Angel was away on business so his daughter was runningring the show. She had me try on each suit and began marking where the alterations were to be made. She never actually wrote them down. There was a charge for the shoulders, a charge for the back, a charge for a sleeve, a charge for the waist, a charge to move a pocket, a charge for the inseam, a charge for a hem. Tit for tat.... When I came back for my fitting, the some of the alterations were done on the incorrect items. I was told I had to pay to alter them as well, despite my protest. When I came back again for a fitting, on one suit jacket, where the Shoulder was corrected, the sleeve was now too short, once again, I can go on and on. She refused to accept responsibility for any errors or miscommunication. There was no reasoning with her. The only response I kept getting was the prices are pre set. RIDICULOUS!!! If I didn't need one of the suits ASAP there would have been war. My final total for three suits was 1200 DOLLARS !!! Had I paid with a credit card this would not have been an issue, my dispute would have taken care of things. However, when I went to give a large deposit which they insisted upon, I asked if they would take cash for a tax discount (a common practice) I was told sure. I was given a 3% discount. I was expecting something in the neighborhood of 10%. After I left I remember there is NO TAX ON Alterations. Once again this very unprofessional, without any business sense, nor customer relations experience sarcastic, know it all would not even consider reasoning. I am very disappointed, with this whole experience, and am considering it i do not get any type of satisfaction, having my attorney bring action against them.

Vihan Custom Tailors was exactly what I was searching for in a custom shop. First and foremost, Joe was super welcoming and gregarious. I explained I needed a tux for an upcoming wedding and outlined my timing. He was helpful and very accommodating. If I had a dollar for every time Joe said "no problem" to any of my requests, it would have paid for the tux! Just by looking at me, he brought me to the rack with my size to get a good fit. The quality of the jackets was immediately noticeable. All of the blazers were stylish. The process was quick and painless. Next, Joe showed me around the store so I could see the rest of their dapper inventory. We added a shirt and a couple accessories and I was on my way. When my tux came in, I met Vihan, the founder and tailor of the shop. During the fitting, I watched a master in action. My body is on the stockier side so I'm always concerned about the fit of suits. Vihan assured me it wouldn't be an issue. After the fitting, I asked Joe if one of the blazers I liked the previous visit could be ready with my tuxedo on short notice for the rehearsal dinner. As usual, Joe's answer was "no problem!" When the tuxedo and blazer came in I couldn't be happier. I love the quality of the tux. It immediately stood out for the premium material and intricate stitching. Vihan & his team did a fantastic job with the alterations, including to my shirt. The tuxedo was form-fitting and not boxy. I was ecstatic with the fit. During the wedding festivities, I was extremely excited about how well the blazer and the tuxedo looked and felt. She has hemmed sleeves on 2 of my coats (pea coat and trench coat) and she has also hemmed a silk gown that I wore for my sister's wedding. Price for the gown hemming was only $30 -- other places I called for a quote said around $50-60, so I thought this was a deal. The price to hem both coats was $50--again, not a bad deal for 2 coats. I also drop off my laundry here to get done by the pound--never came back with missing items. Cost for wash & fold service was about $1/lb. Their dry cleaning is solid too -- manages to get any stains/loose strands fixed before returning back to me. They're always friendly and welcoming upon entering - I highly recommend. Even though I don't live around the corner from this place anymore, I still make the trip up here for special alteration requests or hemming because I trust her work.

A gentleman, whom I refer to as the store manager, translated my requests to the seamstress downstairs. I then returned to the main showroom, and the owner quoted me a price. I picked up the items without the chance to try them on due to scheduling constraints, and later that day, I found the alterations to be unprofessional and not in line with the price I was charged. I was leaving for vacation and could not address it immediately. Upon my return, I showed the store manager my concerns and asked how we could rectify the situation. He advised me to speak with the owner, who was unavailable, and to come back in a week. A week later the owner still wasn't there. The store manager suggested I call the owner, and I asked if he could call him while I was there. He mentioned he doesn't always answer his calls. I said, so why would he answer a call from a number he's not familiar with? In the meantime, I took the two pieces to another tailor to see what could be done to make them wearable. After months of many visits, I reiterated that the work done did not reflect what I paid for and requested a refund. The store manager asked to see the pieces again, I explained that what was done could have been done by me, and he responded, "so why didn't you do it yourself?" I then stated I wanted a refund so I could take them to a proper tailor. He called the seamstress, and they spoke in Spanish about possible fixes. He explained she could complete the additional alterations, and I could pick them up on Thursday, with later delays pushing pickup to Saturday. After four months, the garments are finally wearable.
