My eyes have been red my whole…read morelife and it was Dr. Margius (after years of other doctors) who took the time to figure out why. He did various tests, in addition to a very thorough eye exam. Thanks to him, my eyes have gone from green and red to green and white! AND his staff is great! They helped me pick out glasses that look so good, I get constant compliments. Because my eyes look so much healthier, I think they look brighter; this , I am sure, helps compliment my glasses. Thank you, Dr. Margius and staff, for taking the time to care about us patients! I've seen his primary secretary / office manager fighting with other employees arguing being disrespectful unfortunately it carries over to clients. So now I've moved on there are other options. Why is he a doctor when it's difficult to get an appointment when it's difficult to get information when it's just plain disrespectful. Regrettably it has nothing to do with a doctor.

The website states they are appointment only, and to make one by phone. You see the problem here, if no one ever picks up the phone or calls back. This place is the closest in my network of insurance, but I need new glasses for something in a couple of weeks. So now, instead of driving 5 minutes to this place, I have to drive 30+ minutes to the next closest location that's covered by my insurance.

He's super knowledgable and attentive. He's also one of the first optometrists that is sensitive enough not to make me feel bad about my vision but suggests ways to protect my eyes. For example, he suggested that my husband gets glasses that filter out blue wavelengths (since these tend to be the ones that are most harmful to vision). The last time we went, we were rather rushed because the only available time slot was the morning when my father was due to arrive at Bradley Airport. Never before had I felt so much like a demanding customer, constantly rushing to see if we could either wrap up early, or prepay so we wouldn't have to pay after the checkup. I felt badly, but also didn't want to keep my father waiting at the airport! Dr. Hochberg and his staff were as considerate and patient as can be. He didn't cut any corners despite my attitude and ensured we got a full checkup before departing.

After several pictures Dr Faridi informed me that I had macular hole in my retina and suggested I see one of their specialist. I made an appointment for to see Dr Levinson in the Shelton office on January 7th. Dr Levinson was very warm and expressed I needed to surgery to correct the issue. I informed Dr Levinson that I was flying to Hawaii on March 2nd and the surgery required 4-8 weeks of recovery with no flying. Dr Levinson squeezed me in and operated on my 2 days later. Now, its January 24th, the hole is closed, the gas in my my almost gone and Hawaii here I come. Thank you so much Dr. Levinson.. Your the best!

She didn't even know the answers to simple questions about eye exams and had to put me on hold for over 10 min so she could check with her supervisor. Then she didn't know the price of the contact lens fitting exam. Then, when I asked if they accept my insurance it was impossible to get a straightforward answer it was clear she had no clue what she was saying. Later, I called their other location to doublecheck and got completely different answers. It was also an ordeal. Again, the person I spoke with was rude and abrupt. They are so vague about insurances they accept, or about the final cost you can expect to pay. Then they e-mail forms to sign requiring you to pay upfront for things that are routinely covered by insurance. Everything there is so chaotic and disorganized. And don't even dare ask another question because you will be snapped at. I can only imagine when one gets a bill from them. Most likely you will be overcharged and nobody in their office will cooperate with you to resolve any billing issues.....or even understand what you are calling about. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, to say the very least. Stay away from this practice!!!!!!

Very thorough Optometrist, but SCAMMED with excessive charges…read more Even with health insurance coverage and out of pocket "co-pay", I was billed almost another $600.00 after I pay on the day of the visit more than $400.00. Two contact lens evaluations, eye exams plus one kid exam = $1300.00. Really!!! This practice's charges are abusive and excessive, IMO... I was even made believe that I had a problem with my eyes, so I opted for the "intermediate medical exam" and billed TWICE. Once as "New Patient" and on a follow up visit )as an "Existing Patient". I had to go back the following day because it was too late for them to complete my exams, so "nailed" again even though I was told by the staff that I was not going to be charge for any of the services on the follow up visit... `:-/ Charged for contact lens "fittings" even do we were not prescribed different lenses that the ones already using. Prescriptions didn't change! Medical Exam charges and fitting charges were HUGE! Stay away from this place.

I spent more money on…read moreframes than I usually do and I have been back 5 times because they kept ordering the wrong lenses. While ordering my glasses. The gentleman was talking to his family and not concentrating on patients. I have gone back five times , this last time it wasn't even fixed. The Manager never came out of the office and I ended up leaving without any correction to my bifocals. I would not recommend this office at all. I have always been at an office where they sit you down when glasses come in to make sure that they fit properly and that the new prescriptions are correct. I was handed them , I found the error at home and than after the 2nd and 3rd time in the office because I checked myself sitting at one of their desks. The manager did give me a credit and also found out they never used my 2nd insurance which saved me over 200$ after he found error. Very disappointed in this office, I would question whether to even use the company again. I definitely would not come back to this office.

I recently told a friend to check out myeyedr. because they have various locations with optometrists and a nice selection of frames. All in one spot.
