Kellerhaus is a must visit in the Lakes Region! The make your own sundae is excellent here with a wide variety of flavors and toppings. The candy shop is great where you can buy by the pound to your hearts desire. Love the decor and ambiance here. My kids used to marvel at the swinging nutcracker guy for days afterward when they were very young. Fun for all ages. Parking is plenty and the staff is always very friendly. read more

Where do I start! My mom when to Kellerhaus when she was a girl, then I went to Kellerhaus....and hopefully I'll bring my kids to Kellerhaus! This place has been around for ever and is a real gem! The ice cream sundaes with an American Flag to top it off are the best! The cute quaint give shop & candy shop are also fun to see! This is a rare spot, for me a family tradition! In the dining room be sure to check out the old fashioned player piano, apparently it's been there since my mom was a girl! What a neat place! Stellar homemade chocolates, especially the jelly rings. Honestly, one dollar Wednesday is just exploitation. I hope you pay your staff overtime. The lines are long--out the door, winding through your overpriced gift shop. I'm beyond disappointed. Sure, your ice cream is delicious. But really I feel gross--like I just cheated the 2 girls that scooped ice cream ( for my family of 6 ) out of a real job. I have been going to this place for 23 years and it has always been the best place to get ice cream in New Hampshire. Make your own sundaes with all the right toppings, cool water bubbler, PLAYER PIANO, and theres a candy store right below. A little bit off of the Pier, but well worth it. We stopped in during a vacation week for ice cream. We paid for our ice cream then was told they only had 4 odd flavors. None that would be good for a sundae. I asked if they could open a pint of vanilla the answer no. This is unacceptable for an ice cream shoppe. This idea was well take it or leave it so we got our money back and left. read more

We saw Kellerhaus featured on NH Chronicle and we decided to make the trek. There are lots of different rooms with chocolate, gifts and a make your own sundae bar that has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The building is pretty cool too. We find some of the chocolates (milk chocolate and especially the creams) to be too sweet for our taste but the dark chocolate is very good. The sundae bar was fun (you get to put on your own toppings.) I think the thing I liked most was the fact that I feel like I went back in time to the 1940s or 50s. They still make their own candies and ice cream and that's pretty cool. read more

I had no idea that this was a huge gift shop on top of the candy and ice cream! Staff was very helpful, especially when we told them we had never been there before. You can get as many ice cream toppings as you can fit in your bowl and they have a little bit of everything to choose from! Very cute gifts separated by type fill 7 or 8 rooms. And of course, candy by the pound or specialty candy from the counter is all delicious. They also have a Christmas shop all year. read more

Friendly staff, decent ice cream but not a 'must have' while you are in the area. I got a sundae and while my ice cream tasted good the sundae bar was lacking toppings big time which was a huge disappointment. My husband got a milkshake which was massive, rich and good...I'd stop by maybe for a milkshake repeat or simple cone but not worth the sundae bar. read more

Great ice cream, classic. Candy shop is nice except for the 'candy by the pound nazi' who freaked out when a 7 year old put his hand in the candy jar. A sign says to put on plastic gloves. How about a scoop or a pair of tongs? read more

We stopped here on our way home from Funspot. It was prior to tourist season, mid-day on a Sunday, so no crowds to deal with. They have a ton of really cute housewares and very unique gift items. I asked my husband to pick out a small variety of chocolates for us to take home - I was too overwhelmed by all of the choices to make a decision! He made really good choices, several truffles and a few dark & white chocolate turtles. Everything was so fantastic that I told him I would love him to order a small box from here for our anniversary in a few months! We will definitely make a point to stop again when we are in the area. Sundae bar had few choices for toppings. Hot fudge was not hot. Ice cream had no flavor and very few flavors. Should try adding more toppings like crushed oreos, gummy bears, peanut butter sauce, and real bananas instead of fake banana chips. read more

Fantastic ice cream combined with choice of toppings = heaven! I like to get the small (one huge scoop) with Kellerhaus vanilla topped with hot fudge, butterscotch, lots of marshmallow (it's delicious here!), plenty of whipped cream, and some jimmies. After eating we usually wander around and check out the store. Prices tend to be high but we managed to pickup a few xmas ornaments for less than $10 total. read more

I wouldn't say it's a must-do. The ice cream was OK but the MYO bar was over-rated. There were not that many toppings to choose from. One reviewer states there is free coffee but we had to pay for ours when we visited on 7.25.15, and then there was no decaf. So a young man went to make some and then I think he must have gone on break as we didn't see him again. My husband decided to get regular when he was half done with his ice cream. I never did get my coffee and there was no refund on that. Disappointing customer service. The seating room was as expected, loud, excited children. (Have you considered building a back deck off the seating area for diners who want to sit outside?) I did appreciate the water bubbler since I didn't get my coffee and the wash station in the dining area is a nice touch for sticky hands. My sister, her husband, their three kids (8, 8, 10) and I went here while vacationing on Weirs Beach. The line was long, but moved pretty quickly. Tight quarters, however. I love to be able to make my own choices, and make my own sundae, but it was hard for the kids, and hard for us adults to make our own, and make their's too. My niece dropped her ice cream, and when we told them, they said they don't replace dropped ice creams. After a little persuasion, they did finally replace it, but I was completely disappointed. I likely won't go back. For the amount of work, the line and everything else, if I had to wait in line again, pay again, and make another ice cream, everyone else would be finished, or it would have been melted, etc. You get the picture. What a hassel! Oh, and the ice cream was just okay. I had the mint chocolate chip, and handsdown, the Peppermint Stick I got at the walk-up window on the boardwalk was MUCH better. read more

wasn't a big fan of this place. super touristy and kitchy. the ice cream sundae bar is very mediocre and emphasizes quantity over quality - a bunch of low quality ingredients in an "unlimited toppings" bar. the place was super crowded and touristy. go to Dewey's Ice Cream parlor instead for a nice atmosphere and great ice cream! read more
