Great staff, because of them I was found to have an eye condition a few years ago. Doctors are great, friendly place.

Not only did Hawley Lane Opticians screw my husband over many years ago when he finally needed…read moreglasses and the optician forgot to fill out one part of a form for the DMV (this caused him a lot of problems)...but they have been rude every time we have contacted them since. When we needed the lenses replaced a few years later, it turned into a whole dramatic ordeal and took weeks when it should have been a quick fix. I recently called them again to ask for my husband's PD because we found glasses online that he liked and we are updating his prescription. They refused to give it out because we aren't buying from them this time. Never use this place. They are a waste of space.

Just an update. RUN…read more‍ RUN away do not use this place. The owner is rude and quickly denied what I needed even before they looked at my file. Literally one year my super expensive glasses broke. Which is actually less than one year because when I received them the prescription was off and I had to have them fix it. So if I am going based off of that it was less than one year. I called to get prescription and they will not provide me with all the details needed to order a new pair online. They refused to assist even with all the money I spent. Run. They push you to spend on unnecessary items. I had to get the lens correct and the $200+ I spent is out the door. Glasses totaled $558 the $200 were to get bifocals I did not need ask them to correct which they are doing but they will not credit the 200 on unnecessary bifocals nit even a store credit. Manager Edward did not care. There site states they take quality in there work but they do not. All they care about is the money you shell out. The eye doctor is good but the that owner of this establishment is not at all professional. I will continue my complaint to BBB and every other social media possible. Economy is hard and people like this makes it harder.

I had an appointment scheduled for early September however I lost my left contact lense this morning and was down to my last pair. I was going to be traveling to west coast and overseas in August and was afraid that if I lose my last pair during these trips I will face significant hardship and will have to wear my eye glasses which I only like to wear at home. Called the office and explained my issue to the scheduling assistant. She instead of trying to help me by squeezing me in for an on an earlier date on a EXCEPTION she would not do so. As a favor to me she was willing to put me on cancelation list and there too I would have to wait for my number. I must also say the scheduler came across as very inflexible and aggressive which most certainly is not the way to service your existing and new patients. if the office policy is to show "zero" flexibility than the office need to revisit the policy. Being an existing patient I was so disappointed that I canceled my appointment with the office for September, and rescheduled it with another eye care facility for next week and that was done on a exception basis to accommodate me. Needless to say it was a very disappointing experience trying to reschedule the appointment. I highly recommend that the scheduling assistant receives additional training in customer service. Not that it matters you lost me as one of your long term patient today.

Story time: Working for a great Dr but terrible boss…read more I Wanted to Succeed for Dr. Bennett but Was Never Given the Chance I walked into this job excited and ready to learn. I knew I was joining during a busy time, but I never imagined just how much was changing behind the scenes. Multiple employees were retiring, the office was in transition, and the person assigned to train me was unavailable during a critical part of my onboarding. Before I had even been given the opportunity to fully learn the position, I found myself working on my own. Like any new employee, I asked questions, took notes, and did my best to keep up. I genuinely wanted to succeed. Instead of receiving the guidance and patience that most new hires need, I was let go before I had a fair chance to grow into the role. Looking back, it felt less like I was evaluated on my potential and more like I was expected to know everything immediately despite the circumstances. My hope is that future employees are given the training, support, and opportunity that every new hire deserves. A little patience and proper leadership can make the difference between an employee who fails and one who thrives.

Dr. Noonan was rude, curt, dismissive and diminishing (there was no bedside manner whatsoever)! I was a new patient and didn't realize that if I wanted an eye exam plus an exam for contacts that I should be wearing my contacts(never had to do this at my last eye doctor) and he pretty much yelled at me for not having them in/with me. He was so short with me throughout the whole visit and I just can't understand why. I really should've just walked out when I noticed his very pronounced rudeness but stayed so that I could at least get a new glasses and contacts prescription. The front office staff were "meh" as I was not impressed by them at all. Though there was one woman who helped sort my insurance out and for that I'm appreciative. While the office is new you can clearly see that some of their systems are antiquated. I'm so used to being emailed or texted or sent a message via an app like "My Chart" by my other doctors' offices that I expected the same from this office. Apparently they couldn't reach me via telephone call in regards to my insurance so I didn't realize I even had an issue until I arrived at my appointment. I can't speak for the other doctor in the practice but Dr. Noonan was horrible and I just can't believe that I could have such a bad experience at an eye doctor of all places. Dr. Noonan treated me as though he could not be bothered with someone like me, as though getting this basic eye exam was asking too much of him. Needless to say I will NEVER step foot into Stratford Eye Care Associates again and they will NEVER see a dime of my money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT RETURN! But perhaps this was the goal and if it was this practice succeeded!

Bad lenses or bad prescription? You wear glasses long enough…read moreto know that changing a new prescription requires time for your eyes to adjust, Unfortunately by that time your return policy window has closed. When you go back and ask them to adjust the frames and ask them to measure your PD, they don't. So you spend 4 hours on hold and speaking to customer service only to find out they don't actually do anything but call the store directly. If the store decides no, America's best company does nothing tO intercede on their customers behalf. I have wasted my benefit on an exam, and $500 on glasses I can't wear. Deciding if I have the fortitude to deal with the store directly again as their customer service did not make me feel valued or respected.

I am incredibly disappointed with every level of my experience with America's Best in Stratford…read more It started with the ordering process. Extra stuff was added to my bill (a warranty for $25 that I was never asked about) and the cost for various extras was never discussed with me. They forgot to charge me for my exam. When I went back in to clear things up I got some serious pushback and attitude from some staff members who spoke about me like I wasn't there sharing inaccurate information about why I came back. Fast forward to today and I called to get an update on my order (you can only get updates by calling). My first call had a lot of "umm" and "hmm" that resulted in me being told they'd need to call me back after a deeper dive into my order status. I call back after about an hour and a half and I get put on hold, which is fine. My update was that I should expect a call early next week. Or, maybe late next week. That was it. I call corporate customer service and had a really lovely interaction with someone who quickly tells me my order left the manufacturing facility at a specific time yesterday, was in-transit with UPS, and was expected at the store on Tuesday. She had no clue why the store staff wouldn't just tell me that during my first or second call. The questionable customer service and ridiculous wait time are not worth the low prices. My family has had four other complete pairs of glasses from three different companies delivered between June 30th and today. America's Best started the process on June 29th. There were opportunities to mend the interaction, but this location just didn't seem interested in getting that done. Go with Zenni if you want a quality inexpensive frame delivered. Target Optical if you want designer frames in-network. Warby Parker if you're in a place to wait for reimbursement.
