Nice jiu jitsu / surf influenced apparel store. One of the co owners Duke was in the store while i was shopping and he was really nice and hospitable. He even provided us the local recommendations on activities we were planning to do for the rest of our vacation. There was a lot of different clothing options to choose from and was very happy with my purchases. Didn't get to roll on their mats, but next time im in Honolulu, im going to make an attempt to do so. Their new store shares the same parking lot as F45 gym. So it can be missed, but it's right next door to the F45. read more

Simply the best! A year ago I reached out to Kekoa Collective inquiring about their STR backpack series over Instagram. I am a traveling videographer and freestyle cliff diver and can never find a backpack that truly "does it all". I immediately fell in love with the STR bag! I made so many friends and Jeff and Clifton even spent over an hour teaching me to roll on the Jiu-Jitsu mats. Everyone I talked to had fun stories to share and I literally booked a second flight back to Oahu just to hang out with them all again. This isn't a business, this is a family that also sells top-tier adventure gear and clothing. 1000% if you have the time, just stop by and say hi! The aloha spirit is alive and well here. As we walked in we were immediately greeted by the owner who was in the middle of something, and just full on good vibes already. Im really big on staff acknowledging customers, especially with aloha. Little Small talk and he let us do our thing to Look around and pick out some threads. Inside is spacious and well stocked. I like the lifestyle clothes they sell here for a number of reasons, support local, the owners are super nice, the quality and designs are killer, and it fits my style. I surf and train so bingo! Left with 5 shirts some free stickers and the owner Dewey threw in a free shirt for my little boy because he trains too, his words were " i want to give this to him, to encourage training its good for them". This is a review for yoga. Walked by this place a few days ago and saw the donation-yoga sign. They have a decent space upstairs so thought I'd come back to check it out a few days later as their website showed a 630p Wednesday class. Showed up 10 minutes early. Friendly attendant let me use the dressing room to change. Went upstairs - empty. Hung out for a few minutes and checked out their prop selection (ample blocks and straps - decent quality) which was nice, still nobody. Went down and looked at the sign ... hmmm ... doesn't show a Wednesday eve class. Checked the website - completely different schedule from the sign. Asked the guy in the store and he didn't know. Said the sign hasn't been update for a while (as demonstrated by not being able to rub off the dates and times) so he said website is probably what to go by. He did try contacting some people but to no avail. The guy was apologetic and offered the space for me to use on my own. Luckily I do enough yoga that I don't get too wound up about a scheduling mixup, but really, if your website has a section dedicated to your yoga classes, please have the right schedule posted read more

This is by far the best customer service and vibe I've experienced in any retail store. These guys go above and beyond to take care of their customers and treat them like a friend. I was blown away by my experience. I ended chatting with the folks here for a few hours talking about Jiu Jitsu and life in Hawaii. Their gear is high quality and they have great designs. Super sick spot next to Hana Koa. Dewey and Clifton were more than welcoming and they are amazing dudes, they made me feel like we were longtime friends even though I met them for the first time. They will always have my support! Full story, I wanted to start doing Jiu Jitsu but I don't have any friends that practice, so I was looking for recommendations around town for a school to start at. I came across Kekoa so I thought it'd be a good place to swing by and talk story. Dewey greeted me immediately like I was a friend and when I told him I was looking to start doing Jiu Jitsu, he was encouraging me to start and immediately texted me a few schools where I could start at. He went above and beyond, he even offered to take me to one of the places he recommended himself so I wouldn't feel intimidated going on my own. He had to run after that but he encouraged me to text him if I wanted to go to a beginner class with him. I picked up a shirt and I was talking story with Clifton a little bit after that and he was telling me about their open mat. He invited me to come by anytime to either practice or to just cruise and talk story. Even though I was just starting out, he encouraged me to always come by if I wanted to learn something new or practice whatever I was working on. I took my first class later on that night at one of the places they recommended and am now hooked and super stoked. I cannot thank these two enough for being so welcoming and helpful to introduce me to Jiu Jitsu. I love everything about this company. They have a decent selection of surf accessories, simple and classy clothing line, a small studio for jiu jitsu and yoga classes, and a couch, coffee table and TV for just lounging around. Their motto is mindful living, and you can see it in every aspect of the company. They recently closed this location and will be re-opening in August in Ward Centre near Best Buy. The gf and I were on our way to Sedona for some sage when we noticed a storefront with... mats. To a martial artist, mats are a siren's call. Mats are an oasis in a desert, a magical creature that says "Come. Come and do your violent dance. Come and know this, when you are slammed into me you may end up injured, but significantly less injured than if I wasn't here. This is my promise to you." So in we went. Into a warm, inviting store filled with BJJ things and surf things and explore-the-wilderness things. I do not train BJJ or surf or really go outdoors. Though I DID train BJJ for a few months at one point and have a gold no-gi​ medal and a silver gi medal, which proves that winning medals at NAGA at white belt level is not particularly difficult. But I digress. This company is beautiful, Dewey is extraordinary, Archie is just delightful and everyone else we've met there has been great. I purchased my new favorite tank top from there AND we did some muay thai on their mats. It was like West Side Story, bringing striking into a sacred realm of BJJ. This is a neat spot. It's new, and part workout space, part hangout, and part store. I attended a fitmom class here (workout class for preggo ladies) in an air conditioned room near the back. It had a nice view of the harbor/water across the street and it was a great class full of circuits, cardio, and stretching. Depending on the price, I will be back. Didn't see much else of kekoa collective, but noticed they had a loft space too. I wonder how long it will be there before ward warehouse gets demolished. read more

There is no better Hawaiian BJJ vibe than here. The staff is ridiculously friendly and their gear and accessories for jiujitsu are top-notch. They are renowned all over the pacific areas. If I could give 11 out of 5 stars I would. I can honestly say the best customer service experience I have ever had. I was ordered the Everyday Porrada on presale a few months back. Super stoked to receive my order got the email that it was on it's way. A few days after that email I received another from USPS saying it was returned due to invalid address. Pretty bummed I emailed the boys at Kekoa to see if there was anything I could do. Immediately after i hit the send button Jeff emailed me followed shortly by a call from Clifton. Talk about speedy I was amazed during holiday season to get a response that quick. Clifton unsure of what happened with USPS (he was getting an email saying it wasq delivered) with no questions was like "i got you I'm flying over in 2 days and I will hand deliver." Realizing that would land on Christmas day "I was like no way spend time with your family." Clifton hit me up on Christmas day saying he arrived and we could schedule a meet up in the next couple days. A couple hours later he said he was out doing errands and would be no problem to drop off the pack. My girlfriend and I first saw this place back when they were at Ward Warehouse and we recently visited their new location. They have a communal mat space where people can rent it to do yoga, grapple, and etc. They offer free donation based classes in different styles of yoga. The vibes I get from this place are mindfulness and helping out the community. Kekoa Collective does have their own clothing line that they sell in the store a long with some other local brands. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone because of the great customer service and cool vibes. 5 shakas out of 5! read more
