This place combines the taste of the Mediterranean that it promises with a local touch. It's a splendid building with a lot of seating, and I got quick service. The ambiance combines a residential atmosphere with pictures of Grecian islands with an occasional touch of Jerimiah was a Bullfrog on the speakers. I got my falafel in pita form, but had other vegetarian options, including pitas based on cheese or mushrooms as well as several salads. I went indulgent though, adding a sliced fried potato which was delicious with just a touch of salt. My sandwich was loaded with onions and tzatziki and was excellent falafel. I finished it very quickly. Also notable was the fact that they had generous hours and were open on Sundays, which none of the other places I bookmarked in Jackson were.

Very nice seating outside and friendly service. The Pita Wraps and Fried Potato were very good! Will be a repeat lunch place for sure!

I spent the night in Jackson, MS on my way from Texas to Georgia. The next day, I searched Yelp for a place to eat, and this place was highly rated. I love gyros, but I expected more of a hole-in-the-wall shack. That...was...not...this...place! This place, this amazing place is a huge house with a wrap around porch. The kind of porch you find at a plantation that can accommodate multiple tables and chairs and plants and people. The inside was just as amazing. There were so many brightly painted rooms, and they were large and spacious and filled with people getting their Sunday brunch. Jackson is not a very big city. It seemed like everyone was here. This is a place to be seen and catch up with friends. The parking lot is large and it was packed with cars, but I was lucky enough to find a spot. I was surprised to see a security vehicle parked in the lot and a security guard on premise near the entrance. I'm not sure what kind of problems they have had in the past, but they seemed prepared to give their guests a hassle-free experience. The businesses and houses in the area all seemed normal and decently maintained. I didn't see anyone panhandling nor were there any tent cities to be found. Perhaps the security on staff prevents that problem from developing. Everyone entered through the main entrance of the house near the fountain and sign out front. The woman at the register was busy closing out customer tabs, but she would stop periodically and offer those of us who entered a menu and invite us to seat ourselves. There were a lot of available tables both inside and out. The spring weather was glorious and the numerous trees and greenery around the building kept the area cool and comfortable, so I opted for a table on the patio. A young man rushing from table to table stopped at mine to take my drink order and was back in a flash even though he was busting his butt to work at least a dozen tables of various group sizes. Service was hurried, but quick and efficient. My gyro was out in a flash. Even though the CDC was no longer recommending masks for those who were vaccinated, all of the staff were wearing masks and signage on the front door still required customers to wear a mask to enter. Once seated, customers did not wear masks. Even though I was vaccinated against COVID, I thought it best to eat outside on the patio and wear my mask until my food was served. Other customers at the restaurant clearly didn't care. It truly felt like the pandemic had never hit here. My gyro was packed with meat, tzatki sauce, onions, and lettuce. Had there not been a paper wrapper around the pita bread, the sandwich would have fallen apart. It was busting at the seams, but managed to stay together with every bite and gentle tear at the wrapper to expose more deliciousness. I didn't have to wait for the waiter, but gladly would have in order to enjoy the relaxed ambiance. Instead, I grabbed my tab and headed to the register at the front to checkout. I even got a refill of sweet iced tea for the road. They were so quick and efficient there. Whether you are in a hurry or not, they will take care of you.

Went to Keifer's today around 4:00pm today and had the gyro cottage fries and Hummus as an appetizer. Was surprisingly entertained by a mouse running around my feet. Paid 23 dollars to have a mouse dancing around my food for fun. I'd say save ur money and wait for the madison location to open. Please get this fixed. Health issue. Eat @ ur own risk.

Never thought I'd find a great gyro place in Jackson MS, but I did! Had a gyro and chicken tortilla soup. I definite must revisit.

From the time I walked in and until I walked out I was treated like family! The Greek Beef Stick Wrap was outstanding. The beef was seasoned perfectly with that classic Mediterranean blend of savory, slightly herby, and deeply flavorful without being overpowering. Every bite was balanced and satisfying, making it both hearty and fresh at the same time. The Spicy Feta Dip was the perfect complement. It had a bold, tanginess keeping things interesting without overwhelming the palate. The homemade pita sealed the deal it was warm, soft, and sturdy enough to scoop generously without falling apart. Overall, this was a flavorful, well-executed meal that felt both comforting and elevated. Definitely something I'd order again.

We like food with a lot of flavor and thus was kinda bland. I got the Pastitsio and there wasn't much meat in it at all. Wife got the chicken parm which again, not much flavor to it. I ate half mine, took the rest in a go box. Yeh Sunday at lunch I pulled it out, added a bunch of stuff and done red pepper flakes, it was much better. It's with a try though just to see if you like it. To bland for our liking

Oh, what a treasure this place is!…read more I am a big fan of Mediterranean food and this place does not disapoint. I had the cold plate with a side of gyro meat in order to try a little bit of everything and boy, I was glad I did. Everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. THIS PLACE IS THE JAM Y'ALL…read more For Jackson, this is about as good as Mediterranean food is going to get. I gave it four stars because well, I lived in New Orleans, and I've tasted better Mediterranean food (Lebanon Cafe, Mona's). That's not to say that this Mediterranean food is not good. It's SO good. Shin e. is right, they do have a grocery section which is nice, unfortunately, Jackson doesn't have a huge need for Middle Eastern groceries, so some of the items may have sat on the shelf for a lil' while. The stuff in the case is solid though. The desserts are for the most part really good. The tiramisu is AWESOME, but I'm not sure that it justifies the $5.99 pricetag. Try a chocolate pecan bar instead, they're really good (but I'm not sure that it's a middle eastern thing) The hummous is SO SO fresh, you can taste the lemon and olive oil. Do yourself a favor and get some to-go for later in the week. Okay so pricing is a little pricy, but in all fairness the portions are pretty huge. The best time to go is for lunch, where you can get lunch plates in the neighborhood of $6-9. Dinner gets a little pricy with plates ranging from $10-$20. I had the kebab which was good, but not the best I've ever had. Then I tried my brother's dish, and realized I made a mistake choosing meat. This place is called Mediterranean Cafe and Fish Grill, and griling fish is a fine art that they have perfected. True, they use frozen fish, but they do a pretty good job at making it palatable. Hell, even more than palatable. I would recommend getting the pasta with fish. The pasta is done in this mediterranean sauce that I'm not familiar with, but it's delicious, and there are also grilled vegetables with it too. DEF. worth the visit. The owner (Elias?) is a very accommodating guy. One last tip, this place is BYOB! Which is amazing! (Except on Sundays). There's a liquor store in the strip, but I'd recommend shopping elsewhere for wine selections.

A review for another time but once I left the glass place I needed comfort food. I love kebab. A friend was married to an Iranian guy and I got hooked on kebab, basmati and warm flatbread. We were headed to the place behind it, but I think they were closed on Mondays. Server was good. No issue there. She was attentive, helpful, and very efficient. The falafel was fantastic! It might have been the best I have ever had. Loved it!! Hummus was great too! I had the Combo plate for lunch. It had gyro meat and the driest chicken I've ever tried to eat. Gyro was pretty crunchy too. It came with more hummus, a salad with a great dressing, and some rice. It was just ok.
