Once, I biked from my house to Sullivan Hardware, and on the way had a nut fall off my bike! Once I got to Sullivan's, the manager went out of his way to make sure I found the correct nut to replace the lost one, and even lent me a few tools to make sure everything was installed safely. I really appreciated his kindness and patience. Great little store. Definitely recommend!

The prices are higher than Lowe's or Home Depot but again (from me); supporting local business is important and something I am willing to spend a bit more for. It is awfully convenient to have this size of store in little ole Pendleton...smaller than a big box but large enough to carry whatever your home improvement needs are. Today I was costing fertilizer and the price was just slightly higher than Home Depot. Good enough for me. There isn't a ton of staff there but the place is never too busy either.

Russell was very helpful. I was looking at gardening boots, but they didn't have my size. Russell called their other store and was able to offer some options. He was engaging and friendly. The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

They have the friendliest staff of any store I have ever been in. Usually when I visit Ace Hardware, I have been sent there by my lovely husband who is in desperate need of some widget that I have no idea what it is. There is always someone ready to greet me right at the door at Tipton Ace Hardware to help me find exactly what I need. A very knowledgeable staff. If they don't have something in stock, they will also look to see if they can order it for you. We have purchased grilles, Christmas Trees, Christmas Lights, paint, and more from this store. From being a small store, they do have quite a large selection. Be sure to sign up for the Ace Rewards program so you will earn coupons back on your purchases.

Really just a random assortment of aging stuff. From strictly a hardware perspective I would be hard pressed to say I would return. I want to support local business but not for the sake of buying old junk at 2015 prices. Some of the price tags were commensurate with 2015 but the merchandise is straight 80s and 90s. It's 2 parts "mom & pop" hardware store (which means the people there actually know how to do stuff) and 1 part retail museum. Need an original Fry Daddy? They got it. Need brand new Corelle dishes with the 1985 pattern? They got it. Never opened. Need a replacement carafe for a 1979 Mr. Coffee? They got it. Need a 1987 Mirro 10inch frying pan? Yep. They charged me $52.00, as opposed to $56.29 that Great Lakes initially charged me (and refunded). They also put a charge of $81.90 on the warranty work order that I apparently wasn't actually expected to pay, and didn't. But why a 45% increase, even on paper? I sent a copy of my original review a week ago to Great Lakes Ace Customer Service on their website. To date, a week later, I have had no response. This tells you everything you need to know about their concept of "customer service." Take your business elsewhere.

I really just stopped in to check out the new merchandise, but ended up filling a cart with plants, bird seed and more. They carry all the major grill brands including Green Egg and Traegar. They carry Stihl, DeWalt and Milwaukee tools. Outside there were a selection of spring plants. I loved the gift area. They carry Justin Patten art featuring Zionsville, the Indiana Universities and the Indy 500. They also carry a number of other Indiana products that make great gifts. They carry a unique mix of hysterical greeting cards (I bought a couple). the staff is friendly and helpful. I had a couple clerks ask if I needed help.
