I get inspired to do home projects when I come here. This store is huge, maybe 2 acres. And FILLED with everything you could possibly need for home improvement. I was pleased to see they were proudly displaying their new Craftsman line - shelves filled with shiny red tools. We were told they would honor the lifetime warranties of old Craftsman products - no receipt necessary. They also carry a store brand that has a life time warranty. This store is always neat and tidy. Appliances, lumber, tools, paints, flooring, plumbing and much much more. In the spring/summer they carry perineal and annuals. They carry lots of great quality brands such as Estwing hammers. We were asked if we needed help finding merchandise by no less than three clerks. Great, friendly service. They also offer installation services if you need. The store has plenty of parking with nice walkways into the store. The facilities are accessible.

We were able to get everything we needed for this project!

Since having our new house built, we are frequently visiting Lowe's for all kinds of things. The store offers a great selection of products, all the way from lawn equipment to home decor! Recently, we purchased a great washer & dryer set, and the delivery date/time was just as promised! The staff in the appliance section is very knowledgeable and very willing to help you find the right fit for you. My one critique for the location is the execution of their site-to-store pickup service. We've used this a few times, and each time it seems to be a little unorganized and puzzling for the staff at the service desk. (Unable to locate the items, issues with using the software for checking out...) I do have to say that the staff at this location has been extremely friendly and helpful! It's also a very clean and tidy location, which is appreciated when trying to find exactly what you're looking for.

Nobody to help when you need it. We always have to walk around and hope we find a red vest, but they are few and far between.

Russell was very helpful. I was looking at gardening boots, but they didn't have my size. Russell called their other store and was able to offer some options. He was engaging and friendly. The store offers an array of grills, power tools, paints and general hardware supplies. The shelves are remarkably well organized and neat. Many shelves were empty as I assume they are preparing for spring inventory. Many items were on clearance including Yetis so there are some great deals. In the entry alcove is a fascinating history of the hardware store's evolution. The history dates back to at least 1889 when the store was located at 110 West Main Street in Carmel. The store has been owned by four families start with O. W. Nutt prior to 1889. Steve White bought the store in 1984 and built the current location on Rangeline Road in 1989. I love that someone took the time to capture the history. There's plenty of parking in their private lot. You can only enter or exit going north in Rangeline, but the roundabouts make going in the right direction easy.

Hedlund's Hardware has to be one of Indy's weirdest little gems. Located in practically the perfect…read morespot on the corner of 62nd and Keystone with a Broad Ripple Avenue address, Hedlund's Hardware looks and feels like a blast from the past precisely because it really is a blast from the past. Established in 1935 by Claude and Mary Hedlund, Hedlund's was at first a General Store but now limits itself to a somewhat broad definition of hardware and a personality that practically defies explanation. I avoided Hedlund's for quite some time. I'm a wheelchair user and Hedlund's Hardware is one of those places that practically screams out "You're going to break me!" as I delicately wheel myself through the aisles (or the ones that are passable, a fact that will change from visit to visit). The truth is that some people will hate a place like Hedlund's. It's a chaotic, eclectic, and seemingly disorganized (It's actually fairly well organized) establishment in a world where we want big box convenience and 19-year-old Tommy pretending he knows everything there is to know about plumbing or house repairs. HINT: Tommy doesn't know. At Hedlund's, though, they do actually know stuff. Hedlund's is not a big box store. In fact, it's not even a particularly big store though it's much bigger than it appears from the outside. Hedlund's is not a Sullivan's Hardware, a nearby behemoth that is also local but is much bigger and more contemporary. Hedlund's is, at least in my view, a bit of a cultural icon. It remains in the Hedlund family and is locally owned. I have no idea if this is the original building, but it's definitely symbolic of the history of the area. As I noted, if you need true accessibility it's not likely to be found here. You can get in the doors (most days) as they're level to the ground. That said, Hedlund's packs stuff in here and aisle passage is hit-and-miss. However, folks are friendly, helpful, and actually knowledgeable here and it's worth it to at least visit the place even if you don't completely fall in love with it. It's a unique space, a unique hardware store, and sort of an outcast right between Lowe's and Sullivan's on Keystone yet it continues to be a beacon of sorts and I'm sure glad it's here.
