    Oxtails

We tried a little bit of everything, and it was all good, but the oxtails stole the show. I don't usually go for oxtails, but these I'd come back for again and again. We tried both the smoked and braised, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender, super meaty, and packed with flavor. If you must try anything on the menu make it the oxtails.

The Pitch Sandwich Week Stop #1 BBQ Honey Sriracha Chicken Sandwich That insane crunch and that addictive sauce, this sandwich was firing on all cylinders. This is the definition of a local "mom and pop" neighborhood restaurant located in the Wyandotte area of KCK. Everything here is made to order so be prepared to be patient but, good food takes time to prepare and each item here was made impeccably- no complaints from me chef! The sandwich special wasn't on the menu but, they knew exactly what I was talking about and whipped one up for me and boy, am I glad they did. It was delicious, delectable and definitely worth the wait. Since we were already out a little ways from where we live we decided it was only right to order something else from the menu and Monday had the written special of a Tackle Box so, we went with that. It has a little sample of everything with expertly fried flaky basa and tender plump shrimps as well as, jumbo crispy wings and a pile of french fries. The only thing missing was some sauce/hot sauce but that was easily remedied at home. 1930 Classic Kitchen knows how to fry their fish, let me tell you that! These filets had a seasoned cornmeal batter, classic fish fry mix feels, that adhered to the thick(ish) pieces of basa without issue. The crispy exterior was the perfect opposite to the soft steamy interior. The wings also were cooked fantastically, with succulent light and dark meat still juicy inside the fried crispy coating. A1 on everything coming out of that magical fryer, I sing its praises. Now onto the star of the show, the whole reason we drove here, that glorious and glistening chicken sandwich covered in finger licking good sensational sauce. The chicken breast itself was bigger than the bun, which is always a good sign when it comes to a sandwich. They knew what they were doing when creating this special sauce because it hit all the taste buds. The sweet notes from the honey melded with the slightly spicy tingly sriracha, it was a match made in flavor heaven. The cajun coleslaw was also the right mix of creamy and seasoned, not your average sad slaw and it was obviously delicious piled on top that sandwich, added a cool (temperature wise) crisp crunch.

Just picked up inline order and liked that they bring it out and show you. The smash burger for $13.99 is probably the best deal in the city. It's a double with everything and it's huge.came with seafood steak fries. And also got the basa fish with same fries. It's a great deal and the portions are big. Was out first visit and I promise you it won't be our last .just like the man behind the counter told me. Excellent food. Well done folks well done

We find out The Restaurant KC is open 24 hours only a few days/week. On our way to Olathe, we stopped here. The Biker Bar had just closed next door. The Waitress was very nice and told me to get the French toast. I didn't get the French toast and ordered Pancakes (which were great), my brother did order the FT and it was simply the best! Caramelized perfectly with the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar, just a tad of nutmeg (if any) and copious amounts of vanilla in the custard wash. The Chef who works the 24 hour late nights shifts knows what TF he's doing! There were people coming in at all hours for To Go orders of burgers and other dishes. Sucks I'm 1,800 miles away, because this might be the best breakfast I've ever had! The only thing I would change is the chain smoking that happens next door, that infiltrates the restaurant. That's THE ONLY thing I would change. However, the food is so darn good, might be worth the stinky cigarette smoked clothes for some of these hot cakes, griddle items and the tastiest bacon you've ever had.

The correct order was the cheese burger and curly fries. The fries were not so good but maybe just because it was door dash and not fresh by the time it arrived. Finally ordered the 4 item appetizer the onion rings are amazing! And a huge order. I would definitely go again but actually go to the restaurant this time and not order delivery. Only small complaint would be the hours on google and yelp are wrong. Can the business owner update these?

I ordered the three rib plate, which include included burnt ends, and smoked sausage. I also had mac & cheese and a cornbread muffin as a side. The ribs were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The burnt ends had a good smoke flavor and we're very tender, but we're cold. The sausage was also a bit cold. The mac & cheese was cold and so the consistency was gummy. To be fair, I arrived close to 7 PM. I would come back and try it earlier in the night and would want to try some of the other offerings they have, because you can tell they do a good job with cooking their barbecue

In my experience, this area is…read moretypically overrun by chains and drive-thrus, so I was happy to stumble on this place, attached to NFM. That being said, it didn't all come together as hoped. We were a bit early to the dinner rush with our kids, and the place was empty with some muted TVs hovering around the atmosphere. We started with onion straws which was probably the best thing I had that night. Perfectly seasoned and lightly fried. I got the "Lightweight Platter" with two proteins and since ribs weren't an option, went brisket and chicken. Both were so dry they looked like Thanksgiving turkey once the Christmas lights are up. The edges were especially dry, to the point where I had trouble eating it. The flavor of the brisket was good, the chicken was not full of the smoky flavor one would hope for. To be perfectly honest, this felt like when I get BBQ well outside of Kansas City, not holding up against any of the classics or heavy hitters. My kids chicken tenders were surprisingly delicious (and moist), and made for nice leftovers too. So that was a plus. This ended up being our priciest meal of our little staycation, and unfortunately, one of the most forgettable. I see what they're going for, but until that meat gets raised up to a standard level for the midwest, I can't go much higher than 3 stars.
