After many reschedules due to snow, I finally made it to Kellie's cafe Newport Ri. The anticipation for a proper Full English has gone on for months now and it did not disappoint! My fry up included: Two sunny Wheat toast Cumberland sausage Back bacon Grilled Tomato ...and my favorite Heinz beans!! (No black pud-- just not my thing ) They have an assortment of other British pasties, butties, pork pies and sausage rolls to take away also. Supergrass' Moving was playing. I was jamming out. Solid spot if you're into British-inspired food. Got the sausage roll--nice and flaky on the outside, really tasty inside. Also tried the Ploughman's sandwich, which was pretty good. I just want to say what a cute little cafe. Me and my girlfriends came here back in April for a girls trip and surprised my friend for a breakfast with traditional English Tea. I had communicated with the owner, Kellie, and she was super sweet and gave me all the info we needed. She really made it feel like we were being catered to. Now the food! We all got a full English breakfast and boy was it amazing. Quick to be brought out and the quality was impeccable. They also had a nice selection of British candy and sweets for sale. This is my son's favorite place. So shout out to a local group of people starting their own business. My son knew the former owners and they sold it to a new owner. I could never eat the food because they put onions and everything. But my son absolutely loves this place. read more

It's rare to find a place that lives up to its claim; but this is a really good British cafe. I have had breakfast and lunch here and the hot and cold foods are excellent. So too are they various English biscuits and other treats that are hard to find in the US! Highly recommended? read more

Kellie's was one of our best finds on our trip to Newport! If you are not sure what to order, do not hesitate to ask. The friendly and fun family that owns the restaurant will lead you in the right direction and everything is delicious. We ate beans and toast, Cornish hen pasties and my husband had the meat pie with peas- we loved everything especially the flaky crust on pasties and the kids wanted more. The space is so charming - pay attention to all the fun details and snacks! We could've stayed there all afternoon, chatting and eating with the other diners and owners. Fabulous place! My husband and I stopped in for a quick coffee and ended up chatting with the owners and cheering on their favorite Premier League team that was playing on the large tv. They are incredibly nice and are working hard to bring us an authentic experience. The food (and coffee) were delicious. We ordered the steak pie, sausage rolls and a sweet treat. The "Full Monty" again but this time no Imported Cumberland Sausages but large, very juicy and extremely tasty ones MADE IN HOUSE; absolutely so delicious I took one home to enjoy for breakfast tomorrow. This is the judgement of someone who lived in a small East Anglian town where the local butcher was famous for supplying his sausages to the Savoy, Claridges and other leading London hotels. WHERE HAS THIS PLACE BEEN ALL MY LIFE? As a former Mrs. Lovett in "Sweeney Todd", I am always on the lookout for shops that sell meat pies (LOL) and other British delicacies. We've driven by this unassuming spot so many times, but never stopped until very recently for a pleasant Saturday morning spot of brunch and I'm glad we did! The cafe gets busy on weekends, and I would HIGHLY advise you to call in advance if you have your heart set on one of the house made scones to confirm availability. I was bummed that they were sold out, but the house made sausage roll, full English breakfast, and eggs on toast more than made up for it. I will be calling in advance next time, the scones are mine! Kellie herself is a delight, as is her husband. They cheerfully man the register, kitchen, and dining area all with a smile on their face and UK Soccer matches on the telly in the background. It's businesses like these that I love to find and support and of course, spread the word about. Despite outdoor construction, we were transported to England while we dined at Kellie's. We enjoyed our meal. I got the Cowboy sandwich which had the most delicious back bacon. My mom had the full English breakfast and they make all meals to order which was wonderful. The jam was perfect! We also ordered a sausage roll, which was my reason for coming. When you enter Kellies Cafe it feels like you stepped out of the USA and into England. Kelly and Sheree will warmly welcome you as soon as you walk through the door. The restaurant is adorned in teacups and British snacks and candy. There's a tv to watch the football. Being South African I chose this restaurant for my birthday breakfast because alot of the food is the same as that which we serve back home. My friend got the steak and ale pie and I got the chicken pie which Kelly has specially made for the restaurant. We both ordered a sausage as well because they are imported and how could we not?! Loved this restaurant! The service was friendly and attentive but not over-the-top or in your face--welcoming. The ambiance matches the theme and felt comfortable. And the food... we had steak and ale pies with mash and peas--they were perfect! Excellent seasoning and texture of steak with a flaky crust, and the mash was from potatoes rather than flakes. Excellent and authentic English food which is so hard to find - I came to Newport for my birthday with my friends and had to pull into this place (I was born in England and spell my name the same way...it was meant to be!!!!) we had a variety of sandwiches (introduced my friends to Branston pickle and cheddar sandwiches) scones and tea. My wife and I were on a weekend drive to downtown Newport when as we were getting off the bridge we noticed the large English teapot sign. My wife being from East Anglia we immediately headed there to see why they had. It was if we stepped into an English cafe. The Man U and Man City game was on and we were met by the very friendly staff with the familiar English accent. We ordered lots of food and a cuppa and watched the game.
