Poor customer communication. No consistent lawn schedule, tech is only actively working on lawn for all of 7 minutes (while on the phone) from arrival to departure of vehicle. You're left in the dark, good luck reaching them on the phone. Most people pay for a lawn service bc they have no idea how to take care of their own lawn, seems like Kelly green takes advantage of that vs helping the customers lawn individually. It felt like I was bothering them by requesting additional services. I called them and told them that I had physically seen chinch bugs, and way too many grubs per sqft in my lawn. I was interested in what they offer to put on my lawn that will kill the bugs. I was also interested in Hydretain (was told the tech would see notes that I wanted this product applied) but when The tech came weeks later at an unscheduled time, they did not put down anything for the bugs, insects or the Hydretain I requested to have applied at an extra cost. The next day, they texted when they were 5 minutes out but then never showed up. I called the day after that, and customer service said they would look into what happened and call me back to see when they could come. They never called. I called again the next week and got the exact same story. I was still never called back. Time to find another company! read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED We fired Kelly Green Lawncare two days ago, after having used them for 5-6 years. We try to buy local whenever possible, and the change to Kelly Green from Mega-Corporate Chemical Lawn originally seemed to have been a good choice in terms of both performance and price. In 2019 (pre-COVID), we began to notice that the lawn just didn't look good anymore. It got to the point that other lawncare providers were walking up to our front door doing cold sales pitches, because it appeared obvious to them that we didn't have a lawn service. We called Kelly Green, and they were very nice. They stated that they had had some problems with certain techs, and they were correcting the issues. If we'd stay with them, we'd be credited for the last two service calls, and the Manager would manage our yard personally to ensure that the job was being done right. We accepted, and stayed with them. Fast-forward to 2021. We were unimpressed again. The yard did not look thick and healthy, as it had before. We had crabgrass, again. We had dandelions for the first time in 20 years. Clover was making a comeback in our yard. On Tuesday, I found out why. I was sitting in a room overlooking the street when the white Kelly Green van rolled up and parked. According to both my clock and the time the technician wrote on the invoice he left behind, it was 10:35am. The tech sat in the van for several minutes, using both his phone and some other device. He then got out and unstrapped the broadcast spreader from the rear of the van. He reached into the van and retrieved a bag that appeared to be about ¼ full (10 lbs?) which he loaded into the spreader. He then retrieved another bag from the van and proceeded to dump what appeared to be an equivalent amount into the spreader. With a broadcast spreader loaded with what appeared to be roughly 20 lbs of product, he proceeded to "treat" my entire lawn of about 26,000sqft of grass. He did not reload the spreader. As the product was stated to be a "balanced fertilizer", I was surprised that he could effectively treat my entire yard with a fraction of a spreader load. The invoice also stated that the tech "treated weeds as needed". As he walked/jogged past the dandelions, clover, and crabgrass without slowing, this simply did not happen. The tech then loaded the spreader back onto the rear of the van and spent a few more minutes with phone and clipboard before jumping out and sliding the invoice under my door mat. The tech then got back into the van and pulled away from my house. At 10:47am. Twelve (12) minutes after he had arrived. To be charitable, let's assume that he spent only half of his time sitting in the van, but that still means that he spent a grand total of only six (6) minutes actually servicing my lawn. Twelve minutes of total presence at my house, for an invoice of $131.61. That equates to an hourly rate of $658 per hour. You'll have to trust me on this, but my lawn DOES NOT look like it's getting $658/hr worth of care. Since January 1 of this year, Kelly Green Lawncare has invoiced me for five treatments, totaling $852.53. Since four of the five treatments were performed by the same tech who I observed on Tuesday doing such a pitifully poor job, when I look at my lawn I am of the very strong opinion that I have not actually received the services for which I have been billed. I did call Kelly Green, again. They were very nice, again. They made - essentially - the same retention offer they made last time. This time I am not staying. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Why 2 stars? They do get partial credit for being very nice on the phone and they do a solid job of letting you know they are coming, which is important to dog owners. They just don't seem to have anything like Quality Control, at all. read more

INCREDIBLY overpriced & piss poor service overall. I hired them for general lawn fertilization and to treat some minor bare spots & my lawn looks exactly the same as it did before they started my services in February of 2019. They would never spray my entire property, I would watch them on my cameras. They'd come out, spray a little bit here and there and hit the road within a few minutes. I would never recommend using this company for lawn fertilization services to anyone, and especially not at the outrageously high rates this company charges. ***1st RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE*** In the six months that you treated my lawn, I should not have to call and ask for a free treatment. As a professional lawn service, YOU should be on top of whatever services are needed to get the lawn in top shape. I did call about halfway thru my service about my patches and you guys recommended the grub control which you charged me $223 for and did nothing to help the bare spots. At the date I called to cancel it was too late for this situation to be remedied by one free treatment. Plus, your communication with me throughout the time we did business was terrible. I requested on multiple occasions when I first signed up and then thereafter to MEET IN PERSON with the tech when they came to my house. That never happened once. Again, INCREDIBLY overpriced, lazy service, piss poor communication, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! ***2nd RESPONSE TO OWNER'S EXCUSES*** 1. I am not a review type person, so I was going to let it slide once I let you know how unhappy I was with the service. Frankly, I was pissed with the service and how much you charged me for it, so I wasn't going to pay the last invoice. But, since you wanna threaten to send to me collections over $89, I got time to leave reviews now. Every word I'm saying is 100% true & you're 100% paid up for your crappy service. 2. This only shows how uneducated you are about my job. I only added the backyard after having my tree professionally trimmed back there AND THEN added the whole backyard of brand new st Augustine grass - THATS WHY IT WAS ADDED AFTER THE FRONT! 3. My lawn isn't 'thin' - It's actually mostly lush and full St Augustine, and all I really wanted help with from y'all was the few bare spots. You made no recommendations on the bare spots during the 6 months you treated my lawn, nor did you communicate a plan of action and let me know they'd take more than 6 month to fix, and they never got better. 4. Again, you are just showing your complete ignorance of my job with this point. I absolutely DID have my trees professionally trimmed and have plenty of pictures to prove it - they stripped the tree in backyard down the bone basically before adding that area and it was absolutely not an issue. 5. AGAIN - YES I DID REQUEST A ONE ON ONE CONSULTATION MULTIPLE TIMES AND YOU WOULD NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ME TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN AND IT IS ONE OF MY MAIN REASONS FOR NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU ANYMORE, FUNNY NOW HOW WELL YOU COMMUNICATE NOW! And Again, I should not have to request a "free treatment" when you're supposedly servicing my yard on regular basis. I was a customer of Kelly Green for 2 years and let me tell ya....Holy $@!T what an experience. The only reason I renewed for the 2nd year was because their competitor flaked last minute. They were always behind schedule. I have extensive emails to prove this. They're not good at showing up but they are good at apologizing. That's all they do via email....."sorry we're backed up due to whatever, we have you on the schedule." I must have over ten emails saying something like this. While my neighbors companies are done treating their yards, I'm still wondering when Kelly Green might service mine. Then, they do show up and service someone else yard!!! This is true. It happened not once but twice, and the first time they denied it happened but I didn't have any evidence from my security cameras showing they were ever at my house. I'm out hunting with my neighbor and he tells me my lawn company treated his yard and gave his wife my bill. They got a good laugh out from it. I didn't. After arguing with them they came back out and then admitted they did the wrong house. Yes, this happened a second time. Now that I'm not a customer they're still trying to treat my yard. I had to remind them I'm not a customer anymore. My new company already did the first treatment in the middle of January and here Kelly Green would have just been getting to the first treatment in March.. As a customer, I almost had to email to ask when the next service would occur...everytime! The one pro is that their product did appear to be efficient as my yard didn't have many weeds. If you read reviews here and other websites you'll notice the owner making excuses and challenging those who leave bad reviews which to me is evidence they're doing a poor job. If you have to be online challenging bad reviews all day somethings wrong. Perhaps that is why they're always behind schedule. I'd stay away from their service. read more

We have used Kelly Green for almost a year now and are pleased with the service we received. Our Zorro Zoysia grass was slow to green up last spring and we were worried. But, within a week after our first treatment it was becoming green and lush again. Weeds are at a minimum with a little clover hanging on during the Summer and Fall. No trace of it now, early March. We are happy with the look of our lawn and, once it greens up this Spring, I'll post a photo. Thanks to Kelly Green, we have the nicest lawn on our street. read more

We moved into a newly constructed house in Dec. 2012. Early in 2013 we hired Kelly Green to help with a brand new 1 acre lawn that was completely overwhelmed by weeds of every kind. They did the first year treatment and the next spring saw a much lower number of weeds, and by the third year there was about 96% control. Our lawn looked as good as any in the area. Each year we have not had to worry about the weeds using Kelly Green. I would however give them an A-, if possible, because the grassy weeds continue to be a problem. But they are not pervasive and Kelly comes out whenever I call for another hit. We have had good success with their service. read more

I needed some serious weed control but didn't know who to get to do the job. A friend told me to get a referral from a neighbor. I saw the Kelly Green truck out doing a neighbors yard and went and talked to the service tech. He was very informative and came and sprayed our yard right then. I was so thankful for that. The owner the contacted me via email with all their options and costs along with a lot of helpful information. So far so good! I found Kelly Green through a Valu Pack mailer I got in the mail a few months ago. While I've never had a lawn service before, I have to say I am very happy with Kelly Green. I emailed him for an estimate and he sent me back and electronic estimate within a couple hours. All pricing was up front and the process couldn't have been easier. Since then, I have gotten three treatments and no, my yard isn't perfect (it was a mess...) it does look MUCH better. My weeds have also been controlled greatly. In March 2018 I hired Kelly Green Lawn Care out of Burleson, TX for lawn and weed control after receiving a postcard in the mail. My home is located in Fort Worth, TX so the quote for weed control service had to be provided via email. Kelly Green Lawn Care pulled up my home via satellite and provided a quote. I needed more weed control service than the area quoted so I provided a picture with details of how far outside my fence line I would like to go. Kelly Green Lawn Care gave me a quote for lawn weed control and it was a lot cheaper than what I was paying so I accepted the offer. They sprayed the yard but I saw zero benefits and repeatedly requested a tech to visit to address an abundance of weeds. By this time I had stopped paying. I tried to get them to come back and got "your account isn't paid. Pay it and we'll send a technician over to spot spray." I replied "if you come spray I'll pay you in full. I just want someone to analyze my yard because I'm not happy with the results." Kelly Green Lawn Care never showed up. I admittedly slow paid them for lack of results. The relationship started off a lot like they left my yard........ full of weeds. I learned a valuable lesson about weed control in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Good weed control companies cost more because they're worth it. Mr Kelly has contacted me since posting this review and states a yard can't be turned around in a short period of time. I have to disagree with him because the company I use now did it. I have edited this review to mention dates and that I slow paid Mr Kelly since I am late in posting this review. Worst customer service ever!! They rely on an answering machine to do business. I called them in July and every month until December. That's 6 months to return my call which they have not done. I've left messages clearly requesting a phone call. For two months, I have left messages saying I would not pay my July bill until they called me back. They canceled my service without notifying me and have sent my bill to collections. I am current on every bill I have3, but I refuse to do business with a company who won't return a phone call. read more

After the first treatment, things looked better and we were pleased; however, we have had clover and sticker weeds throughout the remainder of the summer. They charged my credit card - without my authorization - for services I never told them to do and, as far as I can tell, they never did. They charged me for an entire year's worth of service, and I've only called them one time to come out to do service to my lawn. I've only lived at my residence for 2 1/2 months! How can you run a professional business, yet never meet your clients and never come to their house to perform any services, yet charge a credit card for services that haven't been done!?!?!?! read more
