    Colorado Benedict with Potatoes
    Allie F.

I was super impressed with this! We came here for a Father's Day breakfast with a large group and everything was great. Our server was awesome at attending to us and refilling coffee, water, etc., and our food came out fast and hot! I ordered the Colorado Benedict and fell in absolute love - I highly recommend if you like Denver omelets! I'm going to have a hard time choosing something else when we come back. We used to come to Eggtc a lot when it was at this location, but we're very happy with the new owners' takeover! If you're looking for a new brunch spot in Shawnee, look no further. From the coffee creations, the delicious seasoned potatoes, and even the fruit bowls, you'll find something here for everyone.

Rize N Shine offers all kinds of breakfast and brunch options. An expanding menu with plenty of sweet and savory options. The menu is ranging from comfort food, healthy options, sandwiches, omelets, and more. I got the early bird sandwich with sliced turkey, avocado, Swiss cheese, spinach, tomatoes, with a hollandaise sauce. They have friendly staff and also a bar if you are looking for an alcoholic beverage.

Wait time was pretty minimal considering it was a late Sunday morning. The hostess took my phone number and said it would be a 10-15 minute wait--if it was, it didn't seem like it. :) Casual dining and the noise level was decent enough to hear my friend across the table. (I was informed this used to be called Eggtc., & that the menu changed slightly). Our waiter, Luis, was awesome! I got the Farmers Friend as an omelette--pretty good--my brain wants to say: "yeah, but I can make this at home and it would cost less..."--true, it would, but it was nice not to have to cook, as well as spending time with a friend. I also ordered the Mexican-Spiced Mocha, hot. Yum!

Wow! Cute place. Food was delicious & fresh! Prices are reasonable & the portions are generous. You won't leave hungry. Service was excellent & fast. Server was Chava & he checked on us several times. The big thing I noticed, all the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which is rare to see. Highly recommend you try this place. I will definitely be going back.

I went here for a morning breakfast/ catchup with a couple of close acquaintances. One of the people I came with is a regular for the past 5+years at Rise N Shine and meets here weekly for a Tuesday morning breakfast with old friends. The breakfast and lunch place gave homey, family-friendly, and easy-going vibes. The staff knew the regulars by name and their orders without any hesitation, which gave me the feeling they get to know each customer personally. Our server was helpful and constantly willing to help me with any modifications to the menu item I ordered. Our order came out kind of fast for a place that had a flow of customers coming in and out on a Thursday morning. I left happy and satisfied with the healthy option off menu. My friends didn't leave their plate with a scrap of food on them. I definitely would say this is a place to try, but it wouldn't be a place that I need to come again to try anything else off the menu you.

My server was very kind and patient as I could not decide what I wanted with all the tasty things in the menu. I decided on getting a turkey wrap and coffee. Both were great and the fries were delicious. I will definitely be back to try the mimosa flight. They also have a lot of items on the a la cart menu that could be added to a meal. Don't skip over the cream cheese options. The space was a bit crammed but I was able to have a conversation and they have a lot of seating areas including a bar.

Tacos at sunrise - S.eggs, Jack & cheddar, black bean, jalapeño's, onions, tomatoes, avocado with 3 corn tortillas. Side of salsa, s.cream.

Food - very tasty options Service - excellent Ambiance - loud but cozy cafe 1st time here around 3/2025 since the name change from EggEtc. Had a very yummy Mexican coffee with cinnamon and chocolate. Tacos on Sunrise - $10.49 (surely subject to change, and don't call me surely) Scrambled eggs, Monterey jack and cheddar, black beans, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes and avocado slices (about 3 maybe) with three corn tortillas. A good helping of sour cream, and their in house made warm salsa hit the spot! Warning - IF you have a small stomach, THEN you may be full after 2 tacos with the eggs etc (pun). tortillas with a side of fire roasted salsa, sour cream and lettuce.

    All the good grown-up specialties!

Same space that used to be the artist better known as eggtc., but now has been rebranded and reborn as Rize N Shine. They're still serving breakfast each day along with a lunch-ish part of the menu and a great array of adult beverages from the full bar. The menu has been retooled somewhat with some new additions. The breakfast cocktails range from mimosa through Bloody Mary, with some nice twists in between. Breakfast still is the core offering with some solid specialities such as Eggs Benedict, build-your-own omelets, biscuits & gravy, and more. I'm a big fan of their griddle game, whether it's a stack of sweet cream pancakes or an artisanal waffle dish. The pancakes are super fluffy and disappear quickly. Pro tip: if you can afford the *real* maple syrup, then do so and thank yourself. Service is friendly and quick and there is almost always a 'runner' staff on hand to deliver from kitchen to table. Pricing is pretty attractive (a stack of 3 pancakes is only $9 and the value is higher) and the atmosphere is busy but not chaotic. Given the proximity to youth ballfields, there is a good chance that you'll see families with sluggers grabbing a weekend meal, so the place gets filled. The staff does a great job of moving the line at busy times and the kitchen keeps up nicely. Great neighborhood spot!

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

The Experience: The atmosphere is clean and impressively airy, making for a great morning vibe. Both the hostess and server were exceptionally engaging, even providing a personal water pitcher for the table--a small touch that makes a huge difference. The Food: Chicken Fried Chicken: This is the real deal. It was clearly prepared fresh, not frozen, which is a rarity these days. The Sides: The home potatoes were perfectly crispy, and the gravy was thick, peppery, and hit all the right notes. The Biscuit: This "super-sized" biscuit was essentially the icing on the cake. The Eggs: I ordered my eggs poached soft. They arrived a bit too soft (runny yolk was the goal, but these were just under), though in fairness, that's likely on me for the specific request! Here's the list: Sunrise, Jolly green, Power BLT, Baked Oatmeal, Croissant French Toast, Salsa Verde Pork &Eggs, Homemade Blueberry Tart and Carrot Cake Pancakes. Something tells me you just can't wait to hear.. the Fresh squeezed Sunrise & Jolly Green juice were so fresh and refreshing my goodness they were like little liquid vitamins drinks. The green went down so smooth with a hint of sweetness. The sunrise was just right for first thing in the morning carrot juice mixture I don't think we get enough of carrot juice but I felt so alive after drinking enough too go in on that Savory Satisfying Salsa Verde and it with the over easy egg on top to bring it home. When delivered it was still hot, the pork was so moist and seasoned darn well the salsa brought the entire thing together with that warm egg yolk I almost hurt myself it is a must try. Then comes the Large Power BLT with added grilled chicken. Listen to me you have to add the grilled chicken it takes it to a whole'nother level with the hickory smoky bacon cooked perfectly the kale and the brussel sprouts bean sprouts grape tomatoes it's just loaded goodness and the dressing being oil based seasons the green because they are raw so keep that in mind. You can literally feed 2-3 people with this salad. It's gonna be a summer staple for me no doubt!!!! Now comes the Baked Oatmeal - I've never had baked oatmeal but I believe they may have changed my mind with the berries I can't explain the warm goodness I think it was cinnamon but the oatmeal is so incredibly inviting so moist and chewy almost like an oatmeal cookie added berries for sweetness I added cream too it and let all my cares extinguish themselves. The Croissant French Toast- is RICH absolutely Rich, buttery toasted 3 pieces of goodness with a great helping of syrup. I say have some eggs and bacon some kind of fat or acidic beverage to cut through the richness, it put me to sleep when I finished it. We have the Homemade Blueberry Tart- ok let's talk.. flaky, buttery, when you break off a piece you layers of dough like someone loves their job. The filling on the inside compared to dough was perfect and very blueberry light sweetness, it's a cross between pop tart and toaster strudel but better. The icing kinda rubbed off in the bag but it was just enough and sprinkles to enjoy. I really liked that!! Yep, I saved the best for last those super moist Carrot Cake Pancakes, where have they been all my life huh where have they been? Just a simple sweet carrot cake with syrup you might as well say, like sponges just absorb the syrup to put you in a food coma and gone add a pad of butter as if, well as if it needed to be rich too flavor explosion just all over the place. I've never had that flavor pancake before but I will again. I wish I knew about this place before now, but it is one great find for any day or any occasion. Every item purchased was made, prepared and packaged with care. HomeGrown clearly loves their job because great things are coming out of that kitchen. I was very impressed my favorites are the Power BLT added grilled chicken and those Carrot Cake Pancakes. I've found another way to get my veggies . If you have not tried this place you got to and apparently they have some several locations. Picture time! I also posted my order and price shall you wanna take a walk on the tasty side of life. Enjoy! It's definitely a Yelp 5*****star. The serving sizes were nice. The price for what I got was perfect for me. The flavors paired well in each item. We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.
