Such a great Mediterranean spot in Lake Forest! Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor. We tried a LOT The kebab combination platter was great for sharing and came with beef, chicken, kofta, rice, hummus, pita, and salad. I also really liked having the lentil soup, Greek salad, tabbouleh, falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, muhammara, and warak enab to balance everything out. The falafel wrap was super filling too! Mosaic Mediterranean is a new Syrian/Lebanese restaurant located in the Foothill Ranch area. They took over the location of another Syrian restaurant, Obaid. Their offerings included appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Hummus ($7) - Unfortunately the hummus was a bit grainy and not very smooth. In terms of taste it was a little bland. It was disappointing to see that they used store bought pita instead of making fresh pita. Muhammara ($7) - Made with red peppers, walnuts and molasses, I felt like the version here was a bit lackluster. The colors didn't seem bright and vibrant like other places I have tried and didn't seem fresh at all. Kebab combination platter ($30) - This came with rice, hummus, salad, beef, chicken and kofta kebabs. The rice didn't have much flavor and the salad was pretty basic. Nothing really stood out with the kebab meats in terms of taste. The kofta and chicken were juicy however. Also the quantity was on the smaller side when I compare to other Arab restaurants in the Little Arabia district of Anaheim. A la carte items: Shrimp a la carte (3 very small pieces - $8) Chicken kabob (4 pieces - $8) Beef kabob (4 pieces - $10) Kofte kabob (1 piece - $10) Chicken shawarma a la carte (6 oz) - ($8) Beef shawarma a la carte (6oz) ($8) Both the shawarma meats seemed to be more like strips of meat stir fried instead of being thinly sliced from a rotisserie. They were on the drier side unfortunately and would definitely pass on them. Overall I felt the food was just ok taste wise. My family and I had the pleasure of trying this new Syrian spot today! It did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in, we were immediately welcomed and showed to our booth by our waiter. For starters we got the Baba Ganoush, Hummus and the Labaneh which all came with slices of Pita included. All three were absolutely delicious and had such a unique taste. Just lovely! For our mains we got the shawarma lunch special, gyro wrap, gyro plate and the chicken kebab lunch special. This was our first time ever trying Syrian food and the seasonings, the aromas and the textures of the food were extremely delightful to the tastebuds. It was a refreshing change up from the usual Mediterranean cuisines we eat. This meal felt and tasted like you were eating in someone's home, cooking with love. Each one of us couldn't stop our "ooo's" and "aaaa's" while devouring our meals. The meats are juicy, tender and well marinated. The rice was my favorite. Very tasty. And our starters tasted like they're made completely from scratch (they are!) *chefs kiss* We ended our meal with an orange blossom dessert with a cream filling and a baklava. Both were not too sweet (which I love) and again, were delicious. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who is an avid lover of Syrian food or wants to try something different from their usual craves. This restaurant is now in my top 5 eats. Food is very good here. It hits the spot when you are craving Mediterranean. My personal favorites are the chicken kebabs and the toum (garlic sauce) and the hummus, which all taste very authentic. Chicken is soft, juicy and flavorful. My normally picky eater toddler loves the chicken here and is the only chicken she will eat. Pricing is reasonable. I enjoyed a most delicious array of authentic mediterranean Syrian/Lebanese cuisine last night at Mosaic grill. The grilled chicken was moist and so very flavorful. Portions were big enough for 2 easily. The gyro which was lamb and beef was thinly sliced and perfectly seasoned. So, on to the rice....how good can rice be? The rice was outstanding and had a mild flavor that accented the proteins so well. And the hummus and tsziki sauce was very nice. New place that took over a few other Mediterranean places. This location always seems to struggle as foot hill ranch doesn't seem to get a lot of transient foodies. Food was really good. Fresh and hit all the right buttons. We had the combo plate, chicken kabob, beef shawarma, the babaganoosh and a few side dishes. Everything was great. Ambiance is ok. It's a casual place nothing fancy. Price is a little high (22$+ per person for dinner). And that is why it's more like 4.5 starts. Hopefully people give this place a try and it lasts. Not many good places to eat in the area. People need to stop going to crappy chain restaurants and eat at places like this. read more

The pictures clearly portray the issue with the food. But the owner deserves a personal shout out. I opened my wrap when I got home. Saw that it had one piece of meat in it. Knew it was a mistake. No big deal. It can be corrected. Called the restaurant to inform them and the kind lady who answered the phone was apologetic and offered to make a new one. Simple solution. I accepted and she had her cook get started so it would be ready when I arrived. I drove back to the restaurant only to have the manager tell me that the wrap was made correctly and there was no error. I felt there may have been a bit of a communication issue so I, repeatedly, asked him to wait for the lady but he insisted on taking care of it himself and even brushed her off when she came over. He confirmed he understood what I was saying and that his answer was the same. He said they put 4 pieces of meat in each wrap and mine looked fine. Four pieces of meat is not remotely close to enough but I didn't even get that. I showed him the picture of what they advertise vs what they give. He was fine with it. Put his foot down and asked if I wanted a refund. I didn't need to drive there. He could have given me a refund over the phone... BUT he wanted his wrap back. Ghetto. read more

Amazing new spot in lake Forest located right next to Rahma Center. Came for the breakfast for Eid and everything blew me away. The fatteh was incredible, probably the best I've had. The owner said they make all their dough in house for their pastries too which were freshly baked and really tasty. Highly recommend! read more

Hi there! I feel bad for leaving this review because I really wanted to support this business. But the food and service were so bad. Yesterday, there were only three guests. But it took over 15-20 mins to get the food. My kibbeh was served with a frozen center. And the chicken wrap, while good, was nothing special. Not worth $15. I was told a cook called out, but yikes, I cannot recommend this place. I really hope they get their act together. Would love to try again with better management. read more
