the engine needs to be changed or buy a new car. My valve seals are blown and it will continue to have smoke the rest of its life. Do not go to this mechanic, he has technicians who do not know what they're doing and he will lie to you to cover up their mistakes. I doubt any of the technicians are certified or if he checks their work! He only tells the truth when things are done right. He has no accountability for when things go wrong. He continued to lie to me even after I called him on it. read more

I usually don't do reviews or leave feedback here but my experience with this place is nothing a positive. If I there's an option to leave 10+ stars I would. This place was recommended by a good friend. My AC on my Honda Pilot gave out and last summer but the heat this year is just unbearable and had to get it fixed. I was originally going to take it to Honda service but just to diagnose the problem alone is already a lot... Imagine how much more for the parts and labor. Doug (the owner) and his crew was able to quickly diagnose the problem. Sure enough the AC compressor is dead and Doug point out to me the problem and how it supposed to operate. With a quick phone call and pricing he was able to give me the best deal. He also gave a good deal to replace all my break pads. Received a phone call the following day that everything is all done. Doug test drove my truck and gave me a fair quote. He also went above and beyond and diagnosed by vehicle for free. I agreed with his honest maintenance advice because he showed me exactly what needed to be fixed. I'm a DIY person, and he notably let me know what maintenance was not needed. I dropped off my truck last Friday and I was able to pick it up the next day with all the work complete! Which was the new clutch, fixed oil pan leak, new lower ball joints and new outer tie rods. I had a very strong feeling I needed to get a 2nd opinion after being told I needed to replace my transmission and was quoted $2500 by a shop on Adams Ave. I had been at this garage before as last summer they replaced my AC. Well they took their time and really diagnosed the problem. It was not my transmission at all but a bad transaxle control module. It saved me so much money. I highly recommend them. yes my check engine light was on and sam lee referred me to them. After a computer diagnostic I needed 3 major parts and sensors. It was a fair amount which worried me but after losing our last car from smog troubles I SAID OK DO IT. The labor (dropping the gas tank) for the sensors was quite a lot and thought it would be 5 days. What a pleasant surprise to be called the next afternoon and it was close to what was quoted. Aaron met us and had each new box the parts came in with the damaged okd parts in them for us to see!! This really was an honest and great feeling as he showed us exactly what was done, You can trust this place, Then I thought I would have to drive hundreds if miles to get the monitors and sensors all to clear for the smog test and was so happy he had done that for us as well as had the Star certification done to help us out!!! WOW!! He cared and he knew exactly the little electrical sesors were needed and the car drives so much better now, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
