The waterproof insert keeps all my camera gear safe 3
Cheyenne A.

Simply the best! A year ago I reached out to Kekoa Collective inquiring about their STR backpack series over Instagram. I am a traveling videographer and freestyle cliff diver and can never find a backpack that truly "does it all". I immediately fell in love with the STR bag! It's durable, incredibly well designed, comfortable to wear fully loaded for hours AND comes with a waterproof insert for my camera gear - SOLD!! This has been my main carry-on backpack filming in over 10 countries and it still impresses me! I was so stoked on the backpack that I continued to work with Kekoa online through my film and photography business. All of their bags and clothing are top-tier quality and made to last. They are always a pleasure to work with and I was over the top excited when work brought me to their island of Oahu. I have never met a more welcoming, enthusiastic, community-focused brand ever! I went to their storefront for an open lunch and was immediately greeted by the owners and community members. I made so many friends and Jeff and Clifton even spent over an hour teaching me to roll on the Jiu-Jitsu mats. Everyone I talked to had fun stories to share and I literally booked a second flight back to Oahu just to hang out with them all again. This isn't a business, this is a family that also sells top-tier adventure gear and clothing. 1000% if you have the time, just stop by and say hi! I highly recommend dropping in for one of their classes or sessions, I wish I could go all the time! You'll meet amazing people.

Is this the right schedule or should I follow the website???

This is a review for yoga. Walked by this place a few days ago and saw the donation-yoga sign. They have a decent space upstairs so thought I'd come back to check it out a few days later as their website showed a 630p Wednesday class. Showed up 10 minutes early. Friendly attendant let me use the dressing room to change. Went upstairs - empty. Hung out for a few minutes and checked out their prop selection (ample blocks and straps - decent quality) which was nice, still nobody. Went down and looked at the sign ... hmmm ... doesn't show a Wednesday eve class. Checked the website - completely different schedule from the sign. Asked the guy in the store and he didn't know. Said the sign hasn't been update for a while (as demonstrated by not being able to rub off the dates and times) so he said website is probably what to go by. He did try contacting some people but to no avail. The guy was apologetic and offered the space for me to use on my own. Luckily I do enough yoga that I don't get too wound up about a scheduling mixup, but really, if your website has a section dedicated to your yoga classes, please have the right schedule posted

Dewey, Jeff, Clifton, you guys are amazing!!! Keep doing what you're doing, and never stop. It is always our pleasure when we come back to Hawaii to stop by and talk story, train, and just hang out. We love Kekoa's vibe. It's hard to see why anyone would give anything but 5 stars for this place. If they truly knew what you guys stood for, 5 stars isn't enough.

I love everything about this company. They have a decent selection of surf accessories, simple and classy clothing line, a small studio for jiu jitsu and yoga classes, and a couch, coffee table and TV for just lounging around. Their motto is mindful living, and you can see it in every aspect of the company. They recently closed this location and will be re-opening in August in Ward Centre near Best Buy. Will update this review when they re-open!

This review is based solely on my experience with the staff during my visit today…read more I've shopped at Pink Box multiple times in the past and have never had any issues, which is why this experience was disappointing. My mom and I stopped in because she was looking for earrings. She had mentioned before that Pink Box has cute selections at reasonable prices, so we decided to browse. While she was looking at earrings and pointing out styles she liked, I was helping her look through them. For context, I don't even wear earrings since I have large gauges, so I wasn't shopping for myself in that section. Afterward, I moved over to the claw clips and was looking through some butterfly clips to see if they came in matching colors. A sales associate approached us and asked if we needed help. We politely said no thank you and continued browsing. What made us uncomfortable was that after that interaction, the employee remained very close to us and appeared to be watching us the entire time. When we moved to a different area, she followed. Whether intentional or not, it felt as though we were being monitored because she suspected we might steal something. My mom and I both noticed it, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. We are paying customers who have visited this store before and have never given anyone a reason to be suspicious of us. I understand that retail employees have a job to do, but there is a difference between being attentive and making customers feel like they're under surveillance. Unfortunately, because of that experience, we didn't feel welcome during our visit.

It's cool that some of the products are specially distributed through Moni. I was hoping they'd have Snoopy too but none at the moment at least. I was so happy that my husband mentioned this place and we ended up here during our last morning in Honolulu. Definitely worth a stop if you're into kawaii, Japanese goodies and stationery, but also could be worth being aware of which characters are currently featured. A lot of the items, such as their various stickers, are reasonably and fairly priced -- more so than other similar shops. Vivid print quality too. Other items were tad too pricey for me to justify (e.g. $8 for a very tiny thin canvas drawstring bag and other small pouches in the $30+ range).

Shopping in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My mom was on the hunt for Year of the Dragon shirts for my sister in Colorado, my nephew, and my nieces. We went to Walmart, Don Quijote, Dillingham Shirt Outlet, and Maunakea Street in Chinatown. She found shirts at Jessica's Jewelryand Gifts, but she didn't get a shirt for my nephew's girlfriend. In a panic, mom called me to go back to Jessica's. They were sold out. Only XL gray shirts were left. I entered Maunakea Marketplace, where I had dropped her off the other day, but she didn't walk far enough in... to get to YaFangShi Fashion. On the day before Lunar New Year, I saw many shirts of various colors and different designs hanging outside a shop! Inside, the clothes were neatly folded, and the dresses were hanging for better viewing. OMG... It was like t-shirt heaven! The shop was called YaFangShi Fashion. The friendly owner introduced herself and said that her name was Lian and that she's been here for 24 years! I had passed by often... and even bought a lavender-colored Cony umbrella, but didn't know the name of the shop. Looking around, Lian even had dresses, tops, jackets, footwear, accessories, and pants! I got a navy blue, medium-sized Year of the Dragon shirt for my nephew's girlfriend and gave it to mom to give to her on Lunar New Year. Everyone was happy! Yay! Happy Lunar New Year of the Wood Dragon!
